They put me on steroids because of all the horrible swelling and painful lesions I was having, and the great news is that they stopped all of that and the immature white blood cells are gone, no longer mutating into new cancer cells as of 3 days ago. The other great news about steroids is I finally have clarity on the story!
Woohoo!!! I wrote probably 4,000 words last night, vital scenes to add to Protecting the White Bear. I just was so excited to finally get some ideas that are working.
The downside of the steroids is that I had an hour and a half of sleep. I can’t sleep. But otherwise, no fevers and that was causing nausea, so doing sooooo much better, and my dr. is weaning me off the steroids, probably the last day today, which makes 3, and she gave me the lowest dose there was. I really needed it. The left side of my face was swelling something terrible, under the chin on the left side, couldn’t sleep because of the excruciating pain on the lesions on my head. So the steroids took care of all that and I felt normal again.
She said it was like I was in the middle of the battlefield between the chemo and the cancer cells and she was removing me from the battle. Which suited me fine. I was on the sidelines cheering the chemo on.
And of course, when I wasn’t thinking of Protecting the White Bear I was thinking about the vampire run hospital that cures patients of cancer while taking their blood. I mean, you know this all has to come up in a story, right? Only pararnormalized.
Okay, I have to eat, and then it’s back to writing until I can finally sleep.
