Have you ever felt really sick, nauseated, and you know if you could just get rid of what ails you, you’d feel better? Note to self: Do not throw up in sink. What a mess. So much better to use the toilet, if I could have made it in time.
My poor puppies were wondering what was going on with me at 1:30 in the morning. They knew it wasn’t time to get up.
I’ve been feeling so bad since early in the evening, couldn’t get to sleep in forever. I rarely, rarely, rarely vomit, no matter how sick I am. But I know if I can get rid of the food that’s causing me distress, I’d be able to move past the episode. Then I woke, feeling the nausea growing. I feel so much better now.
Food poisoning? Probably. *Sigh* Now maybe I can get some sleep. Since I couldn’t get to sleep earlier, I did manage to finish my word count for yesterday, one good thing.

I turned in Wolff Bros after working the rest of Wednesday and Thursday proofing it and I’m 2,000 word count behind on Billionaire She-Wolf. But now I hope to catch up.
I had a beginning, but no real plot. For a romance, I’ve been told, you have to have the hero and heroine meet early on, and so I had an idea for the meetup. Everyone’s on vacation, I’m trying to keep my story from getting so hugely populated, so I’ve started out with three people.
Now, I have to work in the plot. I was watching a program about Lorraine Bobbitt and that ordeal, and then they mentioned about Tonya Harding and Nancy Kerrigan, Olympic ice skaters and sabotaging Nancy’s career due to Tonya’s husband hiring a hitman. So this morning, I was thinking about that. And coming up with a plot for my current story.
In Wolff Bros, I have no body count at all. I usually end up with a high body count, or at least three or four. None? *sigh* I’ve already planned a dead guy in the beginning of this story. I’m back in the game.
That’s how I do it in my Mad Hatter kind of way. Sometimes I can come up with a plot from the outset, but sometimes, I have to just get them to meet and then go from there.
I’m off to write. Baby now has fifth disease, a red rash all over her face. This is all viral and it will just go away on its own, but her poor little immune system is just having fits with keeping up with all of this.
Well, baby was dropped off and she’s still sick. *sigh* So is her momma. I finally settled her down with breakfast and preschool shapes cartoon and she seems to be doing better.
Maybe we won’t have a play day but a snuggle day instead. Have a great one!
My granddaughter was running a fever on Monday and since I’m still trying to get over the crud she gave me, my daughter stayed home with her. So, I had a day to make 2,000 words, right? Which I filled up with other stuff. Not that I didn’t need to do the other stuff. Sometimes when I’m getting near the end of a book, and I’m sick, I don’t get regular stuff done. So I’m playing catch up.
And, I had to work on beta read edits on Wolff Bros, which still needs to be turned in. Waiting on a couple of more emails from one beta reader to do the final 12 chapter edits, but in the meantime, I’ll also be rereading the first 10 chapters to make sure I didn’t add in new mistakes.
And I’m going to try and get my word count in today for Billionaire She-Wolf. I did write 1,000 yesterday.
Okay, I’m excited to say I’ve started on Billionaire She-Wolf Ready for Action! I have the first 2,000 words, and from now on, except for granddaughter days, I hope to get 2,000 words a day. She’s running a fever again this morning and since I’m still trying to get over being sick, her momma is keeping her home. Which is a good thing for me!
That means I’m doing more spring cleaning, picking up bark mulch to spread on the flowerbeds (started to, but ran out), and pulling more weeds. But also, writing on my unscheduled day. Yay!

Sometimes you can claim something as your own, and sometimes you need to just give it up to someone, or something, that wants it worse.
I’m done!!!!! 17,000 words over word count and the book is finished and I did the marketing materials and it’s done! Now the book is with my beta readers, I sent the marketing materials in, and I finished planting dianthus, daylilies and flower seeds and weeded some more.
I set up a folder for the next book: Billionaire She-Wolf Ready for Action. That’s my working title anyway. I have Chapter 1 done. As in Chapter 1. Not the chapter. But hey, it’s a beginning!
But today, I’m cleaning the house. And then, I’m going to continue thinking about the new book, and then begin to write it!

