Jaguar Nearly Asleep

His eyes are just a wee bit open as he watches me take a photo of him at the Omaha zoo. Love jaguars. They are such beautiful big cats.

Last day of spring break for my granddaughter. We were painting bookmarks yesterday. I’m not good at that kind of art, but we had fun.

The temperature has dropped drastically, so don’t really feel like doing anything in the garden. But it’s supposed to get to 72 about 1 pm, so maybe by then we can go out and play!

Have a terrific Friday the 13th!

The Goat and the Squirrel

I took the photo of the goat in Okinawa, and the squirrel in my backyard.

Well, it’s time for blood work again. Fingers crossed my blood counts haven’t dropped to much. I’ve been on chemo for a week. So far, so good.

Hope you have a lovely day!

Sandhill Crane at the Dallas Zoo

A big bird with a tiny fish in its beak. The next one will be bigger, I’m sure. This is just a snack.

We had two inches of rain yesterday during the thunderstorms. We had been under a tornado watch, then a warning, so it was good when everything moved into the Gulf of Mexico.

I’m a little over halfway done on the book. So off to write.

Hope when you catch the “big one,” it’s bigger than the crane’s!

Cutter Ants?

I took a photo of them while walking my granddaughter home from school. They are busy carrying leaves that are much larger than themselves.

Yesterday was a long day at the hospital. They removed my picc line. Which makes me feel more normal. But they started me on maintenance chemo, which will make me feel bad again. I have to take 2 pills per day for a year, unless I feel so sick to my stomach and they’ll cut it back. I’m trying to get the 10 pills I normally take first thing down, then will take the chemo pill.

I took my first one last night and am getting ready to take the second one this morning. It’s fun and foggy this morning. More like a Halloween day. 🙂

I’m off to work!

Hope you have a brilliant day!

A Gray Ladybug

I was at the kids’ house yesterday having fun, taking pictures of the wildlife–a dragonfly, a red ladybug, a Cuban anole, a skipper butterfly on a sunflower and guess what I found? A gray ladybug. And yes, they’re really a good little ladybug!

Okay, I’m back to work! Enjoy your day!

Male Cardinal on Seed Sock

Great tips on cropping photos:  http://www.companyfolders.com/blog/cropping-photos

Seven thousand more words to go on Night of the Wolf! I promised an author I would give her a quote for her book, so we’re having lunch today. I’m going to run and see if I can pick up some “goody” bags for conference too. I had some for another reader game, but now I have to do another. 🙂

Okay, I’m off and running. Didn’t know where to go with story last night, so I started editing what I do have. And some more this morning. Then I had an idea. The problem with my ideas is that they change other stuff. *sigh*

Have a wonderful day! Oh, need to post another blog too. It’s Saturday, right? Not sure how we got here so fast!

Do days sneak up on you too?

The Cardinal Feast

4 cardinals, 3 males, 1 female

4 cardinals, 3 males, 1 female

Do you see the cardinal in flight? When the one landed on the walk, the other took flight. He flew off so quickly, I didn’t think I’d caught him in the shot at all.

4 cardinals, 2 males, 2 females

4 cardinals, 2 males, 2 females

In another shot, I didn’t realize I’d captured 2 females. I was concentrating on the two males, and saw the 2 females. So it was fun seeing the 5 cardinals at the feeding station nearly, only not all at the same time.

To capture these, I have to move a stool in front of the window and have my camera ready to get above the screen and hedge. When I do this, they often see me and fly off. So I was really fortunate that I was able to capture any of them at all!

I kept thinking I needed a bird blind, but then–I got lucky without one! 🙂 <3

Still working away on Call of the Cougar. A 1,000 words away from my word goal, but a long way from the end. Still working on bear orders. Have about 30 in various states of progress. And about that number in orders to finish. 🙂

Do you have cardinals around? I didn’t realize I had so many until two males landed on the feeder at once and I knew another was much brighter red than them. I learned that the two in this picture that aren’t as bright red are the young males and they’ll keep changing until their feathers are all red. 🙂 And this was the first time I saw the two females at the same time. I thought maybe the one and the bright red male were Mom and Dad, because one pair of cardinals had two babies.

Momma on her nest. And both little babies heads were out when I came by the one time, but they ducked back into the nest so by the time I returned with the camera, I couldn’t see them. 🙂

I’m back to working on Cougar, bears, and wishing you a Happy TGIF!!!

Have a great Friday! 🙂
