This is a sentinel bird. Which means that he sings away on that branch constantly whenever I’m watering or painting the wrought iron. He is their knight, calling out to all the other birds, letting them know that I’m danger. Although I’m not, unless they’re having a bad feather day and don’t want their picture taken.
I came up with the title for the anthology: His Wild Highland Lass
And I started working on it. 1,000 done, 19,000 or so to go. 🙂

Great picture. The bird does look like he’s on guard. Was he the one responsible for chattering in your video the other day?
Yes! Thanks! I don’t know if he’s the same one each time , but every time I go out to water or paint the wrought iron, he’s sitting up there and begins to sing away in a ton of warning tones. In the beginning of the video, the birds were just singing, but then when you hear the louder, more urgent calls, that’s him. I think he was inside the pyracantha when he was warning the others about me. 🙂 I’ll have to share the video on here!
