My Fence Is a Cat Thoroughfare

So I’m working on both Woodland Fae and The Witch and the Jaguar.

It was refreshing to see that my readers will read seasonal stories during any season! So I added 5,000 words to The Witch and the Jaguar and 2,000 words to Woodland Fae. But today, I have proofing work on You Had Me at Jaguar. So today is cat day. Oh, also, this is National Wolf Awareness Week. Just so you know.

Okay, I’m off to write! It’s raining and cold and perfect for Halloween, vampires, and cats that prowl in the night…and day.

I Didn’t Get Anything Done

Except a little weeding while baby was here. She loves going outside and so I pulled some weeds out of the flowerbed out back. Out front, she was talking away to my ghost, who is about her size.

And the tabby kitty is sooooo sweet, but my puppies don’t love her like she loves me. I raised a cat with my dogs before, so they loved the cat, but these only think she’s like the squirrel and needs to be chased off. She’s very aggressive toward them, sleeps on the back patio next to the door like she owns it, and then hisses at them when I take them out on a leash. She left again, which is good. I don’t want my dogs hurting her.

It’s time for writing. I got nothing done yesterday, added 300 words to Woodland Fae, but baby was here until late, and then I went out to have pizza with her and her daddy…

So today, I need to write! It’s cooler out too and wet, and I need to pull more weeds.

When the Unexpected Happens

I was happily photographing flowers and playing around with an idea I had seen with a teacup and book, so created my Highland theme, when Tabby returned. He/she jumped into my lap, rubbed up against me, and claimed me as his own.

Then he proceeded to hunt squirrels (fence picture), and taunt my dogs who were sitting at the window barking, before birds overhead distracted him.

Okay, off to write. I’m coming down to the wire on deadline and the end of the story, 18K left to go, and I need to figure out how to wrap it up!! So I can get started on the next book.

Grandbaby will be one at the end of the month, so trying to figure out a theme for pictures. Her mom is big into Alice in Wonderland, so I’m thinking of doing something like that.

Oh, and because of the looming deadline of April 2nd, I keep forgetting TOMORROW is a new book release!!! You know, I wrote it last year, so it seems to me that it should already have been out a year ago. And since then, I’ve written 3 more books. 🙂

Sleepy Puppies

Until they see the cat.

A story can be that way, just sleepy, until something draws everyone together for a common goal. Prey.

Oh, and Tanner is always up for a mug shot. He needs a face trim, but he doesn’t care. If I’m trying to take a picture of the other dogs, he wants in on the action. To my surprise, so did Max. He usually doesn’t like having his picture taken. It’s just something he has to put up with. But if I’m taking pictures of his cousins? He wants to be included.

As you can see, I was really writing. Really.

Off to get started on it…well, after everyone has another potty break. I love taking pictures of the cat, but I’m hoping he doesn’t come around because of the dogs. My earlier dogs were raised with cats, so no problem. But these haven’t been.

Dogs and Cats and Squirrels, Oh My!

It’s been raining and raining and raining since yesterday. You can see the wet squirrel and the rain pouring down. The tabby cat is in hunting mode, headed for the bird feeder and checking out the water fountain. The dogs are lined up waiting for me to fix lunch, but they should have guessed I would take pictures of them. Then Luna began poking her nose at Tanner. They’re the two alphas and she didn’t want him there, so she intimidated him until he got up and moved. He loves getting his picture taken. Poor Tanner.

I tried to get low to take a head on shot of the puppies, but that won’t work. As soon as I did, they all came over to greet me. lol

Reached 45,000! Over halfway done! Woohoo!

Tabby Cat on the Prowl

The tabby cat is back, looking for birds to make friends with. NOT.

It appears she’s sniffing the water fountain, smelling birds that had rested, wishing she’d been there when they’d been there. But hey, if this is their sitting spot, she might as well sit for a spot too.

When the birds didn’t return to the feeders, she sat on the fence, low, so she would watch the birds swooping around from the trees.

Sorry putty-cat. No birds for you. Not today.

This is a picture of Raven, her boyfriend took it of her in a graveyard. I added her to a backdrop I purchased and added a raven I’d taken a picture of in Daytona Beach. I’ll be creating a Raven Fae book featuring her!
