Bumblebee on Zinnia

He just ignored me as I got as close as I could to take the picture. Love them.

So I haven’t been posting. I’ve had long appts every day or when they’ve given me a break, I’ve been resting. Still don’t have a lot of energy. It’s all from the stem cell transplant and the changes my body is going through. Plus, I can’t eat very much still.

That means it’s hard to build up my strength.

In the meantime, I finally felt well enough to work on edits for Tashama and Wolf Heir. I just wish I could feel better physically. I’m not very patient. 🙂

I have off tomorrow, yay and my son comes in tomorrow night to take over care giving for a month.

Came Home to Zinnias in Bloom!

Back at the hospital. We have to go every day for a couple of weeks or more. I have to give blood every day and check my counts. I needed potassium and magnesium and electrolytes. I’m hoping we can do some diet supplements to pick up those counts so we don’t have to be at the hospital for so long. It’s 5 hours or longer for now.

About another hour and we can go home. I’m tired. I thought I would be feeling my energizer bunny self, but instead, I’m fatigued. BUT they told me to eat all day, not 3 meals. Which makes sense. I can barely eat anything during a meal. I would do better eating small amounts all day long.

I have one more pill and then I’m starting the afternoon pills. I didn’t bring them with me. *sigh*

One of my daughter’s dogs had diarrhea and the kids were taking care of that in the middle of the night. Except hearing the dog bark a few times, I didn’t really hear anything. I’ve been enjoying taking the dogs out to the garden several times a day. I have to bundle up more, can’t be exposed to sun.

I had my granddaughter reading her library book to me. Then we went out with the dogs and I had her pulling down a weedy vine. I would have loved to help her. But I can’t touch gardening for months.

We’re going to repeat that today. I’m also bringing over some of my math workbooks for her to my daughter’s house.

Feeling sick.

Sail, Sailing Away

Dreaming of being released and on my way home.

So apparently, my nausea is due to some of the medicines I’m taking. I haven’t been able to eat much, which I hope will change when I take the medicines at home and then that will help to protect my stomach.

I was going to get dressed and realized I have the IV on again. *sigh*

Ready to be more normal. I threw up my last pill at 2 am this morning. Had twitchy legs last night.

I really need some sleep. But most of all, to get out of here. Supposed to be between 9-12.

I’m Engrafted!

Houston, lots of storms since I’ve been here.

I went into the normal range yesterday on neutrophills and the doctor said I was fully engrafted and didn’t need to worry about the count any further. I asked when I could go home and she said Wednesday. Wooohoo! Mentioned it to the nurse this morning and she said Wed or Thurs. I’ll see the dr in a couple of hours.

My WBC was 2.9 and went back down to 2.8, but I didn’t have a shot yesterday to boost it so it’s all good.

I feel so much better. My throat is back to normal. Still have some mucusitis, but so much better. I didn’t cough or clear my throat all night. And I’m swallowing much better.

But this morning they gave me 11 pills to take, many of them horse pills. It takes forever for me to get them down because I’ve thrown them up before.

So I’m hoping that I’m going home tomorrow. Wish it was today. 🙂

I have to have 24/7 care at home for the next 80 days so my son is coming in for 30 for the month of Sep. My daughter will take care of me for the rest of Aug and part of Oct and then a friend is coming to stay with me for the last 3 weeks. Can’t wait to go home!

Cougar Christmas Catastrophe

Ready for a couple in their prime? We’re back to Yuma Town and retired FBI agent, Florence Fitzgerald knows there’s going to be trouble when she runs into Gregory Divine. Here she had just decorated her bakery and was all set for Christmas too! And trouble is one thing she doesn’t need.

Well, the good news is my WBC is up to 0.5 from 0.2. Woohoo! They say I’ll feel better when my white blood cells come up, but also it will help resolve this mucusitis which is making it difficult for me to swallow. So I’m excited.

I do have to have blood again, and my eyes feel like they’re full of sand again. So I need to mention it to the dr. I don’t know if it’s also part of this whole chemo business or not. But sometimes I can’t even open my eyes despite having refresh tear drops to help.

But things are looking better. My throat is hardly sore at all and my rashes are nearly gone. Now I just need my hair to grow back again. It was really growing back until I had this last bout of chemo. It’ll come back. Just need to give it time.

Wolf Heir!

Getting closer to being done! I have about 5,000 words left to go.

I’m tired, nothing new. My eyes felt like they were filled with sand this morning. Still coughing up this thick mucus which kept me awake all night. I wish it would go away!

My throat isn’t as sore, yay! And my white blood cell count went up to 0.2. Woohoo! It needs to be a lot higher, but at least it’s moving in the right direction as long as it doesn’t backslide. I need my WBCs to fight infection!

My neutrophils need to be 1> but I don’t see them on the chart.

I still can’t drink or eat, but hoping too soon. 🙂

Fairy in the Garden

Fairy in the garden. They don’t mind that my dogs and I walk by and disturb her. She just resettles in her favorite eating spot.

Well, the chemical burns on my skin are starting to heal. Yay!! And my throat is still sore, but feeling a little better. So maybe I’ll make it through this after all. I was beginning to wonder. But I threw up 3 times yesterday, so that part hasn’t settled.

Hope you have some dragonflies eating your mosquitoes too.

Never Wake a Sleeping Bear

He looks so soft and cuddly! I took the photo of him at one of the zoos. Not sure which one. But I was glad to snap a shot when he had his eyes open.

Still dealing with a sore throat. Tried pudding, but it’s too thick. Need to stick to clear cold liquids. Dropped my Popsicle. No!!! lol I’m a mess. Trying the icy Boost Breeze Orange, but began to feel nauseous, so got some medicine for that. I have applesauce, but I’m going to have my daughter bring me some of the grandkids’ applesauce packages. The applesauce is smoother. Maybe I can get that down.

I have to have blood and platelets today, which means my blood counts aren’t going up. *sigh*

I want to fast-forward my life right now. They always say not to want to do that, enjoy the moment of each and every day. But right now, that’s impossible. So if I could fast forward to where I began to build up my counts–they said I would feel better then, I would do it in a heartbeat. 🙂

Bears Having Fun

Love bears!! As long as I’m safe.

Well, last night was the night of all nights. I hope I don’t have another one like that. I got a nosebleed and all that blood was going straight to my stomach, until I threw it all up. It was horrible. They thought they would have to call a doctor in to cauterize the place where my nose was bleeding. But they took my blood and found my platelets (that cause blood to clot) had dropped from a low of 27 to 7. So after applying 20 minutes of pressure to the nose, they gave me platelets and it finally worked.

I also feel the prickle of the stem cells at the back of my throat which makes me gag and cough. So I’m still a mess. Monday will be 3 weeks. I’m hoping that I will feel better by the weekend, but at least by the end of the week so that I might have a chance to go home after another week.

Dragon Family

My throat is so sore! I managed to get cream of wheat down with milk, trying that again and applesauce. That chemo did a number on my throat and it doesn’t feel any better.

Just swallowing is painful. I’ve got laryngitis too. But I started shots last night to help the stem cells grow, so that’s good news. 🙂
