Don’t you think it helps to have a visual? I love the new cover! The old one was pretty but it was more illustrated rather than an actual photo like all the covers were. I’m proofing the book and should be able to turn it in today. 226 pages done, 266 to go. Since I worked for a lot of the day on Red Wolf Christmas edits yesterday, I shouldn’t have any trouble reading this all the way through and finishing it. Then I need to read Red Wolf Christmas again so I can finish editing it and turn it in.
Hope you have a lovely day! I’m off to get busy with mine!!
I was so busy with taking care of baby yesterday and having her dad for dinner and working on Wolff brother’s story, that I totally forgot that You Had Me at Jaguar was out today!!!!!
“[T]hrilling from start to finish.”—RT Book Reviews, 4 Stars for Jaguar Pride
You Had me at Jaguar
They’re not the only ones on the prowl…but they’re the most dangerous…
The United Shifter Force gives jaguar agent Howard Armstrong an
impossible task—to protect fierce she-jaguar Valerie Chambers, when the
last thing she wants is protecting. They’re going international to take
down a killer and he can guard Valerie all day long. But guard his
heart? He doesn’t stand a chance.
I’m off to do some more promo-ing on the book. Can’t believe I didn’t already do this, but I’ve been trying to get lots more done on Wolff brother–so that has been my focus for the last 4 no-baby days!
Have a beautiful day!!! And remember, not all jaguars are shifters, so be careful which one you hug.
Baby is here again and then I have 4 days of writing. I’m hoping to get caught up. Most of the Highland Wolf books are still on sale!
I am trying to write 3,000 words a day so I can be less behind, but I need to finish edits on the novella for SEAL Wolf Team to the Rescue and turn it in too.
It turned rainy and cold so I’ve been doing a lot of weeding. The weeds outnumber the population of all the people of the earth though. I’m certain of it! And I’m pretty sure that every time I pull up five weeds, ten more are taking their place, as if I just made room for them.
Okay, I’m off to take care of baby and hope I can get some writing done on my off writing day to make up some more on my word count. I’m 10,000 behind. But that’s down from 14,000, so that’s good!
Have a great day! I was enjoying the overcast one, but I missed seeing the super moon. I hope you got a glimpse of it!

I’m really bad about self-promoting. I want to write. But I know it’s important to also tell the world when a book is out because nobody else will know if I don’t say something. So a good friend of mine told me about a couple of sites to create book mockups and I’ll share those here.
Yes, perfect! I was having fun creating a couple of pictures for the upcoming new release. This is really neat because I’ve taken the pictures of the jaguars and added it to the mockup, and the composite I created, I added to the laptop. See???? All this picture taking and composites I am making can be useful, not just fun, goofing off time. lol
Okay, I’m back to the book because, yes, without the book, there will be no need to put out the word. Have a super fun day!!! I’m off to try and catch up on word count.
Kobo finally fixed their issues and Claiming the White Bear is now up at Kobo! I also finished proofing the print version and just waiting for it to go through review. So it should be ready in a few days.
We had a wild night of it and we might even have snow flurries! Yes, in the Houston, Texas area! I was up in the middle of the night, putting things away that could fly off the patio. We had 20 mph winds and hard rain, sounded like hail. What had the weatherman predicted? Light rain. So I was awake most of the night and sometime I noticed it was time to get up. Just a few more minutes. The next thing I knew, I have five minutes to get ready before baby got here.
Baby was ten minutes late. Lucky me. lol
So I made progress on Claiming the White Bear, but none on Wolff Brothers. Though in the middle of the night when I couldn’t sleep, I was thinking about the plot again.
Claiming the White Bear
A Romeo-Juliet type family feud, polar bear style, tore them apart; can they find true love again?
It’s nearly Christmas, no tours on the schedule for Edward MacMathan
and his brother and so they’re working in their uncle and aunt’s tavern
when the love of Edward’s life returns with two young boys in tow, and
they look a lot like him when he and Rob were that age. Robyn Conibear
is in trouble and she’s fled her deceased mate’s sleuth to keep his
parents from taking custody of her and Edward’s sons.
Can she and Edward renew the love they had for each other despite the
six years that have passed? Or will her return only cause more grief
between her family and his as the hostilities renew?
But Edward is the boys’ true father and she wants to be with him no matter what. Likewise, Edward is determined to protect her and the boys, both from her former mate’s sleuth and her own, and take up where the two of them had left off. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MXPH7NDh

