We had issues with rats this morning, dogs caught one. Tanner wouldn’t let it go. I had a drs. appt to go to. Time was running out. lol He wanted to bring the dead rat in the house. I finally took their dog food and was going to give them some outside, but they barged inside, luckily without the rat.
I put the rat out with the trash, fed them, and made it to my appt on time. lol
Hope your day isn’t quite so wild!

I took the photo of the alligator at the birding reserve on South Padre Island. They also had baby alligators and owls. It was a fun place. I had a blast.
Some of the alligators were raised there, but wild alligators would show up in the marshlands also. All of them are dangerous!
Okay, I’ve been working on Bear in Pursuit. I’m working on finishing it up. I keep thinking about where I’m going with it.
My grandson is staying with me and we’ve had a wonderful time. He turned 5! And we opened birthday presents, took a walk, got ice cream, read stories, and watched a kid’s program.
When we picked up my mail, I had a box of bulbs. Ack. So I need to plant those. And I mistakenly ordered bright white solar lights for the front yard, but already had soft yellow out there. Our mission is to plant the bulbs and move the white lights to the backyard, put together the yellow ones, and put them out front.
I’m fortunate that both my grandkids love to help grandma with projects. I got him a new pair of monster garden gloves so he can wear those for our next gardening adventure.
Off to get things done before he wakes! Have fun!

I moved all the pavers, except the ones underneath the ligustrum. But I managed to fill in the planting bed with soil and hostas. You can see their little white/green leaves coming up.
The ones way in the back are white-feathered hosta. They say once they get a lot of light, they’ll turn a pale green. But they’ll be pretty no matter what. This should be prettier than plain dirt!
Another project I was working on. This is a purple magic crepe myrtle. This is all shady so I added Turk’s cap that loves shade and has pretty red flowers that hummingbirds love. You can see a full-grown one behind it to the right. So the new ones should fill that all in.
I’ve been working on another project, but ran out of pavers, like usual. 🙂
I’m off to do some more work.
Hope your week is going great!

Blanket flowers and coreopsis! I’d planted the seeds a couple of years ago, right before I was hospitalized for 5 weeks. They’re perennials and they keep returning. But until they’re flowering, I’m like–are those weeds??? So I have to be patient and wait for the flowers to pop out!
I’m still working on the flowerbed. I had to do blood work yesterday, and moved a bunch of pavers and dirt, but still have a long way to go. I wish I felt better so I could just get it done. 🙂
I moved the pavers around the rosebush, along where the grass stops and the dirt starts. I moved two of the pavers to the left center to pull a cart loaded with dirt into the area. I still need to cut back the sunshine ligustrum (left), but chickadees were having fits when I was working at night in there. So they might have a nest in there.
So I will wait on that, or really look for the nest, if one is in there. But maybe they’re in one of the birdhouses.
I still need to add a few more pavers to finish the area to the left. And I’m moving the pavers around the sunshine ligustrum to somewhere else. And I need to clean the pavers too. So still a lot of work. Then??? I need to get the hostas in the ground!
I have to take Tanner in to have his teeth cleaned this morning. It’s hard because both of my Havanese are chow hounds. But I can’t feed them because Tanner can’t eat until after the teeth cleaning. I can’t sneak food to Max. So he’ll have to wait until I leave Tanner off at the vet clinic, then I can feed Max.
Blood counts and platelets had gone down, but they were still okay enough that I don’t need blood or platelets. Yay! I’m off chemo for two weeks now, but still feeling bad.
Hope you are having a terrific day!!!
