Black Cat Wannabe Black Jaguar

I took the photo of the neighbor’s cat in my yard and then artified it with a jungle setting.

I haven’t felt like doing photo art in a long time, so I’m glad to be doing some more of it.

I also was working on typing up notes I had written in the hospital for The Chosen Fae back in March but never had time to type them up. So I now have 6,000+ words on that book. Woohoo!

I ran to the grocery store to get some things I needed and gas for trips to Houston.

We’re expecting more rain this afternoon. I wanted to walk, but it’s already too hot and muggy.

Woohoo Cold This Morning!

I love it! I was out adding more dirt in flowerboxes. I have another 5 bags to empty, but I did 5 already. It makes such a difference when it’s cool out. I need to hang another solar light, so after that is done, that will be done! lol

I managed to get 1400 words done yesterday. I always shoot for 2,000. Everything has been so hectic. I picked up more breakfast foods for my grandson. I’m not much of a breakfast person. But he’ll be here for 4 days straight, no rushed mornings for daycare, so I picked up sausages and eggs and more yogurt. Hopefully, he’ll eat them!

It’s getting to look a lot like Christmas…

It might not be snowy Christmas-like, but it’s cooler in the mornings, cold some mornings, and feeling super nice. The cat is my friend’s.

I only got 500 words on the book yesterday. We were busy and I was rewriting scenes, so it meant deleting and writing and not just writing new scenes.

Not sure what we’re going to do today, other than we’re going to put up some Christmas lights outside and Christmas decorations on stakes. I got him a Christmas activity book–matching, picking out the right beginnings of words, mazes, different pictures in a row, etc. and he sat on my lap so we could work it together.

Plus, we always do clingy decorations on a window, so he removed the fall ones and put up Christmas ones. We went to karate and he was tired and grouchy, until he got to hit grandma with the noodle. I got to get him first though. He was laughing when he was doing it to me and I was glad he was in good spirits. Off to get busy before little one wakes.

Kitty Cat at the Writer’s Retreat

She loved all the writers’ company, curled up around their laptops, slept or watched us. She was so sweet. I took photos of her, naturally, and petted her. She was in seventh heaven.

Well, this cold got the better of me last night. I couldn’t stop coughing and it got so bad I couldn’t keep my dinner down. I tried everything. Honey, tea, cough syrup, cough drops, nothing would work. I was so close to getting a 1,000 words on Highland Wolf, but I was just coughing so hard, I had to quit. Fifty-six words away from it! I never quit when I’m that close to reaching a goal.

Then I remembered I had nasal saline spray and I got out of bed and took that. That was it. I’m dog tired because of being awake so much of the night before I finally thought to use that. It stopped the constant heavy nasal drip and the coughing for the most part and I was able to sleep some.

I’m off to bed. Maybe I can get some more sleep and think up 56 more words for the story! Right now I’m too tired to think. I’m going to be like this kitty cat, without a care in the world and rest!

We have rain this morning. I need to empty my rain gauges! Except for coder class, I don’t plan to run around anywhere today. Just staying home, recuperating, working on proofing Wolf Bound, straightening out the house.

A Friend’s Cat

We went over to her house when her electric came on and ours was still out. This is one of her cute cats. Not a care in the world while we were all suffering without power. Our power went off twice briefly yesterday and I’m sure we all have PTSD, worried it won’t come back on.

I have both the grands today and we’re going to the grocery store to get a little food. Just enough to keep us going for the day–in case the electric goes out again.

Max, the Butter Eating Cat

A friend’s cat all grown up. I love taking a photo and turning it into photo art.

So I managed writing 2,000 words on Wolf Bound (12,000 more words to go!) and 3,000 words on Highland Wolf (51,000 words to go!) again yesterday. Woohoo! I’m filling in earlier scenes on Wolf Bound and with Highland Wolf, lots of fun conflict.

I have little one today and we’re going to his big sister’s 1st grade graduation ceremony this morning, then coming home, having lunch, and he’s napping. Me too. I can’t kick this cold. I might not manage any writing today. I try to do at least 1,000 words, though on my writing goal calendar, the two days I have him are considered non-writing days (my days off-ha!) because it’s hard to write, especially if I nap when he does. I got them both a stuffed animal for graduation, though his is more for moving up to 3 year preschool classes at day care.

Off to get ready for his arrival. Still doing potty training. And we do lots of reading and pre-school work pages. He loves them. I’m excited to take my grandson to his sister’s graduation. It fell on a day he was in day care last year, so I know he’s going to love going to it also.

My Brain is Less Fuzzy!

Wrote 3,000 words on Highland Wolf and 2,000 on Wolf Bound yesterday. Sometimes I can write more if I switch to another story, but only really if I have an idea in mind. I’ve been getting more sleep, not as much coughing, until last night, and it’s really helped.

This is a friend’s now grown up cat. She says he still loves to eat butter. I’m off to write! I want to go back to bed.

Tortoiseshell Maine Coon Cat

This is another friend’s beautiful cat. She was actually looking up at Christmas balls, so I created this composite instead.

Another day of potty training, painting rusty objects–started on a black bistro set, but need more paint. My granddaughter wanted me to paint the chairs and table all different colors. lol I could have, but I am trying for a more unified look.

Trying to remember which story I wrote that the she-wolf picked up the wrong suitcase and it was full of counterfeit money. I’ve written over a 100 stories for the last twenty years so I remember a lot of details, but my publisher changes my titles, sooooo…. It probably was a novella, but it might not have been. It was with the Greystoke Pack (Bella and Devlyn, I believe). But I want to learn who the mated wolves are in the story so I don’t remate them to someone else accidentally!!!

Off to get ready for little one.

Copper the Ginger Rescue Cat

Isn’t he elegant? My friend took him in and I had fun creating this composite.

I think I had 8 chapters left to edit on The Wolf of My Eye. I’ve finished 19 of them. I had hoped to finish it this weekend, but I was at a Barbie birthday party all day Saturday, so I only managed to get 8 more chapters whittled down yesterday.

I’m off to do some more before I go to pilates for some more torture and then home to concentrate on the Highland wolf book for the rest of the day!
