Have a super Saturday! Back to the world of wolves! šŸ™‚ She-Wolf is the 2nd book of the 4 book contract. If I have time, I’m supposed to write the Wolf in Billionaire’s Clothing. Cougar’s Mate is up for a Vote! Jaguar Reviews!

I totally forgot about this. Cougar’s Mate is up for a vote if you have a moment and the inclination.

http://www.longandshortreviews.com/uncategorized/april-mainstream-book-of-the-month-poll/

And I got these two great reviews for more big kitty cats!

Jaguar Fever is book two in the Heart of the Jaguar series by Terry Spear.

Connor and Kat have gone back to the jungle for a vacation. And Maya is supposed to follow one day later. Connor has left her alone for one night. So you would think she could stay out of trouble, right? Not Maya! She has discovered a bar that is frequented by shifters like herself. And she wants to meet other eligible male shifters. Also, she has been contacted by two long lost cousins so they are going to meet her there. But she didnā€™t anticipate the reaction she would get from the single male shifters when a new wild jaguar shifter enters the bar. And, she didnā€™t anticipate running into Wade Patterson.

 photo images2_zps1117caec.jpg

Wade and his brother David are going to the bar on a job. Little did he know that this would be the night Maya Anderson would walk back into his life. Its been five months since they got back from the Amazon jungle. They never really met but they knew each otherā€™s scent. Wade had been under the impression that Maya was romantically involved with Connor, not that they were brother and sister. So once he realizes that Maya is single and available, he knows he wants her.

ā€œI havenā€™t been in a good catfight in years.ā€ Wade glanced in the rearview mirror at Maya. ā€œBut the prize this time was definitely worth fighting for.ā€ Carol, Goodreads Addict

Savage Hunger is book one in the Heart of the Jaguar series by Terry Spear. What I love most about Terry Spearā€™s books is that they grab you right away and keep you invested until the very last page. And that is exactly how I feel about this book.

 photo tumblr_mals5gi18f1r93y4eo1_500_zps3761df74.gif

Imagine being a Jaguar shifter but not being able to find any others like you. Of there being no hope in sight of finding a mate, someone to share life with, have children with. This is the life Conner Anderson and his sister, Maya have been given. Abandoned by their parents long ago, they are all each other has. They stay under the radar, owning a large gardening business in Texas. But twice a year, they vacation to the Amazon to let their jaguars run free. And this is exactly what they were doing one year ago when Conner first encountered Katherine McKnight.

ā€œHe told himself it was fate that had made them cross paths, providence that had brought them together again.ā€

These three have quite an adventure, both dangerous and comical at times. I love that Terry Spearā€™s books have everything, humor, sweet romance, and plenty of gripping suspense. I plan to go directly into the next book to see what comes next.

Angels Guilty Pleasure is giving away a ebook copy of Jaguar Fever by March 28th!

http://angelsguiltypleasures.blogspot.com/2014/03/seriously-shifter-giveaway-hop-march-21.html?spref=tw

Tomorrow it will be Sia McKye Over Coffee! Post tomorrow.

I’ve been absent, if anyone has noticed. šŸ™‚

I was at the zoo. And I’m behind on my writing. I’ve been collaborating with 3 different author groups to put out 2 box sets, and the other will hopefully be a Highland anthology. Still working on all the stuff. šŸ™‚ So really been busier than I usually am.

I was going to throw out the can of used up paint because yesterday was garbage day, figuring I had to get some new paint, but there was some left and it was good, so I was painting some more. I still have a short wall and some trim to do. And the brick walls to paint. They are a job because of all the crevices in the brick. My delightful daughter said that was one of my New Year’s Goals, to finish painting the room. LOL Don’t you love when others give you a New Year’s Goal??? I have a time enough with making my own! Which I don’t. I have enough writing goals to keep me busy!

So I’m off to write and try to get caught up. I’m at 22,000, think I wrote 1,000 by hand last night, so need to type it, and am aiming at 30,000 by the weekend.

