After the other tomato plants had died, I found 3 volunteers growing from tomato seeds scattered. And so I planted two in one of the tomato boxes and one in the yard. I REALLY didn’t think I’d have any tomatoes, despite the plants growing so tall. It’s chilly most mornings and evenings, but look, there they are and they’re evening beginning to ripen. Best part? No bugs. 🙂

My Mom always tried to keep the tomatoes alive thru the hot summer and we would have fall tomatoes until the first freeze. I always seem to have too many other things to do in the summer, but it works. Cherry or grape tomatoes are especially suited for this and require little help.
Oh, that’s so neat. My others died out, so I was surprised to see these new ones for fall. But it’s so hot here so late, it’s great. And no bugs to speak of that are giving me a hard time. 🙂
