Ever have a routine–sit in the same seat wherever you go–at church, in school, on the bus, at work, or park in your parking space, and then someone has the disquieting nerve to come along and take YOUR seat or your spot in life, and you have to go somewhere else???
You can be obnoxious about it, or uhm, all alpha wolf, and get your regular seat, or you can be discombobulated and sit somewhere else.
I was presenting a workshop once where the other author had been scheduled for MY room. She had 2-hours and they hadn’t realized it. So the hotel made a spot for me in some off the wall room and the only people who showed up were the three who wanted to listen to my lecture that were standing there when the lady wouldn’t give up the room. Anyone who came a little late to the party had no clue where I was, no signs, no notification. We had a very nice one-on-one type of situation, and it didn’t bother me at all. Well, except for the initial, why isn’t she closing her talk down like ten minutes ago so I could get on with my talk???
So different scenario, but that’s me. My computer went out on me AGAIN on Monday night, couldn’t get it started on Tuesday, so I’m working on my laptop, having to remember all my passwords to get into stuff that I normally access throughout the day. I’m having to sit elsewhere instead of my normal spot. I’m having to find stuff that normally is right at my fingertips. And so…. I feel like that person who has lost their seat to someone else, and has to sit in unfamiliar surroundings.
Even wolves have a routine. They mark their territory, have routes they take, boundaries with each other. If one thing is out of place, it’s a cause for alarm.
I’m trying to get back to working on my laptop, because I can’t go 3 days without writing. Deadline’s looming, no time for being discombobulated.
Do you ever get that way? Have your day all planned out and then, someone or something throws you all off kilter???
Have a great Wednesday!!!! This is me… wanting to be a bear tucked away in it’s cave. 🙂 Until everything is again right with the world. 🙂

awwww Its so hard to believe something so beautiful and cuddly looking could be so dangerous.
LOL, I so agree, Pam.
Been there, done that, got a T-shirt. 🙂 I hate those days. We lost a great author with Tom Clancy passing, god bless.
Exactly, Lori!!! I’m sorry to hear that about Tom. He was a great writer.