All kinds of interesting stuff at the zoo. Here are a couple of pictures. Oh, and tried to post earlier, but having trouble with WP. šŸ™

alligator (640x427)

American Alligator–he is looking at you! I would not want to run into him in a lake.

courting birds (640x536)

The birds of some kind were having a courting dance and several were going on at the same time. I think the brown is the female and the white the male if the showiness is anything. But if it is, the female was going on at the male, when I often think it’s the other way around. But what do I know??? There’s another brown version, if a female in the lower left hand corner, and she’s making a ruckus also. I think she wanted the guy!

2 poisonous snakes closeup (640x427) (2)

Two headed venomous snake or two snake heads? šŸ™‚

Okay, off to see if I wrote 23,000 or more, hopefully more, and I’m on my way. A storm is coming. In the story, and outside, it looks like too. šŸ™‚Ā  More pictures later. All kinds of great shots this time. Not so much that the picture was the greatest piece of photography of all time–I leave that to all you professional photographers who do such a fine art job of it–but because of the circumstances. Like the mating birds up above. Are these mating snakes? Never know. And the alligator who is watching–YOU! šŸ™‚

Have a super great Thursday!

Terry Spear is one of many authors that writes about shifters. She is also one of my favorites! This month she released Silence of the Wolf “Heart of the Wolf” #13 another great shifter series. Check out my review!

4.5 Wolf Stars!!
Silence of the Wolf is book thirteen in Terry Spearā€™s Heart of the Wolf series. Terry takes us back to Silvertown territory where Darien, Jake and Tom run the pack and town. We get mystery, adventure and passion.

I really enjoy Terry Spearā€™s written style the ease in which it flows. How I can just get pulled back into her wolf series! I love the pack dynamics created in this series. They center on family, doting on the young and welcoming of others. The characters always complaint each other and I enjoy seeing characters from previous books make an appearance.

Just drop by Angela’s site to enter for a chance at a book, and have fun!

Next up is The Highlander just came out in audio! I knew it was supposed to be available soon, but just learned it’s already out! So here are the links!

Anora, the shepherdess, finds a half-naked man in her bed, so whatā€™s a woman living alone in a cottage in the Lowlands of Scotland supposed to do? Prod him with her pitchfork to chase him off! Only the man is not just a traveler seeking her bed for a rest-but a wounded Highlander, who fights back, swinging his sword! Niall MacNeill is searching for a Frenchwoman of nobility to escort to his cousinā€™s castle for safekeeping, when he and his friend, Gunnolf, are attacked by another Highland clan, seeking the same woman. The other Highlanders wish to sell her to the highest bidder-English or French-it does not matter. Niall takes refuge in a sheepherderā€™s cottage to heal up from his wounds and discovers the shepherdess taking care of him may very well be the woman he seeks. He has no intention of doing anything but what his cousin requests of him-ensure her safety on their way to Craigly Castle-but when the lass so bravely wields her pitchfork at him, he is thinking of other, more interesting possibilities.

Okay, and third, the 200 year old skeleton. You know I write urban fantasy, right???

Well, I’m trying to learn how to remove the skeleton from the lake without the sheriff’s department getting hold of it. šŸ™‚

Research can be fascinating. I learned about how hundreds of cars were being removed form lakes–really sad, from joy riders, to those filing insurance fraud because they couldn’t make car payments, to some that held human remains and would solve some cold cases. It’s amazing what gets dumped in the lakes, rivers, etc.

But divers found a 10,000 year old skeleton of a boy in an underwater cave and it appeared it was a “burial” of sorts, but the bones were really well preserved.

No wonder it’s taking me so long to write this book. šŸ™‚

But it’s fun doing the research too. šŸ™‚

Off to write and… research. Happy TGIF!!!

Oh, any Underwater Criminal Investigators with specialties in underwater body and evidence recovery out there?

The Dangers of Yard Work

cardinal side 003

Do you see the elusive cardinal?

Okay, so yesterday was a glorious summery day, wind blowing, warm, beautiful, and I went out to rake. I startled a bunny from the jasmine ground cover as I raked the leaves from it and I swear it looked like a jack rabbit. But it moved so quickly before I had even spied it tear off, that it probably was only a bunny. Jack rabbits have really long ears and legs, and this one looked like one, but I would have had to have really seen more of it to be sure. However, with a road runner here too, it could have been.

