Bluebird ready to fly. A whole bunch of bluebirds, this one included, flew toward my living room window when I was writing a book. They were going under the eave, targeting yellow jackets building a nest. Instant bug control.
Now, if only they would work on the yellow jackets around here!
We had wild storms last night. Two inches of rain! We really needed it!
I planted some seeds while it was raining. It’s a great time to plant!
Hope your day is going great! I think the chemo is getting to me this morning. Feeling queasy. 🙁 It’s been a week on the chemo.

It’s amazing how they can turn their head so far around on their body!
Yesterday, I did manage to get 1,000 words done, and I cut back on some crepe myrtle branches. Their trunks are so beautiful, but then they shoot up all kinds of new shoots, some that crisscross and wear on other branches, and this is the time to cut them back before the crepe myrtles leaf out and flower. I have a ton of them since they have volunteered in places where I didn’t plant them. Which is mostly everywhere. I only planted 5. The others have come from birds, I think, because they are different-colored flowers from the 5 that I planted.
They are beautiful, but I just have to keep after them a bit so they stay that way. They say to let them have trunks in a multiple of 3 or 5 or 7, that they’re more aesthetically pleasing to the eye that way.
I’m also cutting back Esperanza that died during the frost, but is coming back at the roots, and other flowering plants like that. Some made it through the frost, others didn’t, but they’re all coming back from the roots.
I’m off to write before I don’t have the chance to.
Have a fun-filled day!

Injured hawk owl at the Wolf Park in Omaha. Beautiful bird.
Before it was really light out, I cut down some more crepe myrtle volunteers to put out with the trash. Ran off to get groceries and ship books. Now I’m back home, and it’s time to finally write!
Hope you are enjoying a bright and beautiful day!

Usually when I see an ad for something, I’m skeptical, right? But I checked on Amazon and they had a wax for wood that looked like it might really help with revitalizing my front door and some older wood pieces of furniture. A couple of years ago, some salesman came to my door and said they refinished doors for $300-$400. So what could it hurt to try an $8 bottle of wax?
I was feeling better yesterday for the first time in a long time, so I washed the door over and over, and boy was it dirty. Then I coated it with the wax. I’m going to put a second coat on today. I don’t know if it will last really well, but even with one coat, it looks great. After I finish the 2nd coat today, I’ll share pictures tomorrow.
I also had a spot on my desk where the finish was ruined when I put an alcohol pad on top of tissue on my desk when I was flushing out my picc line. It took the finish right off. So I applied a little oil to that one spot. It still is damaged but it looks sooo much better.
I ordered some stuff to repair my recliner’s footrest. It’s vinyl and the dogs sit there all the time. So they’ve worn it off. It’s for leather and vinyl and everyone’s photos look so good that I’m going to try it out. It hasn’t come in yet, but I’m eager to work on it and I’ll show before and after pictures whether it works or not.
Okay, I’m off to get ready to write. I’ve taken off the last two days, but I want to get back to it.

I love it when birds fluff up their feathers, giving them a more 3-D appearance. The macaw was beautiful. Photo of the bird taken at the Dallas Zoo.
Finally pulled out my camera to take photos of the birds landing on the feeders. Everything was foggy and I was afraid it was my eyes because chemo can do that, but it was the window. lol. Cleaned it really well and now I can see the birds.
Hope your day is extra fine!

A big bird with a tiny fish in its beak. The next one will be bigger, I’m sure. This is just a snack.
We had two inches of rain yesterday during the thunderstorms. We had been under a tornado watch, then a warning, so it was good when everything moved into the Gulf of Mexico.
I’m a little over halfway done on the book. So off to write.
Hope when you catch the “big one,” it’s bigger than the crane’s!

Myna Bird in Hawaii. My, what big eyes you have. The bird was so far away on this rooftop, atop a pillar, that I couldn’t tell what it was until I cropped the picture to show off the bird. Such a cute expression.
Well, I managed to finally write about 2,000 words yesterday. I think I had been experiencing chemo fog before that because it was a real struggle to come up with scenes. I’ve felt better the last couple of days, as far as fatigue goes, but the broken toe still really hurts. I think because I’m feeling better, I’m doing more, and the toe hurts more. *sigh*
Have an astounding day!

This was an injured bald eagle at the Fort Worth zoo.
I’m still feeling winded, but hopefully my bloodwork will show my counts are going up again. I don’t want to go through another hospitalization just to wait on blood. I can do that at home and then go back in. 🙂
I’m off to put my foot up to elevate the broken toe.
Hope to get some writing done today. I didn’t while I was hospitalized this time.
Hope you have some fun planned today!
