Weirder Weather

They say that the weather is going to keep getting weirder. That that’s the effect of global warming. It’s Weirder Weather time.

I believe it. I just hope we don’t have another hurricane or tropical storm in the area once the season hits us for that. That runs from June through November, but you know what they say. That’s for normal weather! We’re supposed to be at 70 today, 10 degrees just a couple of days ago and if that isn’t weird, I don’t know what is.

And the weather is just getting–weirder.

I’m still rewriting huge sections of the story that I thought were fine with the new earlier rewrites but now I can see they aren’t. So I’m rewriting, editing them again on paper at night and finding lots of corrections to make still. My goal was to have this totally rewritten and begin proofing today, but I’m probably just going to be rewriting all day and adding new scenes. I stripped away 8500 words yesterday, which is good, but I need to write another couple of scenes again. Maybe by Tuesday I will be at the proofing stages. I’ve been working at this every day for days from early in the morning until late at night. And it is getting better.

So I’m off to work. Late morning wake up–the first time ever for me–after a late night of edits and then ghostly, haunted dreams. Blinds down, doors locked, everyone staying in the same room, except for the person who just couldn’t sleep with the rest of us, and you know what happens to the person who has to go off on their own during a haunted session, right?

Anyway, I managed to stay alive until morning. Isn’t that great? I can write more books now! Or finish the ones nearly there.

Glitches

Yesterday, I wrote my whole blog and then there was some kind of glitch and I couldn’t post it. I’d hurt my back after pulling weeds and grass and spent flowers all morning in the light rain on Saturday, it was cool out, yay!–5 40-gal bags worth and so I gave up on the blog on Sunday when it froze up.

Today, thankfully, my back is much better. My daughter gave me tomato plants to plant and I want to get those out in the ground. I could barely walk still yesterday, did some yard work and it seems to help to continue to stretch the muscles. When I sat for too long writing, it was worse getting up again. So today, I managed to walk around the neighborhood and get my mail and get the rest of the garbage out.

I’m going to try and get the tomato plants out this morning because it’s going to be beastly again. We had a brief thunderstorm last night, and that helps to cool things off. I need to run out and take a picture of my mushrooms! lol

I Love Clouds

Sun, sun, go away, come again another day. It’s so nice to have clouds that help to cool it down just a wee bit. I love clouds and can stop whatever I’m doing when some interesting clouds appear and take pictures. All blue skies? Whatever. Add some clouds and you’ve added some interest.

Yesterday, we had Florida clouds. No, they didn’t come from Florida, but they reminded me of them when I lived there. Big white fluffy clouds and big blue skies. Really pretty. We would wish for rain, and sometimes they would turn dark and we would have a major storm. Then they would evaporate and it was steamier than before.

Most of these are pictures I’ve taken in my neighborhood. The one over the water I think was in Scotland.

Capture the clouds at sunset or sunrise, and even prettier.

Okay, I’m doing stuff with my daughter and granddaughter this morning. Two more weeks of my daughter having off and then working long days during the week to make up for it. After that, she’s back to working 5 days a week and shorter days, so no more Friday play days. We didn’t used to get together every Friday over the summer like this. She had things to do. With COVID-19, the whole world has changed.

Storm Clouds at Sunset

We’ve had boring skies at sunset–just plain old blue skies turning to dark. But clouds give it character. The storms didn’t even leave any rain, just a lot of grumbling, but I loved it.

Steampunk Captures the Imagination

Do you see the cat that hitched a ride on the airship? I created this composite using several different layers of clouds. I never thought of doing that until I saw on DeviantArt where an artist mentioned how she had combined clouds to create her free spectacular clouds to give away. So I started out with just a group of pretty clouds on a blue sky, and then began to add and add and add. On the next version, I added a galaxy kind of sky on top of the clouds and it gave it a whole different effect.

The steampunk airship is from Roy3D on DeviantArt.

So I don’t have the baby today, yay! Because I was at parties all weekend and have been struggling to just get my word count of 2,000 each day. That gives me today to try and catch up just on that. I still need 22,000 words just to reach word count.

Storms Make for Great Vampire Days…and Nights

We had stormy-looking weather, barely any chance of rain, and it poured. Yay! The sunset was spectacular! It truly looked like a vampire day…and night!

One of the covers I had to redo for my vampire series, was The Siren’s Lure. I loved the first one I had, but it was a stock photo that I found was popping up all over other authors’ books, so I had to create my own.

I had to put aside Silver Town Wolf Christmas for a day because I had to work on final edits for You Had Me at Jaguar. They’re due Friday, and I have to take care of baby on Wed and Fri, so today I’ll finish it up and turn it in. I have 3 more chapters and a prologue to go. And then I’ll be adding the edits in that I’ve done on the paper copy of Silver Town Wolf Christmas.

I can’t remember why I started writing vampire novellas, but I did, and so this is one of them!

The Siren’s Lure, a novella

Happy New Year!

New Year’s Eve I was flying high! So I took some pictures with my cell phone. Snow-covered ground. Sunset and the full moon and a jet trail. A glimpse of the ground in between the clouds, and the massive storm front ahead. It looked like the ground ahead was covered in snow. Captured a rainbow in the window. 🙂 Oh, and on the snow one, I thought the “contours” on the hills were like art.

Played my new game last night and got myself killed so many times, I stopped to type up the notes I wrote on the plane. I wrote 2,000 words on the trip home, so not too shabby. At 1 am, I called it a night! Once I finish typing the notes, I think I’ll be at 20K on Demon Hunter. It’s the third in the teen Demon Hunter series.

Kids are sick, so no New Year’s Day activities. I’m still typing notes, starting to put away Christmas decorations, and will most likely be playing with more pictures!! And writing!

My goal? Put away my Christmas decorations so I can concentrate on writing, oh, edits. Darn, have to work on those too for All’s Fair in Love and Wolf. lol

Oh, oh, and Heart of the Wolf comes out tomorrow. The re-release!!! That’s the problem with the holidays being on top of everything else. Or maybe, that everything else is on top of the holidays. Yeah, that’s it. 🙂