So with the eau de skunk permeating the air, I was out raking. The one rake fell apart in my hands. The second worked, but it wasn’t broad enough for me as many leaves as I had to move, and so I went to the third rake, and it blistered my hand.

cardinal side 005

There you have it. I can fight mountain lions, battle snakes, fight for my life in the jungle, or against Highland warriors of old. But go rake some leaves and I’m wounded.

Now, if you read Jaguar Fever, I have where we have a wounded hero and the heroine has to get him some bandages, but all she has are animal bandages. You think I make all this stuff up, right?

So here I am looking for a bandage and what do I find? Toothy shark bandages as they’re ready to take a bite. LOL

Yep, so I now have a blue shark bandage on my hand as I type away. Where I got them from or when, I haven’t a clue.

And that’s my story, and I’m sticking to it.

What are the most fun bandages you’ve ever had? Or do you get those sheer ones so that no one knows you have a boo-boo?

If you want to know if I’m for hire for raking leaves? No. I’ve decided I have a princess’s delicate skin and photography is more my style. Oh, and writing about all this stuff. šŸ™‚

Ever Have One of Those Days???

IT’S A MONDAY!!!!

I forget that Mondays roll around and well, sometimes, though, it’s not Monday that’s the problem. Sometimes it’s Tuesday, that insists it’s a Monday. Or it’s Wednesday, or Thursday. You get the point, right?

Some days several days can be a Monday.

So today, was totally a Monday. First, computer wouldn’t come on. Finally, finally fixed that, and then Internet wouldn’t work. Did I mention it’s a Monday? And I slept wrong so I have a pain in the neck. You know, the real kind. Not just the pain-in-the-neck Monday where the computer won’t work and my Internet won’t work after that.

Okay, so that’s it for my Monday. The rest of the day is going to be a Saturday. I insist.

What about you? Ever have a Monday that’s all week long? Or on the wrong day? Or heaven forbid, fell on a MONDAY?

I feel like this:

Love it When I’m on a Roll!

In writer talk, that means the story just keeps going and I can’t hardly keep up with the characters! I love it when that happens. I wrote 7500 words yesterday! Wish I could do that every day!

But what I’m going to talk about is the paranormal. First, besides writing, I watered a little. Things are burning up. 104 degree temps, no rain, hot, hot, hot, with more to come through September.

So I hosed the stressed plants a little. No rain in the forecast for the next 10 days, which is the same as the last 10 days and will be the same for the 10 days after this.

I decided I needed to take a break from writing, the computer, sitting, and wanted to watch a couple of episodes of Supernaturals.

The AC comes on, I’m getting cold. And I hear this roaring sound. I glance at the window, blinds are all closed, but I can see the shrubs really blowing hard. But it can’t be the wind that’s making such a racket, unless we’ve got a tornado. I walk to another window, peek through the blinds, and it is POURING rain. I don’t do rain dances to make it rain. But I do rain dances when it rains and it’s not supposed to for the next 100 years.

I must water more often.

Have a great Sunday!

I’m off to write some more!

Terry

Coming Up with Story Ideas

Who would have thought being a gate guardian could be so much trouble?
The Trouble with Demons
Witches and warlocks hide their true identities from the rest of the human population, while three teens with demon heritage living with human families, become unlikely companions in a race against time to deal with a demon threat to humankind in their own quirky way.Alana Fainot, a witch and half Kubiteron demon, witnesses a Matusa murder his summoner, and she knows heā€™ll target her next. Raised by her mother, she has no idea who her demon father is. But when sheā€™s pulled to a demon portal, she meets Hunter Ross, half Matusa, half human, who returns demons to their world, but whoā€™s been poisoned by a Matusa and is more dead than alive. His human mother gave him up for adoption, and he doesnā€™t know who either of his birth parents are. His friend Jared Kensington, full blooded Elantus demon, less powerful than the Kubiteron, is a whiz at electronics and helps Hunter track demons in the city, but was abandoned by his parents on Earth world for reasons unknown. Heā€™s determined to find help to save Hunter. Alana knows aiding any Matusa is a mistake, but when she learns Hunter is half human, she makes a dealā€”he protects her against the Matusa who will come for her, and she helps find his dad in the demon world to save Hunterā€™s life.Often at odds, the three teens work together to stop the plans of a group of Matusa to take over the human race before itā€™s too late.

