Snow Leopard

I have 3 snow leopards in my polar bear series, 3 brothers that I want to write about. This is a photo I took in Omaha, and the snow leopard is Photoshop painted, then added Daily Texture winter overlays.

I managed to get my 2,000 word count yesterday for Cougar Christmas yesterday, despite feeling miserable. I had an awful sore throat for the last 3 days and all through the night. I knew every time I swallowed, it hurt so bad. Then I think I finally was so tired, I fell asleep. This morning, my throat feels much better. I’ve coughed for the last two days, headaches, sinus issues. I’m hoping by Thanksgiving Day I’ll be feeling better. I think it’s just a cold. Little one gave it to me from her daycare. At least I hope that’s all it is.

I’ve been editing through the story, making changes to fit other changes I made later on, but have some ideas I need to start writing in the story. Still need to do the proofing on The Wolf Wore Plaid.

Have a great day! I’m off to get mine started!

Snow Leopard Leaping for Freedom

Image may contain: outdoor

I created this using Out-of-Bounds videos on Youtube. It was the perfect picture for it because of the way the snow leopard was leaping off his bed.

Have to run into the grocery store. Absolutely don’t want to, but have to. Then I have to get busy on writing.

Have a great day!!

Cheetah Cubs…

We walked 6 and 1/2 miles through a forest reserve yesterday, going to an arboretum today. We saw a deer, white tail flashing before it disappeared down the ravine, cardinals, and some other bird, I wasn’t sure of. I took pictures and will show some off tomorrow.

Here are some pretty kitties we saw at the zoo the other day: cheetahs and their cubs, bobcat and a snow leopard. One of my favorite pictures I’d taken at the zoo a couple of years ago was of the cheetah. So how exciting it was to find that the cheetah pair had five cubs!

Okay, off to write, wrote 2,000 words yesterday, and then it’s time to take more pictures.

Enjoy your day!!!

Wolves and Snow Leopards

I love both. And I was very fortunate to get beautiful shots of each of these. The 2-year old emergent Arctic wolf alpha at the International Wolf Center, Ely, MN, and the snow leopard, Como Zoo, MN.

I’m working on Cougar Magic now, and I rarely capture good pictures of cougars in captivity, so I don’t have many to show. Of course one of my troubles has been that I didn’t know to change my ISO to capture faster moving critters back then. Most of the ones I saw were on the move. A few were resting so far up in the rocks, it was hard to capture good images. But maybe someday. And we couldn’t see the one at the Como Zoo at all. Exhibit, no cat.

Despite having baby for all day, and then again from 6:45 pm until 10:30 pm, I managed somehow to wrangle another 3,000 words out. I usually can’t. Shows that if I put my mind to it, AND the scenes are coming to me, I can do it. I have to say baby is very needy, wanting attention, or to be held when she’s getting sleepy, that it’s not like she’s at the age where she can sit and draw or something. But she did take 4 hours worth of naps, and I managed to get her to sleep by 8 pm last night, so I had another 2 1/2 hours to write.

Speaking of which, I’m on a forward momentum now, so off to get some more word count down. I’m at 16,000! So I’ve bypassed the number of 15,000 on Claiming the White Bear. I got stuck there, but I’ll do some brainstorming and push through that one too soon. I need to write my next fae book too and I want to finish one of the other YA vampire stories I’ve started. Not sure what my word count is on them, but they’re in the plans. And then I need to figure out what I want to write for the next wolf stories for 2020. It’s neverending, and what fun!

Have a great day!!!!! I’m excited to be running around in the cougar world creating mischief. They are in so much trouble.  Let’s see if they can get out of it on their own…

A Mix of Reality and Fantasy…

Yesterday, I shared a picture of Eilean Donan in a fantasy world. I added cliffs reflecting in the water on the Isle of Skye (just love how glassy the water can be and the beautiful reflections that can be captured in Scotland!)…so that it looks like the fairy mushrooms are now a long distance from the castle, and the castle is no longer floating in the sky. I love both, but this just gives a different story.

Here is a picture of a snow leopard I captured in a shot at the Omaha Zoo. In Loving the White Bear, a polar bear shifter story set in Alaska, three brother snow leopards also live, and this is Simon. He and his brothers are on vacation in a nice fantasy spot. It appears he is grooming himself after he went fishing. Do you think the koi will catch the dragonfly? Nope! He makes a narrow escape. And that’s my story!

I wrote nearly 4,000 words yesterday, rained most of the day, but I also got out in between rain showers and dug up more grass. Yes! Then I remembered my daughter’s corgis are staying with me for a week. Ack! If they run through the plant border, which they’re bound to do, and we keep having rain…what a mess! So I’ll have to cover it with planter boxes until I can get some bark mulch. Even then, I think they’ll end up getting muddy. So I’ll just block it. We’re supposed to have rain again today and tomorrow. Haven’t checked the weather yet, but I hope to run errands…if I don’t melt…

Have a wonderfully, fantastic day!!!

Beautiful Creatures

A tabby cat looking to eat my birds.
A snow leopard on the prowl.
An Arctic wolf watching us.

I’ve never used Lightroom before because I didn’t know how to! But here is a great video on how you can use it.

Okay, got to get a promo blog to my publicist!!!! And I’m behind, but catching up on Billionaire.

Raven with plum 900 29

This is a picture of Raven, her boyfriend took it of her in a graveyard. I added her to a backdrop I purchased and added a raven I’d taken a picture of in Daytona Beach. I’ll be creating a Raven Fae book featuring her!

Off to write before the day gets even more away from me.
