Before the New Year

Honeybee on Salvia on Christmas Eve. Really warm. We had 3 1/2″ of rain on Christmas Eve.

So this morning, I had planned to clean out files before the New Year and organize my Christmas decorations. While I was pulling out files, the file cabinet began tilting toward me. Now, I have Christmas decorations and a big heavy glass vase on top, and I’m trying to push the cabinet back while catching everything.

Didn’t catch everything. The glass vase was a goner, shattered into a billion pieces on the tile floor. I’ve picked up the bigger pieces, swept up, vacuumed, and mopped, and still am finding glass. It shot up onto a side table and across the room to about twelve feet. So, THAT was not part of what I had planned to do this morning. lol

Anyway, I wanted to take down the decorations and clean everything really well, and then I’ll be all set to start on another book. Oh, wow, birds are on the feeders, and it started to pour rain suddenly.

And now it’s thundering.

I am off to finish up my work and then play some of Baldur’s Gate.