So I was trying to get to my granddaughters ENT appointment. She had tubes put in her ears for the constant infections. There were two bad accidents, the traffic was piled up for three miles, and I was late. Then I couldn’t find the children’s hospital. Then I couldn’t find the right place to go in the children’s hospital. AND she felt asleep on the way over, she really needed it, but I was trying to rush through the hospital with a 25 pound toddler sleeping on my shoulder, and a 15 pound diaper bag, and a 3 pound purse hanging off the other. I felt like I was on army maneuvers fighting against the enemy–time.
The good news was I was late and I didn’t have to wait any time at all. Oh, except I had to prove I should have the baby. Okay, folks, why would I take my granddaughter to an ear appointment if I wasn’t supposed to? I could think of a lot more fun things to do. Anyway, after they scanned my driver’s license, I was in the doctor’s office, and then the doctor said her ears looked great, no infection, no fluid in the ears, BUT, she thought she might have pink eye. UGH.
So after the doctor’s appointment, Grandma showed her the fish in the tanks (all fish are Dory), the pretty potted plants, which she delighted in seeing her own reflection in, the beautiful artwork sick children had created, and then the wall mural, had to get a pretty picture. Then I called her momma with the good news and the bad. Day cares mean that the sickness cycles through the place every two weeks. Remove clothes when she gets home from daycare and wash.
By the time we got home, I had an email from my daughter. New doctor’s appointment for that afternoon. At least that one is really close by, no accidents, and I left in plenty of time. She was sound asleep on the way over, I had to rock her in my arms while standing because if I sit, she would wake up, and she actually stayed asleep through the weighing, temperature check and other vital signs checks. Prognosis, both eyes have pink eye. Not bacterial (the eyes would have crusty discharge), but viral from all the stuff she’s been sick of for the last two weeks. So Grandma took her to the grocery store to pick up her eye drops, she has them for 5 days, and by then, she should be all cleared up. Before I have to take care of her again. lol
In any event, I’m glad she was fine otherwise. It meant I didn’t get to do anything with my writing except get through two more chapters to edit. So hoping I’ll get a LOT further today!

I love the little Caroline anoles. They change colors, depending on where they’re sitting. I like their green color best. The bumblebees and honeybees are busy now, and unfortunately, so are the fire ants. I was out weeding yesterday, moving more Asian Lilies and finding the bad ants. The butterflies were fluttering around in mating dances too. It’s spring!
I wrote two of the scenes I needed and edited the prologue and first 2 chapters yesterday. Today is baby day and I have to take her to a drs. appt and we’ll probably get groceries. I keep running out. How is that happening? I think I’ve bought everything I need and then wait, there’s only one of those left in the package?
Hopefully, I’ll get some editing done today and write the final scene and finish editing tomorrow.
Monarch butterflies frolicking in the garden, laying eggs, enjoying the warm weather and starting the next generation. I picked up flower seeds and dianthus and daylilies to plant.
Mostly sleeping through the night, yay! Coughing during the day, which I don’t mind as long as I sleep through the night! I wrote a little last night after the baby left. She’s so funny. When her mom and I talk, she talks too, just chattering away. Imitating us. lol But of course she doesn’t make any sense. Still, she knows a lot of vocabulary and sometimes she surprises us with words and phrases we didn’t think she knew. Plus, she repeats a lot of songs on TV, and she was counting with the Lil Baby Bum program yesterday. She can sort colors and she knows a lot of shapes. She’s growing up! It’s fun to see her learning so much. She has a mind of her own though!
Okay, I’m off to try and write some more, maybe get most of the rest of the book done today, baby’s here tomorrow, and then on Thursday I hope to finish any last scenes. I still need to write 3 more. After that, I have to read it all the way through.
