The lioness was sitting right next to the window, first time that she was wide awake.

Cougar, ears to side, they have over two dozen muscles in their ears that help them to focus on sounds and show their expressions
Love the big cats!
Have a great day!

I love your photos. That cougar doesn’t look too happy 🙂
No, with his ears pinned back, that’s a sign of aggression. 🙂 Thanks, Bonnie! 🙂
Great pics. Thanks for sharing them

Thanks, Lin! I love the big cats. The jaguars and cougars are usually pacing, so I couldn’t believe I could capture both of them so close up.
Fantastic photos! I’m not surprised the jaguars are usually pacing. I’ve read many times that they hate being seen. When they’re in zoos they often hide if there’s lots of visitors. If they can’t hide I imagine they’ll become anxious. I wonder if the same is true for cougars?
Thanks, Josh! I’m thinking they want to run and don’t like being cooped up like that. Plus they’re mysterious cats. Not a lot is known about them because they’re so hard to observe. Cougars are similar in that they’re mostly elusive. So it was unusual for the cougar to come right up to the fence like that, so close to where I was taking pictures. And the jaguar was just beautiful. 🙂
Absolutely beautiful. Thank you for sharing these pictures.
You’re so welcome! 🙂
