I loved the discrepancy in the two animals heights, both with long necks and long legs at the zoo when I took this picture, but the background had fences, so I did the composite to show off the animals better.
We swapped out days that I have my granddaughter so she should be here any minute. My daughter and I were swapping seeds so I need to plant some more. Green zinnia? Can’t wait to see them grow in my garden. Off to get ready!

WHILE THE WOLF’S AWAY is a moving story about two steadfast lovers, as well as a triumphant tale of female friendship and empowerment. I loved the side story involving Elizabeth’s friend Sheri. This was a great bit of storytelling involving female friendships.
Elizabeth couldn’t leave her dying grandmother and though she was pretty much shunned by the pack members and the leader – a hardhearted, chest thumping alpha – Kintail, isn’t about to let her leave his pack. But Elizabeth is not going to stay after her gran dies, but he doesn’t need to know that. An elaborate plan is set into motion, but will it work, and will the dictator alpha let it go?

Terry Spear writes a romantic, tension filled story that keeps the reader on the edge with what will happen next. She keeps you wondering on when the confrontation will come and what will happen once it comes. As the two main characters get closer you are cheering for them to find true love. I look forward to more stories from this favorite author and can’t wait for the next White Wolf book.

I love Terry’s books and this one is no exception. The book’s well-written with well-rounded characters, some of whom you’ll like and others you won’t. The story has romance and long distance love between mates with the magic of waiting. It also has intrigue and suspense that’ll keep you on the edge of your seat. I really enjoyed visiting the white wolves again and am eager for more of Terry’s books. I highly recommend both book and series which I suggest you read in order.

I managed 3,000 words on the Highland wolf book yesterday, despite all the celebrating. We had fun–my SIL’s birthday, my birthday, my granddaughter’s graduation from preschool to kindergarten.
It’s really hot this morning, so going to take my walk and then trim some trees and write. And play with artwork! When it’s this hot, it’s always nice to swim.
Out in the country in Central Texas, the skies are huge and storm clouds and sunsets can truly be dramatic. With houses and trees blocking the sky here, it’s hard to get a vista like this.
It’s chilly this morning. Love it! It’s supposed to get to 95. So I need to get out and enjoy this while I can.
But I’m also off to write. We’re celebrating birthdays today, did preschool graduation last night, so busy, busy. Need to write!
I managed to get my word count yesterday. I can’t believe I only need 24,000 words to finish the minimum word count. The book always ends up longer, but when I first begin, it always seems like I’ll never get there.
Little one will be here any second, so got to run. Hope you all have an excitingly fun day!
It was hot and sunny when I took the picture. I’ll have to take another when the lighting is better and with my camera, not my phone. The orange is just like this. Brilliant!
Have you ever seen something and wished you’d gotten it right then and there? Well, I saw these beautiful orange roses at the grocery store yesterday morning. They rarely have them, and they’re the only ones that get them. I’d never seen orange before. I have several other colors. I just adore them and this is the only place I’ve ever had success with growing them. So I picked up the orange ones and planted them and shared them yesterday. EVERYONE loved them. Me too. I decided to go back today to get the other orange one and maybe the hot pink. Pink and orange or purple and orange look great together. But they were all sold out and she didn’t know when they’d get any more in.
Sigh. So if you love something, don’t hesitate. It might not be there the next time you look.
I also picked up some bananas. I rarely eat them though I know they’re good for you. But I told my granddaughter about how I’d have them as a kid. Brown sugar and milk and bananas cutup. She asked me Monday if we could have them, but I didn’t have any bananas. So yesterday, I planned to pick a couple up and forgot. If it’s not on the list, not something I normally buy, I forget. Since I couldn’t find my roses, I grabbed a couple of bananas.
Tomorrow is her graduation from preschool, so we’re celebrating!

We had a really wild night–heavy storms, quiet, heavy storms, quiet, heavy storms, quiet. At least I could take my dogs out this morning and it wasn’t raining. Looks like I might make it to my dentist appointment without getting caught in a downpour. But afterwards, we could be getting them again. Our roads out of the development flood with these kinds of rains, so I wouldn’t be able to make it.

We’re supposed to have rain on and off all day, severe thunderstorms through the night, and around the time I have to go to the dentist in the morning. But I’m loving the cooler weather for the moment.
Oh, and I had a BIG rat get on the bird feeder yesterday, looked me right in the eye in the middle of the day and skeedaddled. ugh. I’ve caught 8 rats so far. The pest control guy put some traps in the attic. I had heard one in the wall.

We had nearly two inches of rain since 2:30 this morning, violent thunderstorms, so when it stopped, I was out tying up tomato plants and weeding. This will probably be the coolest it will ever be again until winter!
Created this yesterday! Reading takes me to someplace really magical. Maybe even here! Writing does the same for me! And so does creating fantastical art! 🙂

We’re swimming today. Really going to be hot again. So this is the best thing to do. But on Sunday, thunderstorms are rolling in and cooling off things. Yay!!! Supposedly, we’re having thunderstorms and cooler weather through Thursday, but I’ll believe it when I see it. And then the temperatures shoot back up. This is unusual for it to be this hot for so long so early in May.
I managed to get 3,000 words yesterday on the story. Which was great. Only 3,000 words behind now. Hopefully, I can keep it up as long as I can figure out more story as I go.
