A Flamboyance of Flamingos at the Dallas Zoo

I love how pretty they are. But oftentimes, zoo backgrounds are boring. I used Daily Texture’s backgrounds a lot because she hand-paints them. I also do a lot of hand-painting and mixer-brush painting on my birds when I need to. For instance, the eyes were bright pink from the sunlight and you couldn’t see the pupils, so I added them. I fluff out feathers at the edges of the birds, so that it doesn’t look like a cut-and-paste of my photos. It’s all in the details, though they’re so small, that unless you enlarge the photo art, you probably don’t see them. But I like adding them anyway.

Well, I need to feed the birds, myself, take more medicine, and get to writing. The temperature dropped, brr, so don’t feel like going outside.

Hope you’re doing great!!
