I’m certain you already knew this–isn’t everyone born knowing this? (My dad and mom’s favorite statement when something is soooo obvious)…but I was looking over some of my zoo pictures, and voila! Lions have spots!!!
Okay, so this is what I know: Jaguars and Leopards have spots (rosettes), and tigers have stripes, and lions… well, they’re supposed to be solid color! Or so I thought. So when did lions begin to have spots???
Maybe these are just really old lions and the spots aren’t like their natural coloration but… the dreaded–age spots.
🙂
So if you didn’t know it… lions and lionesses have spots.
