When Everyone Else is Just Taking a Walk…

I’m photographing flowers. Wildflowers at the edge of a lake road in New Hampshire.

Managed 4,000 words on Sunday on Highland Wolf, yay! I need 24K more. I had one thought, and now as I close in on her father’s castle, I have a whole other idea. That’s how my writing mind works. A lot of times I can’t “see” the situation until I’m closer to where I’m trying to get to.

I have both kids 3 times this week, so that puts a damper on my writing, but hopefully I’ll get some done! In the meantime, the scene I have in mind is only in my head and I need to get it down before I forget it!

I took the photo on the Winnie the Pooh hiking trail in New Hampshire. Talk about an obstacle in the path of success–and yet, with patience and push, the tree root continued on its journey.

May there be no boulders on your journey, but if there are, don’t let them stop you from reaching your dreams.

Taking a Step Back in Time

Which makes me appreciate what we have today. lol 🙂

I’m at 39K on Highland Wolf, kind of stuck. I spent a lot of time cleaning the house last night–I vacuumed, my granddaughter used the steamer to clean the floors, and I got the solar panels in to use with the solar generator. We lost power for a few seconds and my granddaughter ran to get the flashlight. I swear we all have PTSD. Then later, my lamp went out and I’m looking up at the ceiling fan, but it was going. I realized it was the electric cord had come close to being unplugged while we cleaned, I’m sure. I also hand trimmed the dogs’ faces and feet and trimmed all the Sunshine Ligustrum out back. Looks so much better.

But today, I’m hoping I have a breakthrough and I can move forward on Highland Wolf. After pilates.

Double the Ducklings

Two families of ducks out for a swim on a lake in New Hampshire.

Granddaughter is nearly here. I’ve got to run.

Got a battery-operated hedge trimmer so was out trimming a bunch of the hedges back this morning before it gets unbearably hot.

And reached 39K on Highland Wolf yesterday. As busy as we were, I didn’t figure I’d make it!

Foxglove-Poisonous and Pretty

I tried to grow it once. They really are pretty. But they are poisonous. Took the photo in Massachusetts at the House of the Seven Gables garden.

I didn’t get anything written on Highland Wolf yesterday, had both kids and then pilates. And I was working on video book trailers for Highland Bound and Mated for Christmas. Oh, and pictures of the family when we went to New Hampshire.

Off to get ready for my granddaughter’s arrival. I think I’m feeling well enough to take her swimming. I’m still really congested, but the pool will be closing soon when the kids go back to school. I wish it was open longer since it’s soooo hot longer. But the lifeguards go back to school also.
