I love fantasy, mythologies from around the world and was fascinated with creatures such as the centaur. It’s so fun being able to create art that poses a story because from this scene all kinds of questions are asked. What is he offering. To whom? And how will it be received?
In writing a story, I have to think of what-ifs. What if the gift isn’t received favorably? What if it is? What if the recipient of the gift wants more? Where did the gift come from? Was it earned or stolen or found?
As I write on Red Wolf Christmas, I constantly have to ask myself questions. Have I set up the mystery early enough on? No. Why not? I didn’t know what it was at first. So I need to put a clue in earlier. That was the thought I had first thing when I was waking. So I’m off to add it!
At least with the proofing of Legend of the White Wolf and the novella.
Old Wolf ManNew Wolf Man
Evolution? Or just that the other is fantasy and my wolves are real? Yep, that’s it!
Lots of thunder last night. Ominous clouds threatening like a wolf without teeth. And no rain. Again. No break in heat for another 2 weeks, it looks like, unless it changes its mind and is crazy hot for another 2 weeks. *sigh*
Have a super fun day! I’m off to write!!! Red Wolf Christmas and the cold is howling for me to come join them.
So I finished proofing Legend of the White Wolf and now am proofing
White Wolf to the Rescue: A Legend of the White Wolf Novella. The first editor question: What happened to the woman who helped the two PI partners escape? One of them, David Davis, was hooked on her, but I haven’t written his story yet.
Well, it was years and years and years before I was able to write another white wolf book. Years. Which meant tons and tons of books!!! I write between 5-8 books a year. When I finally wrote the next white wolf book (you have to know I always thought the series would peter out, the boss would say no more, so I just had never had time to do something with that sub-series), it was a long, long time ago. Ten years ago that I had read the book. As many books that I have to write, I didn’t have time to reread the whole book. Poor Elizabeth was forgotten. In one of the subsequent books, I made a mention of her returning to her pack, but I can’t remember which one. *sigh*
What happened to Elizabeth? I will have to make something more up. See? That’s the fun of being a writer. I can tell a story and it doesn’t have to be the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. Well, for them, in all honesty, it is the truth.
I’m off and running, got to finish proofing the novella and jump on Red Wolf Christmas again before something else waylays me. Hope you have a beautiful day!!!
Traveling into dark woods, they can make it safer.
Have a great day! Baby is here and I’m listening to Moana in the background and going to attempt to proofread more of Legend of the White Wolf. I have 200 pages left, done with 137.
My granddaughter saw the green witch and immediately said, “Bad lady.” She is nearly 2 1/2, but not all witchy, evil people are green and scary to look at.
So I looked at the date last night and OMG, it’s time to proof Legend of the White Wolf 10th Anniversary Edition. I had started a while back, but I stopped because I was on a roll with the current new book, Red Wolf Christmas.
Every time I stop, I get behind on the current book, can’t remember where I left off. You know. It’s like time traveling into the past ten years ago. Then I’m all wrapped up in the other wolf pack…anyway, you know what I mean.
Okay, this is due Friday, and I have my granddaughter back on Wednesday, so it’s nearly impossible to get any writing work done when she’s here. And that means I HAVE to get this done! I worked on it last night–skimmed through the whole thing, okaying what I could, have about 5 things I need to really look at, and even managed 1500 words on the new mss. BUT, this book is 132,000 words long (with the new added novella–338 pages), so it’s LONG.
So the next step is to actually re-read the whole thing. Starting as soon as I quit yakking here.
I’m nearly up to the minimum word count on Red Wolf Christmas, only 8500 words to go. I hate having to stop!
Have a great day, I’ve got to get busy! Hope you don’t run into any bad people today, green or otherwise.
Oh, and this one is a witch too, but she is all kinds of good–unless you’re the bad guy.
She’s sick. First thing my granddaughter wants is lots of cuddling, hugs, and…kisses. She doesn’t understand that Grandma doesn’t want to get sick! Both her mother and father are now too.
Candy Stripe Zinnia
So now how can Grandma really avoid the germy family??? Not seeing them? lol So Grandma hugs and cuddles and kisses.
Running into one of these big cats? Saber Tooth Tigers…don’t run, maybe climb a tree???? Jaguars and cougars climb trees. Not sure about these big guys.
I’m 6,000 words ahead so I can start working on the Legend edits and not be behind on word count for the current story. Only 16K to go to make word count on Red Wolf Christmas!

Okay, I’m off to write!!!! I was out weeding this morning, hot, muggy, awful, but at least I got most of it done. It helped to have done the days of weeding earlier because this was easier to pull up this time.
I’ve never seen a bird take a bath in the fountain. Smart bird. Hot day. This juvenile cardinal was having a ball.
I managed 2,000 words yesterday. I wanted to write more. I was reading an article about sleep. Six hours or less a day is equivalent to 2 days with no sleep as far as the brain functioning well. Okay, so I definitely need brain function to write. Now how do I sleep better????
Baby is on her way. Bug terminator better be on his way. I have a swarm of red wasps in my foyer. They don’t seem to be building a nest, not that I can see. Though I am avoiding the area. I tried taking pictures from inside the house. I had to have my daughter drop my granddaughter off in through the garage until the terminator gets here.
One day when I lived in Crawford, Texas, I was watching out the window as I was writing my story, and saw several bluebirds diving at a wasp nest they were building. Every time a new wasp showed up to add to the nest, one of the bluebirds would dive down and the wasp was history. It was wonderful!!! I was having a terrible time with the wasps. Hate using hornet spray, but the best little bug killers around? Bluebirds. I’ve never seen anything like it!
