I ended up being sick yesterday too, but everyone seems to be feeling fine this morning. And I managed to finish Billionaire She-Wolf Ready for Action last night!! I sent it in, yay!!! Then I received 2 promo blogs to do for the 10th Anniversary Release of To Tempt the Wolf and I’m off to work on Hunting the Red Wolf novella.
BUT, the kids want to go swimming today first thing, I have babysitting duty while they have fun for their anniversary, and where does that leave me?
Not sure, but I’m going to TRY and write the two blogs today and type up the notes I have on Red Wolf so far!
My son-in-law was sick, so I had to pick up baby from daycare and keep her until her momma got off work. Now my daughter is sick and I had to pick up baby from them this morning and take her to daycare.
I think it’s the flu. I think baby had it first because she had a blowout the other day when her mom and dad had her. And I think that she was patient zero. She usually is. lol Daycare crud.
I’ll pick her up later, and keep her overnight, IF I’m not sick. I think I’ve got it too though, just starting. Ugh.
I have 18 chapters to go on proofing. Book still is due on Monday. *sigh*

When we lived in Amarillo, Texas, it was too far from the water. We used to see the ocean and lakes in California, the ocean and lakes in Florida, the ocean in New Jersey and Maryland, and it made me realize how much I love being near water.
Even the development we live in has ponds, and there’s a lake nearby–we have actually walked there before, which is where I took the pictures of the herons and dragonflies. When we lived in Florida, it was flat, flat, flat. We missed the mountains.
Do you ever live somewhere that doesn’t feel like home because of the terrain features? Or the fall, or winter, or summers?
I’m off to work on proofing Billionaire She-Wolf. Hope to have it done by tomorrow and turn it in and get back to word count on Red Wolf. But, I’m babysitting my granddaughter on Saturday too. How did that happen? Anniversary? I thought my daughter and SIL just celebrated an anniversary. lol Are they sneaking another one in on me???

I loved this work by Jai Pietryka! He loves wolves and he loves my books! That makes him a hero in my book! The coat of arms bears the name of wolves lupus garou, that I created, so that is so cool!
I had to do the marketing materials for Billionaire She-Wolf, get word count on Hunting the Red Wolf (which I didn’t do) and do edits on Billionaire She-Wolf. Well, I sent in the marketing materials. I did MOST of the edits. I have a mix-up at the end of a chapter and beginning of the next–due to moving things around before I sent it to my readers, and one of my beta readers caught it, yay! So my next step is to read through the whole story and make any other changes I need to and then turn the book in. And get back on track with word count on Red Wolf.
But, granddaughter will be here in a few minutes and that means it will all have to happen later!
Yay!! For my son-in-law! So I had baby all day. He went to work in the pouring rain, found out the garage was flooded and it short-circuited the electricity for the whole building where he works, and so he had to drive home in all the stormy weather. He worked from home, and then came to have dinner, since my daughter is teaching out of town.
But, I put him to work. He installed Windows 10 on my computer for my birthday a while back, and I was having lots of trouble with Photoshop, still didn’t have my Carbonite set up, and Daz3D wasn’t working. I don’t know what was going on with Photoshop. Naturally, when he went to check the error messages I was getting, it wouldn’t show up. You know. Like taking your car to the mechanic and the car is evil. Purely evil. As soon as you leave the shop, it’ll give you trouble again, but for the mechanic? Works like a charm.
I created this, reminding me of my walk, minus the boat, dog, and balloons. Those were just fun to add.
Okay, so since I had the baby soooo late, I didn’t get hardly anything done. I started working on Hunting the Red Wolf on Sunday, but had a new idea last night. And so heading in a slightly different direction. Well, more than slightly. But my goal is 2,000 words a day again, minus the two days I have my granddaughter.
Oh, and I need to ship off things again–2 books to a fan who didn’t receive hers, 2 books to a fan whose books went to another fan who received both (PO screwed up, so I’m hoping I can get them to reimburse me), stuff to my son and daughter-in-law, and a package that keeps getting delivered to me that isn’t mine. Since I’m the only one who has ever had this address, the company has his address wrong, but I don’t want to have to keep returning it to the company. (Not paying for it though.)
And that’s it. Well, we’re still under flood watch and we have more rain coming today. So maybe I won’t go to the post office until Thursday. And I need to plant some daylilies that were a replacement for hibiscus that never made it. So I want to do that today before it gets way overheated.
I need to take the dogs out. I need to take the garbage out. But the storms are raging this morning. Lightning right overhead. Strong winds. Pouring rain. Dangerous.
A couple of pictures of dragonflies I managed to take on the walk my daughter and I took on Friday. I want to go back and shoot some more, but I need to get going on the novella. I finally think I’ve started it–300 words. Now I just need to get 2,000 words a day. But my granddaughter is coming, so not happening today.

