Inspiration? Or Just Wears You Out?

So I was at the Disney RWA Conference, book signings, networking, workshop hopping, editor meetings, firework watching, storm watching, rides, rides, rides, and rides. Walked between 9-11 miles a day! In the 98 degree heat and the 76+% humidity.

Rode monorails, ferries, and buses. Walked and walked and walked. And Walked. Got drenched.

When I go to a conference, I try not to just go to the conference. I want to see the area because….I paid a lot of money to get there. And….oh, wow, it’s just great for stories. And picture taking!!! And sharing.

This was the best birding place ever!!! Saw all kinds of different birds, and flowers, and the birds are so used to the millions of people, that they pose beautifully for pictures.

Even the squirrels and bunnies do!

Yellow Flowers in Bloom

Pool that Seems Like a Fantasy, San Diego

I used a city flare program from Topaz Studio. It makes it magical at night. It was at night when I took this picture from a friend’s hotel room. She and some other authors were having a party and I got invited! We had a blast. The gals were all from England and lots of fun. 🙂 The one was sitting next to me at a book signing earlier.

Sometimes life just gets in the way!

Sunny to Stormy at the Beach

When writing stories, one of the things that we can do to change the mood completely is to have the weather change, to go from day to night, and for me with my wolves–add a full moon for a newly turned wolf. All kinds of trouble then. lol

I’m so evil, I know. Much too hard on my characters.

Baby Dragonfly and Wooly Bear Caterpillar

Wooly Yellow Bear Caterpillar that turns into a Virginian Tiger Moth, thought I had a picture of one, but I couldn’t find it. It’s all white.

And the baby dragonfly is visiting the winged fairy in the cowboy boot. The dragonfly is to the left and above my name on the leaf.

Love dragonflies. They eat bad bugs. If you see to the right and below the caterpillar, there is an assassin bug.

All kinds of little critters in the yard.

Green, Green Dragonfly

I was trying to capture some photos of the green darner dragonfly, love their color. This one kept hopping on the grass to camouflage itself and was almost impossible to see. Do you spy it?

But often they’ll fly away, then closer than they were before. 🙂
