Microplastic in the Brain

Miniature White Roses in the Garden. When I brought them home, they were so tiny. They’re now about 4 feet tall, but they don’t get any bigger than that. I love roses. And they seem to do really well here.

On to other news. I just read this article about the dangers of microplastic and so am switching out some things. I usually use ceramic dishes in the microwave, and I have several glass containers to reheat food also. My new storage containers are BPF free, and so are some new rubber freezer containers I bought. But everything else is going out. Including all the plastic cutting boards. You never know what could cause your illnesses, or even dementia, according to this article. So I’ll get a wooden cutting board like my parents always had. And don’t reheat your food in those plastic containers that restaurants send home with your leftovers!

I have a lot of plastic bottled waters, but I’ve been drinking from thermoses, so will continue to do that. NO more plastic water bottles.

Hope you have a wonderful day!!!

Tiny Miniature Roses

These are unusual. They have white on one side and black on the other and red in the center. Love miniature roses.

We had a super busy day yesterday–swimming, lunch out, mall window shopping. It’s so hot that going to the playground isn’t an option. Even at 4 this morning, it feels like 86 degrees out.

I’ve been editing the first 8 chapters of Wolf Bound, which means taking out and rewriting and adding in. Which means I only added 500 words yesterday. So 1500 words from minimum word count goal. Woohoo!

Today, we’re swimming this morning, though before the pool opens, I’ll get some writing in. And then having grilled burgers for Memorial Day.

Okay, I’m off to get something done before I can’t!

Have a rosy day!

A Surprise!

This is one of the nearly dead miniature red rosebushes I took home with me to try and revive, and look at it! It has not only a red rose, which is all it had when I picked it up, but a yellow rose too!

Gardening can give me lots of surprises. This is one of the fun kind!

Hope your day is going great and it’s only full of fun surprises! Off to write!

Moving Day

The miniature rosebush is really prolific and I love it, but sunshine ligustrum had taken it over, which is really beautiful too. But the roses needed more sunshine, so yesterday was moving day. When I moved it, I didn’t realize I had split it in two, so now I have 2 yellow miniature rosebushes. I just hope they do well in their new planting beds.

Little one here, so we’re off to get some groceries. Their little flowerbeds were a huge success and today my grandson scattered perennial wildflower seeds in his and we planted some of them outside also. It will be fun for them to water them and see them grow into flowers, and the surprise will be what kind of flowers they will be.

I finished Huntress Unleashed last night from beginning to end. Yay! Now I’m going to let it sit for a few days, then start to edit it again so that my mind is fresh on it. Not sure what my next project will be. I was thinking of the fae, but I haven’t started one. I do have a Highland wolf historical started, so maybe that…. Or a cougar book. They’ve been neglected. Then again, I’ve had more requests for bears. Or another elf book. So many to write, so many decisions. I love it!

Hope your day is splendid!

Mallard Duck Art

The mallard duck was standing on grass next to a waterway, but the cement barrier next to it really messed up the picture. So I added some textures, removing the background.

I found some more miniature roses! And they came home with me. But it’s too hot to plant them. I’ll try first thing this morning. Of course I was so excited about getting the roses, I forgot my tortillas. lol Priorities, priorities.

This was supposed to post this morning, but didn’t! So I rescheduled it for 3 mins from now. Hopefully it will post. So weird.

Have a beautiful day!

Miniature Orange Roses

It was hot and sunny when I took the picture. I’ll have to take another when the lighting is better and with my camera, not my phone. The orange is just like this. Brilliant!

Have you ever seen something and wished you’d gotten it right then and there? Well, I saw these beautiful orange roses at the grocery store yesterday morning. They rarely have them, and they’re the only ones that get them. I’d never seen orange before. I have several other colors. I just adore them and this is the only place I’ve ever had success with growing them. So I picked up the orange ones and planted them and shared them yesterday. EVERYONE loved them. Me too. I decided to go back today to get the other orange one and maybe the hot pink. Pink and orange or purple and orange look great together. But they were all sold out and she didn’t know when they’d get any more in.

Sigh. So if you love something, don’t hesitate. It might not be there the next time you look.

I also picked up some bananas. I rarely eat them though I know they’re good for you. But I told my granddaughter about how I’d have them as a kid. Brown sugar and milk and bananas cutup. She asked me Monday if we could have them, but I didn’t have any bananas. So yesterday, I planned to pick a couple up and forgot. If it’s not on the list, not something I normally buy, I forget. Since I couldn’t find my roses, I grabbed a couple of bananas.

