I was in a pink mood. Gold yesterday. Green tomorrow. White one day. Blue another. Colors can evoke emotions. I have to remember to include them in my writing.
I’m a little over halfway done on proofing Relative Danger. I’m hoping to get it done today. No grandchild care, so I’m free to just work on this. The dogs are bugging me to eat. I got up at 4:30, way too early to feed them, though I took them out in the dark this morning to potty. So that’s next on the agenda. And then back to proofing.
I have an infestation of moths. I must have let in a pregnant one and now I’m constantly killing moths. ugh.
I’m off to feed the ravenous dogs!! And walk them before it gets too hot. Oh, it’s cooler today. Yay! Just checked the weather forecast. Maybe storms around 11. Not holding my breath. They’ve been saying that for three days.
Have a super great day! Mine’s going to be great with the cool down and hopeful rain! And working on the green fairy art too. 🙂
I love fairies and wolves. Well, and a lot of other things.
I just finished edits on Wolf Takes the Lead and turned it in. I started working on editing Relative Danger, previously released. I have a new cover for it, so I want to update it.
Still taking care of my granddaughter, so once she goes home, I can concentrate on it and maybe get it done by the weekend and then republish it with the new title. Then? It’s time to get back to Lachlan’s story. Sometimes it helps me to write on a current story after I’ve read a couple of others I had to work on. I’ll reread it from beginning to end and then hopefully be able to figure out how to finish it.
Another hot day. No rain. *sigh* Maybe Thursday we’ll get some, but I’m not holding my breath.
My daughter is at a conference, so I’m helping out with my granddaughter. My SIL called to say baby has a fever and bad congestion, so I told him I’d keep my granddaughter 2 more nights instead of 1 more night. We were playing chicken foot dominoes last night, then bath time and story time and bedtime.
We took both dogs for a walk in the morning, spent a couple of hours at the pool, had a great time!
She’ll go to school today and I’ll be able to work some more on edits on Wolf Takes the Lead. I’m at chapter 20. Ten more to go so hope to make a big dent in it until I pick her up from school and she stays overnight again.
Hope you all have a grand day!! I’m getting stuff done, but having fun too!
I created this for a challenge for the Tara Lesher course I’m in. She wanted us to do something vintage and I had taken this photo of my daughter and her corgi about 7 years ago at Thanksgiving that always looked vintage to me. I changed out the modern stove, removed the dishwasher, cabinets, and added Alexas Photos stove on Pixabay, Lynne Anzelc’s Brewed and Cobblestone scrap art elements and several texture layers.
Okay, so I received Wolf Takes the Lead to go through the copyedits. Still working on Lachlan’s story. I only had 4 hours of sleep, my bad. I didn’t go to bed until midnight, and then I woke at 5. But actual sleep was 4 hours. I can never sleep in, but I thought I had done a little better than that!
I’ve been taking the dogs for a walk each morning, separately. Tanner tugs too much, and they both go crazy when they see a small dog they want to meet and greet. They love them. So I started taking two walks before it gets too hot. I had bought a chest collar, rather than a neck collar and because they have such delicate necks, I started using it on them. It holds them back via their chest instead of choking them. They choke themselves, especially Tanner, trying to rush off here and there. Max is much more chill.
All right, back to the real world. Got to turn in Wolf Takes a Lead by July 6. I’ll be taking care of my daughter’s corgis for about a week also. Hmmm, 4 doggy walking trips in the morning? Pass. Rilo is a massive corgi and he pulls just as badly, only he’d pull me over. Luna is taller, part corgi, not sure about her. She might be all right.
I like creating “realistic” scenes, rather than just a hodgepodge of art scraps because I’m a storyteller at heart. So this one I used Oscraps backgrounds and Foxey Squirrel’s goat, my clouds, the girl I created with Daz3D and the Capricorn mermaid goat, piglet and his toy piggy are also Daz3D. 🙂
I managed to get to 87,000 words on Lachlan’s story. I wrote the new scene, had to do tons of research for it, which is always fun because I learn new things, but it took all day. But I also figured out where to put the new conflict scene, just need to write it now.
I’m off to do edits and write and hope you all have a lovely weekend!! Don’t you wish you could find this idyllic spot to enjoy?
I’m nearly to 86K, but spent 3 hours at the pool with my granddaughter. She is learning to swim under the water and so proud of herself. I’m proud of her. So I told her we could spent another hour, instead of our normal 2, there if she really wanted to swim. (Not play on the pool stairs.) I keep hoping the YMCA will open one of these days and we can go there in the winter. They were put off for 2 years I think it was because of Hurricane Harvey destroying 2 others. Then with Covid, they didn’t begin working on ours. They built the tennis courts because they’re out in the open. So I’m hoping they’ll have the Y open one of these years.
Okay, I’m off to walk before it gets too hot, work on the story and hopefully get somewhere with it today. I had a great idea for another scene and I have another idea I want to incorporate for conflict. So I’ll try to work on both of those today.
And then there was the dangerous wildlife we had to avoid, blue and purple flags warning everyone, and red flags were flying for strong currents.
The girl under the umbrella next to us fished out 2 more while she’d been in the water. I picked one up when I was a young girl vacationing with my parents in Florida, thought it was a purple balloon, went into shock, hands swelled up 3 times their normal size, ran a fever and chills and of course, it hurt lots!
We had a blast at South Padre Island! It was cooler than home, which is getting to 106 heat index daily!
Off to work. I’ve been pulling out tomato plants that flower and never fruit. The other tomato plants next to them need the water.
