Thoughts:
I loved it! This is the 2nd book I’ve enjoyed from Terry’s World of Fae series and it’s just as magical a tale as the 1st one! As with the 1st story, this tale would also be perfect for tweens and teens . BUT… it’s not just for the young. I really enjoyed it, too, and I’m in my 60s.

The plot was an enchanting and original treasure. Lady Sessily, an ultra-talented dark fae hunter assassin, is on an assignment when she encounters an obstacle to her plan. That obstacle is a tall, dark and handsome cobra fae who believes that he is gallantly protecting a young boy when he interferes with Lady Sessily’s mark. Lady Sessily has to devise a new plan and the same cobra fae is an obstacle again! Then their path cross yet a third time! She can’t seem to stay off his radar! By this time, she doesn’t know whether she wants to kiss him, slap him or kill him!
I almost died laughing at parts.  It’s all good, clean fun.
“We’ve already slept together and you made no objection.”
Bottomline: This book is a perfect blend of YA romance, fantasy and unending excitement! It left me amazed, dazed and with a warm fuzzy feeling! Terry’s World of Fae ROCKS!
And then it’s my birthday and my son sent me flowers, so I have to show them off:
IMG_6061 (427x640)
IMG_6089 (427x640)And, then the blog tour first stops:

“We’d like to welcome Terry Spear to TGTBTU today – it’s the first time she’s been featured here. That’s not because we haven’t tried to schedule something for her. She’s that popular with readers. If you’re not quick, you lose out. We finally got lucky!

Her wolf and jaguar shifters are some of the best in romanceland, and if you haven’t read any of her books yet, you need to pick one up soon. They’re that good. Get lost in a world where family is a priority, they take care of each other through everything Ms. Spear throws at them, and love may sometimes come the long away around, but you know it will be worth the wait when it finally hits.

So have some fun with Terry today. Then take a trip to your favorite book store to begin an unexpected journey with sexy heroes and sassy heroines who get growl-y and furry and love to romp through the woods.”

Please drop by and comment, if  you have the chance!

And, on Wicked Scribes: David is here with an exclusive interview never before done and so if you have a chance, please drop by and tell him how hot he is. Then we can get him to do more. Everyone needs a little cheering on, after all!  http://wickedscribes.wordpress.com/2014/05/29/spotlight-on-terry-spears-jaguar-hunt/#comment-18666

Remember all the blogs and interviews I had to write? These are some of them.

Okay, that’s it. This is the LAST day to vote for The Dark Fae, so if you haven’t, and you want to, here is the link one last time. After today, the votes will be tallied.

Back to Her Highland Hero. I need to reach 51,000 today. I was derailed yesterday when my son’s flowers arrived and that meant picture time!!! It doesn’t take much to derail me. 🙂

So, I think I have to publish this to have a URL.

Thoughts:

I loved this! I was enthralled, enchanted and enamored by this lively fae story that moved fast and kept me riveted from beginning to the end. There just weren’t any dull moments. The characters were fun and each was on a trip of self-discovery. This is a story that would be perfect for tweens and teens . But… it’s not just for the young. I really enjoyed it, too, and I’m in my 60s.

The characters shined! Alicia was raised as a human who could see the fae. All she knew about the fae royal kingdoms, she had learned from her father’s journal. As she and her friend, Cassie, were vacationing on South Padre Island, Deveron, a dark fae. made a move on Cassie. Alicia literally pours cold water on him to put a halt to his shenanigans. Deveron decides that he will enjoy paying her back. He might be surprised, though, to find the tables turned on him.
Bottom-line: If you like to escape to magical fantasy worlds with fun romances, captivating characters and non-stop. entertaining adventure, rush to whatever bookstore you use, and buy this book now!
And another review!!!
Loved this fun review of The Dark Fae also!
“What an amazing read. The Dark Fae is so dark and twisty, while at the same time amusing and flirty. This is the first Terry Spear book I’ve ever read and I have to say I’m astonished at the creativity that went into this first installment of the World of Fae series. I was riveted from the very first sentence. Alicia is a smart aleck who doesn’t quite know when to back off. She had me laughing more times than I can count. Even though she’s scared for her life, she’s tough and won’t back down. I respect that in a heroine. Deveron is delicious and dangerous. He’s the bad boy we all love and he will not let readers down. All of the drama with the dark fae vs. the human world really kept me enthralled. I couldn’t wait to find out whether Alicia would get caught and what would happen to her if she did. Oh and let’s not forget the romance. Wowzers! Alicia and Deveron are hot together…mostly due to the fact that she’s always sniping at him. Like I said, very amusing. This is a couple all readers will root for. They’re the couple who doesn’t belong together so of course, we all want them to make it. The Dark Fae is definitely a must read and I will be recommending it to everyone I know. I can’t wait to devour the rest of the series!”

