I’m not sure I did this right, but I was trying to share a sample of Cougar’s Mate Audiobook. I LOVE audiobooks. It’s amazing how much work I can get done when I’m listening to a book. Or on a drive, how I can get places without realizing how long it took me to get there.

A disclaimer: Sometimes I have gotten so lost in a book while driving long-distance, that I’ve missed my turnoff. And the first book I listened to while I was painting a bedroom made me want to paint the whole house so I could finish the book. When I listened to them on the drive home from working at the library, I have been known to sit in my car listening to the darn book, not wanting to get out because, ack, the author left me hanging!

I’ve heard that some readers love them because reading pages is too much of an eye strain.

So just throwing that out there, while I’m biting my nails (not really, I don’t really, really do that), gnashing teeth (also don’t really do), and pulling my hair out (it comes out way too much as it is, so no pulling hair out) while I’m trying to figure where to go on this book. And I’m working on taxes–more gnashing of teeth, hair pulling, and nail biting….

Have a super, wonderfully fun or relaxing or both day. I’m having fun!!! Really! I am! Despite the above mentioned problems, I’m having fun! I am!

You know why? Because I’m tackling the problems. And I know if I tackle them long enough, I will overcome and then both the book and taxes will be done and I’ll be on cloud nine again! Really! Until the next deadline. Which follows this one.

Later that afternoon, Alban and his brother went to the feast and found seats at one of the tables furthest from the head table. Alban was glad for that. Though he was still aware that anything he said, no matter where he was, could be misconstrued and shared with the king.

He kept watching the servants coming and going as they brought dishes to the table, though he was sure the redheaded lass wasn’t a kitchen servant.

“Are you looking for anyone in particular?” Ward sounded amused, like he thought Alban had become interested in a servant.

Which Alban had, but he wasn’t about to discuss it.

“Here you are more interested with the wait staff, when a lady truly seems to be intrigued with you.” Ward raised his brows as if to ask how in the world Alban had managed to captivate the attention of a lady at the king’s court when Alban had done no such thing.

At least that he was aware of. Maybe it was the lassie who had waved at them from the loch. He looked around, but didn’t see any woman openly watching him. “Which one? There are many, but no one who seems particularly aware I exist.”

“The lady over there. She is concentrating on her meal now, blushing to the heavens and back. The one with the pretty red hair.”

Alban turned quickly to see the woman, instantly wondering if it was the lass he’d run into, who had been carrying the pitcher of water that had drenched them both. It was she, only now she was wearing a dark blue gown, her hair half hidden beneath veils of silk. “A lady. Are you sure?” Yet the fact she was seated at one of the tables, not waiting on others, and was dressed so fine, ensured him his brother had to be correct. Alban was at once sorely disappointed, wanting nothing more than to see the woman again, but not if her family was titled. He couldn’t. He wasn’t worthy of her hand in marriage—not based on his position in society, anyway.

He let out his breath and said, “Figures.”

But worse, she lifted her gaze and saw him watching her and gave him a bewitching smile, to which Ward said, “Well, well. What have you been up to, little brother?”

And here Alban thought he’d been above reproach the few hours he’d been here so far.

No fall colors here. Well, a few. I keep finding beautiful red leaves in my yard, but don’t know where they’re coming from. Otherwise, most of the trees just shed their leaves.

My books are all stand alone titles, though they are in the same world in the various series,  but they can still be read “out of order” and make sense. 🙂 <3

Why write about cougar shifters? I was writing about wolves that live in the Americas, and jaguars, that are so mysterious and one of the big roaring cats. But I wanted to do one about big cats that live in the States also. The two species of cats have some similarities, but they’re vastly different also. In the parks in Costa Rica, they actually coexist–the jaguars taking down the larger prey, the cougar, the smaller. In many areas, the jaguars would eliminate cougars from their territory that could be eating their food source. So I thought that was interesting.

I’ve got two more books on deadline I have to write and I want to get this one, Taming the Wild Cougar, The Viking’s Highland Lass, and Golden Fae done this year. Tall order. 🙂

And I have student lessons stacking up again ( calculated it and if I don’t do any additional critiques, which I have already done, I’ll have a total of 204 critiques to do), and I need to make word count on A Silver Wolf Christmas. Getting 3,000 words done a day, and have been fortunate to keep making it. It’s easy to get stuck. Especially when you’re jumping from the snowy Christmas story with wolves to the jungles of Costa Rica and the jaguars. And I just submitted a proposal for 3 more books. So we shall see if my publisher wants any more! 🙂 <3

Titles will probably change, but: Jaguar Jingle Bells, A SEAL Wolf Diving for Trouble, and She-Wolf (another Silver wolf pack story) If they get picked out, they will be coming in 2016. I’m already “booked” for 2015 with releases in Feb: Jaguar Pride, April: SEAL Wolf for Sale, Oct: A Silver Wolf Christmas

Cougar Mate is the first book in a brand new and exciting paranormal series from author Terry Spear. As usual, she did an outstanding job with this book. I just can’t get enough of her shifter novels, and this one was no different. This time around the author explores the cougar shifter world, and she made it every bit as exciting as her wolves and jaguars. It was a great read that I enjoyed. Spear easily pulled me into the story with her wonderful characters and vivid descriptions. I had a hard time putting this one down.

Jaguar Fever is book two in the Heart of the Jaguar series by Terry Spear.

Connor and Kat have gone back to the jungle for a vacation. And Maya is supposed to follow one day later. Connor has left her alone for one night. Savage Hunger is book one in the Heart of the Jaguar series by Terry Spear. What I love most about Terry Spear’s books is that they grab you right away and keep you invested until the very last page. And that is exactly how I feel about this book.

Imagine being a Jaguar shifter but not being able to find any others like you. Of there being no hope in sight of finding a mate, someone to share life with, have children with. This is the life Conner Anderson and his sister, Maya have been given. Abandoned by their parents long ago, they are all each other has. They stay under the radar, owning a large gardening business in Texas. But twice a year, they vacation to the Amazon to let their jaguars run free. And this is exactly what they were doing one year ago when Conner first encountered Katherine McKnight.

“He told himself it was fate that had made them cross paths, providence that had brought them together again.”

These three have quite an adventure, both dangerous and comical at times. I love that Terry Spear’s books have everything, humor, sweet romance, and plenty of gripping suspense. I plan to go directly into the next book to see what comes next.