Ā Demon Trouble Too

Alana Fainot is a demon gate guardian, stuck in her last boring year of school. But not for long. Hunter and the rest of the gang show up when her astral form can’t return to her physical form, and she’s at the police station trying to talk her way out of having seen the murderer of a summoner. Hunter always knew Alana was trouble, but his kind of trouble, and he’s not leaving Alana alone again.Celeste Sweetwater, a new kind of demon, joins Hunter and Alana and the rest of the demon guardians in a fight to find a new kind of portal device that can summon several demons at once. But not only that, another Matusa has been unleashed on the unsuspecting human world and the demon guardians must stop him before he wreaks much more havoc. But this time, the police are involved, paranormal investigators pounce on the area, and the whole mess seems to be spiraling out of the demon guardians’ control.

Do you ever wonder how I come up with ideas? Well, in a million different ways. Sometimes from a news report. Sometimes seeing a show or movie and it gets me to thinking. Sometimes reading an adult romance and I begin thinking about it in a young adult way. Or vice versa. I read a YA and I think, wow, wouldn’t this be fun as a sexy adult romance?

In the case of the demon teen series, I had read a cool book, judging for a contest some years back where the woman was being stalked by someone and I think she was part demon. Or he was. Can’t remember. So I thought how cool would it be if I had teens who were partly demons, part humans, just trying to be normal human teens? Ā Well, one of the boys is full demon, but one of the more good-natured ones. And one of the girls is also a witch. So all kinds of fun.

The Vampire…In My Dreams came from reading just the opening of a book I looked at on Amazon, and it was about two women who were sneaking into a mobile home to learn if the guy sleeping in the bed was a vampire. So in my story, I have where the two girls are chasing the vampire in the night. Only they really don’t exist. Only witches and warlocks do. And they are witches.

Then in Kiss of the Vampire…my mother said I needed to write about vampires going on a cruise and eating all the people. Yes, Mom. I kept telling her I didn’t write horror stories. Romance, Mom. I write happily ever afters. šŸ™‚

And the Fae…well, I read an adult fae book and thought wouldn’t it be cool to write a teen version?

Of course, my stories aren’t anything like the other books. It’s just a kernel of an idea that forms and the whole story/world is something totally new. Ā That has to do with voice and the author’s own reading habits, life experiences, etc.

So when you sit down to read a book, do you ever wonder where the author came up with the idea???

Have a super Saturday!!! Off to work some more on The Highlander and A Highland Wolf Christmas!

More Cover Reworks!

I’m reworking all my old covers to try to give them more of the look of what the story is about–more drama, if I can, colors that will emphasize them, better font, in some cases. And several of my covers were too small, so having to get larger sized pictures to redo them. Also, making sure that the title and my name can be see in the smaller formats. It all takes time, hours!

But I’ve also been writing on the new book: A Highland Wolf Christmas, featuring Guthrie MacNeill and Calla Stewart. This will be the last story of the brothers. But Heather, their cousin, needs some romancing, don’t you think? And I’m working on The Highlanders, which is a Highland medieval romance, book 5 in The Highlanders series. Sometimes I’ll do that, hop from one book to another. When I can’t think of the next scene, I’ll work on the other.Ā  So far I have 24,000 on The Highlander, and 2,000 on wolf Christmas. I was stumped on the opening on Guthrie’s story as I wanted it to begin with conflict between the her and heroine right off–he has to be wearing a kilt, and I’ve got the setup for the next scene–more kilt-wearing hunks, only human kinds, and more conflict. And then the next scene–well, that’s how it goes.

Jessie’s Review on USA TODAY

“I love cat shifters, so Jaguar Fever was a fun read, and although I didn’t read the first book, Savage Hunger, I understood the storyline, though I will be going back to read the first. Wade (hero) is also hot, very alpha and has a laser focus when it comes to Maya. As with all of Terry’s books, the love scenes are hot and blush-worthy. Her Heart of the Wolf series is also steamy.”

And Sara and I are at USA TODAY also here!
