Beautiful Clouds

Some days we’ve had the most beautiful cloudy skies. Yesterday was another, but I was driving and couldn’t stop to take a picture of it. But it was truly beautiful. Big thunderheads off in the distance, miles high. I so much would rather have the clouds on days like this, instead of the blistering sun.

I managed to get 39K yesterday on Wolf on the Prowl. If I can get another 1,000 words today, I’ll be halfway done. Woohoo! But I have the baby today and so that makes it more of a challenge. Not sure what we’re going to do today. We have our morning walk scheduled. Still hot, still going to be scorchers through next week.

I’m off to get something done before he gets here.

Decorated for Fall

I haven’t felt like it. It’s been so hot, that I haven’t felt in the mood. But with my 2 year old grandson’s help, we brought out all the decorations, and of course the collection of 3 Snoopy Halloween dogs were his (not really–I got them for my granddaughter over the years but I don’t think she cared about them as much as he did), and a soft pumpkin with a big smiley face, which he took with him in the car to pick her up from school, and slept with. Of course that’s my granddaughter’s too. Last year, he really didn’t notice any of that stuff. This year? It’s all my pumpkin. My doggies. lol He made a pumpkin patch.

So we had fun. Then so my granddaughter wasn’t disappointed that I had decorated already, I had some window thingies to put on the glass and she got to decorate that which made her happy. I had picked them up on clearance last year and plan to do the same thing this year for the next.

I’ve got them both for Columbus Day Friday and Monday, so I’ll probably take them to walmart to pick out one Halloween cuddly that’s theirs.

Okay, I’m off to write. I managed 2,000 words on my off day, so I’m getting closer to the halfway point on Wolf on the Prowl! And miracles of miracles, we got an inch of rain yesterday. Yay!

Everyone Watching Everyone

Okay, I’m off to write. Having dinner with the kids and discussing Baldur’s Gate 3 Strategies. It was a disaster for me at the inn. I thought it was supposed to be safe???? Anyway, so I have to get back up to the challenge. Writing yesterday to catch up on word count. At 33K, should be at the halfway point near the end of the week. Woohoo!

Today will be another 110 heat index scorcher. Who says it’s Fall????? But tomorrow, the high will be 90 + 10 for heat index so a little cooler. But then it’s back up to 94 for the middle of the week. I’m so tired of this heat! Okay, off to write about the heat in Oregon on the coast. A breezy 70 degrees. Wish that was here! See why I escape to my other reality in writing books?

Red Riding Hood and the Big Beautiful Wolf

Finally finished this picture. I mixer brush painted the photo of the wolf and added the long skirt on the girl, plus tons of color toning to the whole picture, etc.

So I’m off to get busy on the books. My poor dog had to have 4 more teeth removed, so he’s taking it easy. Max keeps bugging him.

Wizard Baby

I had to take Tanner in for his teeth cleaning. I hate to because every time I do, he needs more teeth pulled. I’ve never had a dog that has had to have teeth removed. I’ll know the verdict later today.

Anyway, I’m here with the baby today, trying to find Halloween shows for him to watch. Spookily the Square Pumpkin is a hit. My grandson is “no, no, no” to everything this morning, except for our walk and he always wants to take that, and then he saw the cute little bats talking to each other and that was it. He was hooked. I want to play Room on the Broom for him. It’s one of my favorites. lol

Okay, so I’m off to work. I managed to get to 25K yesterday! Yay! Hope to have 30K by Thursday on Wolf on the Prowl.

It was cooler this morning, hooray! But it will be in the mid 90s all week and into next week. I hope this doesn’t continue through October!

Little Boy and His Basset Hound

We don’t get pretty fall days like this normally. Though one year, one of my trees was the most gorgeous yellow and I thought, how did that happen and I had never noticed it do that before? Because the rain has to be just right and it had been dry every year before that.

Okay, we’re off to run errands, ship a bear, get some groceries. It’s my special time with my grandson. We use the special fire engine car to ride in. We already had our stroller walk.

Uh-Oh!

It’s fun creating a picture with action and letting the viewer use their imagination to decide what’s happening!

The baby and the griffin are playing chase and he reached his safe place. The griffin thinks one of her babies got away. The baby is having a nightmare. Stranger danger. The list goes on. What comes to mind when you see the picture?

We had another 2″ of rain. We’d had a prediction of NO rain for the next 10 days, so it was greatly welcome!

Managed to get my 2,000 words yesterday on Wolf on the Prowl. At 21K, still a long ways to go, but getting there. And finished the MacLeod Bear.

Ten Legged Octopus

Okay, so he’s not quite anatomically correct but in a fantasy world, he could exist! The photo of the hammerhead shark and fish I took at one the aquariums. Probably in Omaha.

So we got more rain. 3/4 of inch, yay! And a wild storm when I went to pick up my granddaughter. Then my electric was out last night and I’ve been trying to reset the breakers and get everything to working again. Still don’t have any electricity in part of my kitchen and I’ve already reset the breakers.

And Tanner hurt his leg somehow. Havanese are known to have joint issues and he’s sprained it somehow, so I carried him out to go to the bathroom. At least he’s only 15 lbs, so he’s a lightweight.

I’m off to get some word count. Made it to 20K so 1/4 of the way done, but should have reached 21K. *sigh*

Pumpkin Time!

At least the grocery store is full of them. But if we put them out now? They would turn to mush.

It was the coolest day we’ve had in months, maybe only reaching 85 yesterday and we received 3 1/4″ of rain. Woohoo! We sooooo needed that. Today, we were supposed to get rain all morning. I was hoping for it! No such luck now. But at least the high is only going to be 86.

I took the dogs in for a trim and a wash yesterday. I do it about once every two-three months, comb them out daily and wash them in between groomings. But the guy took off nearly all their fur! I told him to leave their coats long. Okay, just trim their feet and faces, belly, behind. They haven’t had short fur like that since they were puppies and hadn’t grown it out yet. *sigh* But the good news is that they’re soft, fluffy, like a couple of little lambs and their fur will grow out for winter. Hopefully.

I am nearly 1/4 of the way done on Wolf on the Prowl. I’ll have the word count today. And I’m still working on Bear of a Halloween. 🙂 So all great news!

I had my flu shot. They always ask if I want the powerful one. Of course. Maybe, it will help. Other than a sore arm, I didn’t have the chills and fever like I did last year.