Tomorrow is her graduation from preschool, so we’re celebrating!

Have a beautiful day! I’m off to write–finally.

Try, Try Again…

Sometimes you have to just keep trying and it works! This is one of my miniature roses that is doing great here!

Of course, I had to move to a new place to finally make it happen. For years, I got my mother miniature roses for mother’s day, the kind you plant in the ground for years of enjoyment. And at the same time, one for me, as a mother too. But they never made it. Not for me in Oklahoma and not for her in Central Texas. But here in the Gulf, they’re growing.

So never give up. Sometimes you just have to move.

I’m off to try and catch up, but I have the little one here and that can make it a challenge! Have a fun day!

Dogs Fed, Baby Fed

Yesterday was great!! I ended up writing 4,000 words, mostly before the dogs and baby arrived. I expected her to come in the morning, not in the afternoon. So I got a lot done! I’m still 14,000 behind, but hopefully they won’t be picked up too late and I can get some writing done today. Two-thousand of the word count is for today. Oh, but I also wrote the Letter to the Reader for the 10th anniversary of To Tempt the Wolf and the one for the following book, Legend of the White Wolf. Almost forgot that!

The dogs and baby and I had a great time the rest of the afternoon and evening.

Pictures of the flowers blooming this winter.

Baby wouldn’t take a nap, but she passed out at 5 pm. Whoops, she wasn’t in her pjs yet, bad grandma. But then she woke at 6:30, so diaper changed and pjs on and then I got her to sleep on her mat in my bedroom by 8 pm. At 1 am, she was awake and crying, disoriented, changed her diaper and she went back to sleep right away. But I couldn’t. So I must have finally fallen asleep around 4:30 am and I heard one of the corgis barking. That usually means I haven’t fastened the other’s crate properly and the female is out. They’re in my sewing room, so they can’t get out. No problem. Just don’t wake the baby.

More barking. More. DON’T WAKE THE BABY. But I ignore him until I hear a clatter in the sewing room. That didn’t sound right. My room is dark and I can’t see the baby sleeping, but when I turn on the light, no baby. I head for the sewing room and total disaster. She’s dumped all my sewing materials everywhere and released the hounds. I make teddy bears. I’ve got bear joints, eyes, bear parts, legs, arms, ears, you name it, all over the floor. I’m just glad she didn’t hurt herself or the dogs.

Sigh. Okay, next sleepover, this was our first and she’s not yet two, I’ll shove her mat against the bedroom door and she can’t leave.

Okay, so when is Mom and Dad coming to pick up their motley crew? Off to play with the baby. And hope, hope, I get my word count for today. I need to get some breakfast too. Have a great one!!!

“The thrilling start to a wonderful werwolf series!”

Fresh Fiction Review

Heart of the Wolf

HEART OF THE WOLF is the first book of the series of the Heart of the Wolf

same name and I look forward to reading the rest. I was also pleasantly surprised to get a bonus novella about Bella’s twin sister Serena after finishing this newly reissued title. There was also a sneak peek of the different series based on the white wolves that Terry Spear is writing about also. I look forward to reading all of her Werewolf series in the future. They are definite must-reads on my list of series to complete. http://freshfiction.com/review.php?id=65658

Baby’s on her way over. She has scarlet fever, but is on antibiotics. I hope she feels better today.

Here are some more pictures of flowers and such.

In the first picture of the Orange Rocket Barberry, it was more purple. That was it’s first year here. This spring its fuller and really pretty, more orange. With a small yard, I need smaller plants, so this one is 1 1/2 feet wide and 4 feet tall, according to the card that came with it, though I saw a listing on the plant site that said it can get to 2 feet wide and 5-6 feet tall. Which works fine also.

The blanket flower is next to a row of miniature roses. And the milkweed flowers are getting ready to bloom for the monarch butterflies!

The dogs are whining at the door, waiting for baby to arrive!

And I’m off to finish this and get ready for her. Have a lovely flower-filled day!

Miniature Roses Remind Me of…

My mother and Mother’s Day. Every year I would get her some potted miniature roses for Mother’s Day and some for me. Every year, we lost them. This is the first place I’ve ever been able to grow them, and this is the third year for them. They are finally really taking hold! They are beautiful, and they remind me of my Mother. 🙂 <3

Have a lovely, memorable day!