Painting between Storms!

Please vote and have a chance to win too, if you haven’t already.

As of last night when I pre-posted this, The Dark Fae was in the lead, which is incredible! Considering where she began. She might not be there by the end of the contest, and I was ready for it to end when I was ahead, but isn’t that always the way???

So if you haven’t had a chance and want to, she’d still love the votes! Because between now and May 31 when it ends, anything could happen. You know how it is, you’re way behind in a game, and all of a sudden you think you’re going to win and somebody else out of the blue does??? If you’re the person out of the blue, that’s a good thing.

I thought I had taken a picture of the wrought iron I had painted too, but apparently not. So here is the before, and the clouds that prevented me from doing much else, then went out again later. I’ll have to take another picture of the wrought iron I did paint for the after picture. But I’m afraid the ALL after will take a long time. I have to do it between violent winds and rainstorms. 🙂 Then it will get too hot and… aren’t I good at making excuses? But I am using about 3 cans a day, so I am getting somewhere with it. I realized I have miniscule black freckles today. So much for the wind going in the right direction.

I love the wrought iron. It makes me feel as though I’m truly within my castle walls. 🙂

It should be illegal to have electric wires above ground. You know, because of the fact that the best shots are always right where the darn electric wires are.

And that’s my stormy day.

Off to write. For the first time, I was able to get my 3,000 word count yesterday, AND a little ahead. Not much, but writing a little ahead, makes me…a little ahead. 🙂

Have a terrific Thursday!!!

Have a great day!

And thanks again to everyone who voted. It’s amazing to me that I moved up to the top. It doesn’t usually happen. I usually make a little headway and fall right back down. So thank you, thank you to all who voted!

More Rain, but I Love It!

Please vote and have a chance to win too. You are really helping The Dark Fae to move up in the votes. She was waaaay last, and now she’s in third place but only a vote behind 2nd place! Thanks, thanks, thanks! If you have ever loved a fae, thought of a fae, been a fae, hated a fae, wanted a fae, wanted to be a fae, give her a vote, please??? The underdog is the middle dog now! Woohoo, thanks to everyone who has voted for her. http://www.parajunkee.com/2014/05/26/vote-for-your-favorite-ya-audiobook-giveaway-sultry-listeners-awards/

So in between rain showers, I ran a bunch of errands. I have a painter coming this weekend to repaint my ceilings and I had to buy spray paint to paint the wrought iron. It’s coming along nicely. But I have to share a funny.

When I’m at the checkout counter, the clerk asked, “You’re over 18, aren’t you?”

Waaaay over 18. So at first, it took me aback. I mean, really?

Then I realized what it was about. Spray paint. Kids buying it to get high on it.

I didn’t say yes. I just said with a great big smile, “Thank you for asking. I haven’t had anyone ask that in years.”

LOL

She laughed and said she asked a man that and he assured her he was 85. And told her a couple of times. LOL

So, as I was spray painting, it was windy as usual. And though the wind was blowing away from me, I kept getting whiffs of the stuff.

Soooo, will that improve my writing or not? Some of our greatest, most famous artists and writers were drug addicts and alcoholics. With my luck, I’d just be brain dead.

Back to writing and if you wanted to and hadn’t had a chance to, The Dark Fae still could use a LOT of votes.

She’s desperate, and when she’s desperate, she causes mischief for me.

Computer outages, electrical outages…oh, sure, I could blame it on the storm, but I know better.

It all has to do with the fae.

Have a super great hump day.

Over halfway done on Her Highland Hero and I’m working toward reaching 40,000 today!

This was at the Bourbon House Seafood restaurant. Nobody probably noticed them, but I got the biggest kick out of them. Am I weird or what? Ask me the name of the restaurant, and I was clueless. I had to look up my receipt. Ask me about the kitchen doors and I can tell you what they said. 🙂

Writing on Her Highland Hero. Halfway done! Tried to weed yesterday because it rained and was easy to pull up grass and weeds. The problem when it gets wet? Fire ants are looking for a dry place. I hate fire ants. Anyway, someone told me to watch out that they bite.

