They’re not the only ones on the prowl…but they’re
the most dangerous…
The United Shifter Force gives jaguar agent Howard Armstrong an impossible task—to protect fierce she-jaguar Valerie Chambers, when the last thing she wants is protecting. They’re going international to take down a killer and he can guard Valerie all day long. But guard his heart? He doesn’t stand a chance.
I’d rather write, but I need to ship some books and get my car safety inspected so I can get my new car registration. Don’t you hate it when other stuff gets in the way of stuff you have to and want to do?
Just get it done and get back to what you have to/need to do! Otherwise? It is hanging over your head like a big, dark cloud. And the worst of it is? Stuff like that starts to stack up. I also need to start gathering all my stuff for taxes. ugh. I want to finish this book, but I’ll probably start gathering stuff soon. Don’t put off until tomorrow what you can do today. And then? You’ll feel better. Hopefully. lol
Goes out the window when baby is here. But if it was a regular day, I’d be writing! She’s eating breakfast, watching Vikings riding dragons. It’s important to see good dragons and not always growly ones to have some perspective!
Have a great day. We’re headed for the weekend and that means??? More writing for me!
I was so busy with taking care of baby yesterday and having her dad for dinner and working on Wolff brother’s story, that I totally forgot that You Had Me at Jaguar was out today!!!!!

Well, it’s not a shifter Halloween, but You Had Me at Jaguar has both wolves and jaguars in it.
I’m off to do some more promo-ing on the book. Can’t believe I didn’t already do this, but I’ve been trying to get lots more done on Wolff brother–so that has been my focus for the last 4 no-baby days!
Have a beautiful day!!! And remember, not all jaguars are shifters, so be careful which one you hug.
Every once in a while, there’s some major news about an author stealing passages from other authors’ books. Here’s a new one on me: taking recipes from online recipes, passages from Wikipedia in their entirety, AND stealing passages from authors’ books, THEN sending these to ghost writers to turn into books. Quickly! She’s a Brazilian “author” and a lawyer, she knows better, and she even was brash enough to enter one of her books in the RITA awards contest–which is a big deal in the romance writer’s association. She said that Fiverr folks did it, but then ghost writers have been coming out of the woodwork saying that she sent them the passages and told them to incorporate them in her books. They didn’t realize they’d been plagiarizing works.
Bent out of shape sunflower–where there’s a will, there’s a way!
So, she’s pulled her books down from sale’s sites, RWA has removed her book from the awards’ consideration, she’s closed her Facebook and other social networking sites, shut down her website, she’s been outed.
Okay, folks, here’s a hint: Readers read other authors’ books. When we write our books, they don’t read only OURS. If they love a certain genre, they will read several books in that genre. If a writer steals passages from other authors, guess what happens? Fans will notice! They do!
I’ve written a couple of romance time travels, one still needing revision and hasn’t been published, but I loved reading them. Mine isn’t like anyone else’s. I don’t want my books to be a copy of anyone else’s. But I remember reading reviews on one author’s work on her time travels on Amazon, thinking I’d buy her books because I love time travels and there aren’t that many of them, and man, was she being blasted for copying other time travel authors’ books’ (major authors), passages shared on the reviews–they had her number. Of course, I didn’t buy her books.
Lots of my readers re-read my books over and over again. They know them better than I do. So if they do that with mine, they do that with others, and if we’re copying each others’ books, what do you think will happen? Fans will tell on the offending writer! Really! It’s happened a number of times. No one knows until readers out them.
There was a YA writer who did the same thing. She made New York Times Bestseller! She is at one of the Ivy League colleges and her English instructor said he couldn’t believe it. Her writing was not exemplary. Her daddy had payed handsomely to get her into the college because she kept doing so poorly on the entrance exams. Then what happened? She was found out! Numerous fans of other YA works shared the plagiarized passages and all of a sudden, the famous college student was outed! She was proven to be a FRAUD.
What’s incredible too is that the plagiarizer of the romance books even dedicated a book to herself for all the hard work she does writing her books. Ha!
It’s frustrating for those of us who work and work and work at this stuff, trying to come up with new ideas, new ways of saying the same thing–falling in love, making the commitment, solving plots–when someone is gaming the system. See, it’s not just that she’s stealing other authors’ work, but she’s getting the books out there as fast as she can, and the more books you have out in a shorter period of time, the better your rankings. I’m a fast writer, but dang, I wish I could put out a book a week and not have to work so hard.
Yet, I truly love what I do, and I own the characters, the stories, and my name is on my work for MY work.
Okay, baby is on her way soon and I’ve got to get some writing done! I’m nearly 8,000 words ahead on my word count–all my words too! Even though I say I’m ahead, this is just to make minimum word count. The books usually run longer–by 10,000-20,000 words, so I need the extra time to write the extra words.
That means your house has good insulation, right? I was shocked to go outside and find it was 71 degrees out first thing. It is winter! Strong wind blowing, felt great, walked back inside and it feels like I have the air conditioner on. I don’t, but it felt like it. The temperature will drop again, but it’s just such a shock to be this warm, this early in the morning! In winter! My flowers think spring has sprung. I’m afraid we’re going to get a shock and end up in the Ice Age one of these mornings. Flagstaff, Arizona had the first major snowstorm, 36 inches of snow, they’ve had in 104 years, so, no telling!
I’m 2,000 words ahead on Wolff Brother and I hope to keep up the pace if I can. The more ahead I get, the less behind I get when I have to do more edits on other books that need final proofing and whatnot. And then I can start on the next deadline book.
African daisy and coreopsis in bloom!
So my friend tells me that her weather app shows it’s going to rain. Mine shows fog. I took the dogs out and got drenched. Her app was right.
Have a super lovely day. I’m writing while I’m drying out. So much for weather reports!