Off to get the rest of the garbage together, and see if I can make a mad dash outside. The lightning is still really bad. I love storms as long as they don’t do any damage.
My daughter told me I couldn’t take my camera with me, not my phone either, because she knew I’d take a lot of pictures, but we had a blast and I DID take my camera because I love to take pictures and enjoy them after the walk. She tells me I need to just enjoy the moment. But it’s so fleeting!
Anyway, the flying Great White Heron is the best clear shot I’ve been able to take when one is taking off. Now how can I not want to enjoy that moment over and over again??? And to share it also!
I finished edits on You Had Me at Wolf (Wolff Brother’s Story), still trying to come up with the new story for the red wolf novella. Still reading the first story I wrote 10 years ago.

My daughter and I went swimming for 45 mins and then went hiking for 2 miles in the 100 degree heat and humidity yesterday. I took a lot of pictures of dragonflies, swamps, the lake, and herons. Hopefully some of the pictures turned out and I’ll share them. One of a green and blue dragon is phenomenal, and I’ll share it tomorrow.
But I finished Billionaire and gave it to my beta readers. I got edits back from my editor on You Had Me at Wolf (Wolff Brother story), and so I have to get those done by Monday. And I was reading Seduced by the Wolf, to recall the characters in that book because I have to add a novella at the end for the 10th Anniversary Edition. And I have to write the Christmas novel about the same pack, so I figured it would help to read that story since I wrote it 10 years ago.
So as soon as I finish the edits on the other book, I’ll jump on the Red Wolf novella. Think I’ll call it Hunting the Red Wolf. And I think it will be about Cassie’s sister who learns in Seduced by the Wolf that her cousin Aimee made it out okay, when their families perished. So I’m thinking that Rhoda, her twin sister did too, and this will be her story.
Anyway, I’m off to swim with the kids and granddaughter and then get back to work! Hope you have a great weekend!!
On the Jaguar/Lion promo photo, I used Oscraps elements from a Safari one, though, I might have picked up the jaguar from another. In any event, do you notice my artist style? Nope? Right! I am eclectic. Which means I’m still trying to figure it out, but I love trying new things. Constantly.
I’d love to be able to take my own pictures and turn them into watercolor scraps too. Anyway, the cat was from Pixabay, and so were the two texture layers I used, one of a galaxy, and one of just a gold texture. I have TONS of photos I’ve taken, so that is one quest I have. Among MILLIONS of others.
In the meantime, it’s back to proofing the book. I only managed to get 4 chapters read yesterday, baby here until late, and I just couldn’t get anything done.

I’m reading over the final version (I hope) of Billionaire She-Wolf, so I can turn it over to beta readers next. In the meantime, I have plans for my granddaughter today–the swimming pool, stroller walk, grocery store, and then, you see, she’ll be all worn out so I can proof more. Maybe. Or Grandma will be.
In any event, that’s the schedule, finish Billionaire! Yay! Someone mentioned we were almost halfway through the year. No! Hands over ears, I don’t want to hear it.
