Super Moon!

Tonight it’s supposed to be its fullest but I took a picture of it yesterday afternoon with my phone and was amazed how well it turned out.

We saw the new Indiana Jones movie, loved it, but I’m ready for them to quit having the old guys from the original movies in the new ones. Let’s get some new blood into the films. And while we’re on the subject, can we please have some new stories? Why the same old stories regurgitated forever?

We had a lovely day and a great dinner and ice cream afterwards. Today, we’re running errands with baby if he’s not sick. My son can’t get some things in Japan, so we’re going to do some shopping.

I finally, as much as I hated to, removed DAZ3D from my computer. I had like 36-65 GB left on my hard drive and couldn’t even create anything with it any more, couldn’t play Baldor’s Gate that finally was fully released–which needed 87 GB or so. When I removed DAZ3D, it freed up 500 GB!

Okay, so with my son here and the baby here today, and still picking up my granddaughter from school every afternoon, and having dinners with family, I’m not getting very far on the story. NOT to mention, I started playing Baldor’s Gate in between a few times, and ooooooh, so much fun. I haven’t played games in probably two years. But it’s all worth it. Life is too short not to have fun!

Well, before my grandson gets here, I’m doing some edits on the story, and hope to maybe get close to 1,000 today.

Have beautiful day!

Still Working on Halloween Novel

I didn’t get my word count yesterday, but it was all good. I planned to finish it when I got home last night, but lo and behold, my son was at my daughter and SIL’s house when I went to have dinner with them. It was a surprise. I was thrilled. Needless to say, we had a ball last night. He came in from a work conference in Cleveland from Japan and made a few days stop with us.

The other good news is we got a 1/4″ of rain and a cool down and ended up being able to sit on the patio last night while the wind and rain and lightning entertained us. So much fun.

The bad news is I have a jury summons. Ugh. So I’m hoping I’m not selected so I can spend time with my son before he returns to Japan. I haven’t seen him in two years.

Have a super terrific day!!!

The Orient Express

Bear of a Halloween is getting further. Still a ways to go. And today is another scorcher at 108 degrees, highest ever, add 10 degrees for heat index factor. It feels like 86 at 6 am. And no relief in sight. I pulled up another tomato plant. I kept thinking we’d get some rain and everything would revitalize, but not happening.

Tomorrow I have a jury summons. I have to remember that I’m not taking care of the baby, but going on the long drive to court.

Hope you all have a delightful day!

Fairy and Her Feline Friends

Having fun with some whimsical art.

Okay, I was out working this morning on cutting back some volunteer hollies, and it isn’t too bad out, but it’s going to get bad again, of course. So what’s new? I wanted to stay out all morning and wor, but I really need to keep working on the bear story. I had printed out Bear of a Halloween and was making edits to it. As I write, I get new ideas and need to incorporate those with earlier parts of the story, so that’s what I’m doing now.

I’m off to work on the book. It’s up to 49K, hope to make it 51K or more today.

Have a super duper fun day!

His Wild Highland Lass

This was a novella in an anthology and then I was able to get my rights back and publish it. But then I decided to redo the cover once again and heavily revised it, added to it, and republished it.

Now I’m back to working on Bear of a Halloween full time. I added 3,000 words to it last night. Next up is the DEA red wolf book.

I’ve had a cough and loss of voice since February so when I saw the doctor, she said to take Clariton twice a day and gave me a prescription for a steroid inhaler. Steroids have such a bad connotation, but miraculously, they can help sometimes. I had this same stuff really bad a couple of years ago and twice they recommended giving me a steroid shot, but the first time I declined. The second time, I went for it, just had to, and it really, really cleared everything up. My voice is back to normal today after croaking out words for months, and I’ve only used the inhaler 3 times. I didn’t think I’d ever get my voice back. I just hope when I stop using the inhaler, I will still have my voice back!

I’m off to put down some bark mulch and then get to work writing.

We were supposed to get some rain last night–heavy thunderstorms. 87%. Yay! Nothing happened. Sigh.

Hope your day goes great!!!