I know. That’s how I knew they were on me. And, for anyone that doesn’t know, they are called fire ants for a reason. The bites feel like they are on fire. They cling to everything, so even if you have a hose on and you try to hose them down, several will cling to your feet and legs, wherever they’ve gotten to, your sandals, tennis shoes, whatever. And they’re small. But they have big teeth. They can leave big welts too. I love gardening, except for mosquitoes and fire ants.

Fun Review! http://literaladdictionparanormalbookclub.blogspot.com/2014/05/archive-literal-addictions-review-of_8298.html?zx=735b4f1e6cccb3ffOur Review, by LITERAL ADDICTION’s Pack Alpha – Chelle:

Jaguar Hunt is the 3rd book in the HEART OF THE JAGUAR series and may have been my favorite so far. It was a highly entertaining read with lovable characters, plenty of intrigue, a nice paced plot, and a great ending. While these books are all part of the series, they stand perfectly well on their own and do not need to be read in order.

I loved the mystery in Jaguar Hunt. The subterfuge, overlapping history and storylines, and the snippets from the character’s pasts that made the story so much deeper and more intriguing.

One of the best things about Jaguar Hunt, outside of the entertainment, mystery, and romance, were the supporting characters. I absolutely LOVED the twins, and I cannot wait to read their own books/novellas and find out more about them as the series progresses!

I would definitely recommend Jaguar Hunt for all paranormal romance fans, especially fans of Terry Spear and the series thus far.

Okay, back to writing about the Highlander. No fire ants in Scotland. Yes!

No Anonymous & Happy Memorial Day!

IMG_5935 (640x477)

More lovely buildings in New Orleans.

You ask what is No anonymous? It’s a support group for those of us who cannot say no.

Really. Or, at least if one doesn’t exist, it should.  Would I attend? Probably, if someone asked me because I can’t say the magic word: No.

When something becomes a problem in your life, whatever it is, it’s time to realize you have….a problem.

So there you have it. I am a Yes Person.

Sometimes I can say no. But you see, lots of folks think when I say no, it means maybe, if they can wear me down and get me to agree.

Sometimes I can say no and mean it. But that doesn’t happen often enough.

I told myself I would not schedule as many conferences this next year. I’ve already got 4 scheduled. Two are conflicting. How did that happen? Remember the magic word? I didn’t say it.

*sigh*

To my Higher Power,  I say, grant me the power to say no, more often! 🙂 And mean it. And not get talked into anything else.

But sometimes, I just want to say yes, because I think it’s a good idea, at the time… And then it’s too late to back out. You’d think I’d learn, but nope.

Do you ever find yourself saying YES! When you wished you had said, NO! 🙂

And with that note, I wish to salute all veterans, families of veterans and those who support them for Memorial Day and wish everyone a wonderful Monday wherever in the world you are today!

Finding Cool Stuff without Even Looking…

2 bunnies cornfield (491x640)

You see, all I did was went out to take a picture of the cornfields. I love it when they plant corn, while it’s green. I feel like I’m in a forest or jungle, green all around, vibrant, the air is filled with fresh oxygen, I feel like I’m in Scotland, or Ireland. So my mission: Take pictures of cornfields as it stretches up to the sky. And then???

Ohmigosh, I found two bunnies that were just too cute. They are my bonus bunnies. A bonus to the picture of the cornfields. Only I sort of focused on the bunnies instead. 🙂

IMG_5996 (640x553)I was having too much fun watching them, and they didn’t flee. But I really wanted to show just how high the corn has gotten already. The plants in front of the cornstalks are wheat, what they usually plant. And then sometimes the corn.

But while I’m taking the pictures, I noticed my wrought iron needs painting. So I had one can of spray paint and worked on two of the gates. I’m going to need a LOT of spray paint, or will just need to buy a can and paint that way.

IMG_6010 (640x428)

The bunnies actually hopped across the driveway and got really close to me and it made for a terrific picture. Don’t you think?

Still waiting on readers’ notes for SEAL so I can revise and turn it in. But in the meantime, I’m working on The Highlander’s Desire. I was working on The Viking’s Highland Lass. But sometimes another story will seem to fall in place faster. I’ve worked and reworked the opening of this one so many times in between stories, and am already at 27,000 words, so I think I will work on it until I get stuck. Or, I will just write the 43,000 words + and finish it. 🙂 Which would be the best scenario.  For yesterday and today, I have written 3,000 words. That means that I can finish it in a little over 14 days.  Maybe. If I don’t have tons of other things coming in to do.

Highlander's Desire (3)

Which reminds me, I need to listen to Mage of Monrovia to approve or request changes to the audiobook. Just did so on The Winged Fae today also.

Back to writing! Hope you all are having a lovely weekend!