Kobo isn’t up yet. They’re having issues on their site with uploading new covers. As soon as it’s resolved, I’ll be uploading it. I’m working on the formatting for print and have to create the cover for print, but I also had to get started on the Wolff Brother story, 2,000 words a day, or I won’t meet my deadline.
And we had a violent storm last night, high winds, still having high winds this morning, and the neighbor behind me had tree limbs split off from his tree that were tossed through the wind onto my patio, knocking over one of my plants, breaking one of my favorite garden fairies (my mother had given me) and so at 4 this morning I was rescuing my pot of chives. It’s still a mess. I’ll have to try and sweep off the dirt when it’s light out and ask my neighbor to help cut up the tree limbs. It was 62 this morning, but the temp is dropping 20 degrees and I can feel the change already just within the hour. Okay, I’m off to write and then format.
Hoping the storms that are hitting all over don’t affect you adversely! I know up north a lot of schools are out.
I love both. And I was very fortunate to get beautiful shots of each of these. The 2-year old emergent Arctic wolf alpha at the International Wolf Center, Ely, MN, and the snow leopard, Como Zoo, MN.
I’m working on Cougar Magic now, and I rarely capture good pictures of cougars in captivity, so I don’t have many to show. Of course one of my troubles has been that I didn’t know to change my ISO to capture faster moving critters back then. Most of the ones I saw were on the move. A few were resting so far up in the rocks, it was hard to capture good images. But maybe someday. And we couldn’t see the one at the Como Zoo at all. Exhibit, no cat.
Despite having baby for all day, and then again from 6:45 pm until 10:30 pm, I managed somehow to wrangle another 3,000 words out. I usually can’t. Shows that if I put my mind to it, AND the scenes are coming to me, I can do it. I have to say baby is very needy, wanting attention, or to be held when she’s getting sleepy, that it’s not like she’s at the age where she can sit and draw or something. But she did take 4 hours worth of naps, and I managed to get her to sleep by 8 pm last night, so I had another 2 1/2 hours to write.
Speaking of which, I’m on a forward momentum now, so off to get some more word count down. I’m at 16,000! So I’ve bypassed the number of 15,000 on Claiming the White Bear. I got stuck there, but I’ll do some brainstorming and push through that one too soon. I need to write my next fae book too and I want to finish one of the other YA vampire stories I’ve started. Not sure what my word count is on them, but they’re in the plans. And then I need to figure out what I want to write for the next wolf stories for 2020. It’s neverending, and what fun!
Have a great day!!!!! I’m excited to be running around in the cougar world creating mischief. They are in so much trouble. Let’s see if they can get out of it on their own…

I’ve been struggling all morning with my computer to try and post this. First, WordPress wouldn’t come up to allow a post. And I’ve just had trouble with everything. I was having the same issues last night, so gave up on trying to post. So here ’tis!
It’s FREE!!! FREE!!! FREE!!!
I’m behind on my writing word count. Confession is good for the soul, right???? Okay, then come the excuses. This book came up free, and I was scrambling to get the word out. 🙂 I did manage 1600 words yesterday, but I’m editing, not writing whole new scenes, and that means the book is getting better, but it’s not growing by leaps and bounds like when I just write new scenes. So that’s my story and I’m sticking with it.
🙂 You’re allowed to make up stories too!
As soon as I post this, I’m off to catch up on other stuff and then write!!!
Sunrise this morning was so bright red/pink. Yesterday sunrise was light ribbons of pink. And last night a subtle warmth.
Thanks to everyone who has shared about the free book. My publisher gives away free books like NEVER, so it’s a big deal. This is for ebooks, only. Just to be clear!!! Wouldn’t it be great if they were print books too?
Have a wonderfully, fun and exciting and adventurous day–in a good way!
Romance writer Candice Mayfair’s life changes forever when a werewolf pup bites her and turns her into an Arctic wolf shifter. As everyone knows, a newly turned wolf shifter has all kinds of issues―and for Candice it’s even worse―not being able to control her shifting is messing with her deadlines. Now it’s nearly Christmas and Owen Nottingham is searching for the woman one of his pint-sized pack members accidentally turned. He’s on a mission to convince the she-wolf to join his pack…and be his mate.
Coming in October!
When I was preparing to take this shot, mindful that birds have a habit of moving, I thought the blurred fame of the windows on the house on the block way behind my backyard and the side yard of my neighbor’s and across the street from them was really interesting. I could have changed the setting to make it even more blurred, but I really loved the way the house framed the bird and the windows were featured in an artistic way.
Okay, so I spent the day brainstorming Flight of the White Wolf and made a little progress on it. A 1,000 words, I think. The new prologue will change things a bit, and so I’ve got to go through and change it from he’s never met her in ch 1, to he’s met her in the prologue and it wasn’t a really good meeting. Which changes the dynamics completely, in a fun way. I had to add some conflict between them.
I also sent Loving the White Bear in for final proof after finishing minor edits, and it came back with cover text was in the margins, when they didn’t have any trouble with it before. So it’s back to review again.
I’m off to type up notes and hopefully get some word count in today. I am so far behind on it, that I’m going to have to revise my word count goals. 🙁
Have a super great day!!!
