Vintage Truck in Fall

I took the photo of the rusted truck covered in plants and trees at a fall festival in Omaha one year. I finally played around with it to create this–where the plants reclaim their world.

Love vintage and rusted-out vehicles. They need some loving care.

I reached 50,000 words on Wolf Betrayal. Didn’t think I would get any words yesterday, but they finally came to me last night.

Another scorching day.

Midhope Castle Outer Building

I loved the outer buildings, this one covered with moss and ivy in Scotland. Midhope Castle was where some of Outlander was filmed.

Trying to figure out a way to replant chives without losing them in all this heat this time. I moved the box from the garden where I couldn’t easily water it and weed it. It’s on the patio now where I’ve grown them before. So hoping I can take care of them there and they’re thrive. The grandkids love cutting chives for our mashed potatoes.

It’s going to feel like the 100s for several more weeks. Ugh.

Orange Cat for Caturday!

Cats are so elegant. Whenever I see one, out comes the camera.

I’m at 44,000 words on Bear in Pursuit! Minimum goal is 70K, so getting there.

I wanted to get out and do some weeding, but it’s sooooo hot constantly and all sun today.

Wishing for Rain…but Snow Would Be Nice too!

Anything to cool down our sizzling weather. It felt like 107 on Tuesday, 104 on Wednesday, and 97 today, and 99 tomorrow and the next day. So it’s going mostly in the right direction. It’s around 74 instead of 80+ in the morning, so that’s good.

It was cloudy all day, so I got a lot of weeding and trimming done, but it was still 104 with the cloud cover. And the mosquitoes are awful. I wore bug repellent, but it didn’t last long. Plus, I moved a bag of dirt and it was covered by fire ants, so I got bitten.

But today, even though the high is 97, it’s going to be all sun, and that makes it feel even hotter.

Well, I’m off to write on Bear in Pursuit. I’m at 42,000!

It’s SOOOO Hot Out

I’m on the last 4 chapters of proofing The Chosen Fae!

I want so badly to weed, but it feels like 107 today. And the mosquitoes are ornery. Killed two in the house last night, but one got his bite in before that and my whole wrist is swollen. They are vicious!

Okay, back to proofing the book!

Storm Coming?

Despite the heat, I’ve been getting some hedge trimming done. We might get some of the storm that’s brewing in the Gulf. I hope we get rain, but not wind! I need to run in and get some groceries before that hits us, if it does. I took this picture of the clouds from an airplane.

And I made it to 19,000 words on Wolf Betrayal. Yay!

Off to get my day started. Hope yours is great and that we get rain!