Claiming the White Bear

Updated the cover.

I’m nearly done with His Wild Highland Lass proofing. I only have 3 more chapters to read and the epilogue before I have to go to the dentist. I hate going to the dentist. But the alternative is worse.

And a little artwork, The Lady and Her Wolf.

An article written about the lack of rain we’ve had. Thanks for nothing, Harold: Houston continues longest streak of rain-free days on record It’s been bad. I’ve been pulling up more dead shrubs and the triple digit figures continue into infinity with no rain in sight. It’s terrible when you’re hoping for a hurricane to have relief from the drought and heat!

Hope you have a lovely day.

Loving the White Bear

I finally finished the print cover for Loving the White Bear and uploaded it to Amazon. This is the ebook cover. The ebook is already available all over. I did update the buy list in the book. I had to revamp the buy list so as I’m redoing a few covers, I’m also proofing the mss one more time, then reuploading.

I’ve been having internet connection issues, and had so much running around to do yesterday, that I managed to only get 1,000 words on Bear of a Halloween. But I was also editing His Wild Highland Lass and finished both the print book covers for it and for Claiming the White Bear.

I’m off and running to get ready for little one this morning!

Hope your day is stellar, and all I can say is with this heat dome staying over us, this cool, wintry picture makes me feel better.

More Like a Centaur

I had created this in DAZ3D and then added a tail and hair because a lot of times, the hair and tails on DAZ3D don’t look that great in rendering. At least on my computer!

I’m off to a a couple of appointments. Have to take Tanner in for blood work for a teeth cleaning next week and probably the poor dog will have to have another tooth pulled. I’ve never had a dog that has such bad teeth. His half brother is fine.

Pulled another tomato plant out and two more sky pencil boxwood out of the ground. The ground I pulled them from is dry as the desert. This unrelenting heat and no rain is unreal. If I hadn’t been watering the rest, I wouldn’t have any living plants at all. Well, the weeds would survive, I’m sure.

I managed to revise all of His Wild Highland Lass last night and get a 1,000 words on Bear of a Halloween. I had my grandson yesterday, so that meant grocery shopping and taking him for a walk to the mailbox, trying to get it done before it was too hot. But it was already hot when he was dropped off early. So I was glad to still get a lot done on my writing!

So today, I need to get 2,000 on Bear of a Halloween, and start proofing His Wild Highland Lass.

Off to get ready to go. Have a swimmingly great day!

Centaur Fail!

Why can’t AI–Midjourney in particular–create a well-known mythical figure? It can do dragons, elves, fairies, griffins, any number of them, but centaurs? lol

Back to the real world, more heat, and managed another 3000 words on Bear of a Halloween. It’s up to 40K now, woohoo!

I started revising His Wild Highland Lass also, and it will probably be longer by the time I finish it. And I need to add to Dreaming of the Highland Wolf also. So much to do. So little time to do it.

Got to run. Have little one all day! Enjoy your day!

The Zebra Foal

I took the picture of the zebra at the zoo in Fort Worth. So pretty.

So today, instead of weeding, I’ll be pulling up dead shrubs. Three of my 6-foot tall sky pencil boxwood have bitten the dust. That makes a total of six this summer. And a lemon shrub, can’t remember what it was, but if you brushed it with your fingers, it smelled like lemon and it was so pretty, died. I have two slow growing boxwood that are four feet in height that look like they’re about on the way out. I hate losing my plants. They’re 8 years old. I planted them when I first moved here. Same with the sky pencil boxwood.

This heat and no rain has just been awful. That’s my job first thing this morning is pulling the dead plants once the sun is up. it’s supposed to be 108 today, so add 10 degrees for the humidity and that’s what we’re feeling. At 6 this morning, even in the dark, no sun, it feels like 91 degrees with 87% humidity. If it was dry out, it would feel so much better. But the one day it was only at 50%, then we had fire warnings. ugh.

I managed to write 4,000 yesterday on Bear of a Halloween. I’m at 37K, maybe will make 40K today, but working toward my 2,000 word goal.

Hope you have a lovely day!