Freebies and new releases! Okay, I’m off to continue trying to keep up and get ahead on my deadline goals. I caught up yesterday with 5,000 words and did lots of weeding the garden in the cold misty rain. Much better than doing it in the hot mosquitoy sun in the summer where the soil is baked and pulling up weeds is so much harder. And much better than singing in the rain. You would really not want to hear me singing in the rain or otherwise.

These highlanders are fierce warriors–in human or wolf form.
Something is chasing her! Daddy. Wait, I found a leaf. Playing chase was halted for a moment. Such is the life of a toddler.
I could say that somehow through a miracle I managed to not only take care of my granddaughter, AND finish up the SEAL Wolf Team to the Rescue novella and turned it in last night to beat the March 1st deadline, DONE!!! AND whittled down being 14,000 words behind on Wolff Brother (working title), to being 3,000 words behind to a miracle, but really, it was work, and Keira’s 3 hour-long naps, and giving her little candy boxes from a gift basket I received at Christmas (empty candy boxes) that she played with for hours, opening and closing the little flaps, sticking a rubber star into the one, pulling it out, sticking it in–all engineering feats, I’m sure, and having some ideas that came to me that allowed me to go forward!
Fun work and I’m feeling great about the progress! Okay, so I’ve had requests for writing sequel books for: The Magic of Inherian–the third book in the trilogy, Emerald Isle of Mists, and the second book in Ghostly Liaisons. Both were started and I looked and I still have them. Sometimes I’ve had major computer crashes and I have lost a couple of stories. I also have the 2 sequels to Kiss of the Vampire (YA) started. And I was asked where Bound for Trouble, the sequel to Bound by Danger, was??? It”s also written, but needs major revisions. I work on it periodically when I’m not in a deadline panic. And usually when I’m trying to come up with an idea on a new deadline book. It helps me to be doing SOMETHING writing-wise, makes me feel like I’m accomplishing something.
My daughter asked me the other day how many books I have published. Around 70. How many books have I written that I haven’t published yet? Needing major revisions, around 20. How many started books? Around 15. So what am I doing about it???
Laughing. It took me a year to finally finish writing Claiming the White Bear and it took me 8 years to write the sequel to Shadow Elf, Darkland Elf. I think it was 3 years to write Demon Hunter, which is the third demon YA story. It’s not that I don’t want to write the other books, but I have a ton of HAVE TO books to write each year. And it seems the number keeps going up. The others WILL get done. Eventually.
Speaking of which, I’m off to write! Have a fun-filled, productively fun day!
Baby is here again and then I have 4 days of writing. I’m hoping to get caught up. Most of the Highland Wolf books are still on sale!
I am trying to write 3,000 words a day so I can be less behind, but I need to finish edits on the novella for SEAL Wolf Team to the Rescue and turn it in too.
It turned rainy and cold so I’ve been doing a lot of weeding. The weeds outnumber the population of all the people of the earth though. I’m certain of it! And I’m pretty sure that every time I pull up five weeds, ten more are taking their place, as if I just made room for them.
Okay, I’m off to take care of baby and hope I can get some writing done on my off writing day to make up some more on my word count. I’m 10,000 behind. But that’s down from 14,000, so that’s good!
Have a great day! I was enjoying the overcast one, but I missed seeing the super moon. I hope you got a glimpse of it!

Ride ’em wolfie! She’s back! Usually I have a four day-break to write. lol
Okay, I’m determined to get something done today. Hopefully. Fingers uncrossed because I have to type. I did manage to get 1500 words written yesterday and today is a non-writing day, so hope to get maybe a 1,000. It just depends if I can get an idea or not!
