Monsters Will Be Monsters!

Well, two more wild days of car issues and me driving kids back and forth and helping to pick up cars and/or driving drivers back home. I have to pick up the kids this morning, and yesterday, my granddaughter told me she would stay in the car while I dropped off her baby brother at day care. Uhm, nope. But she was afraid they would “take” her and she couldn’t go home with Grandma. *smile*

We did 2 hours at the pool, she’s doing better at swimming, and we even had a special treat of ice cream, that was all over her face and her clothes and hands by the time she was through–she had a chocolate pop ice cream. She managed to eat half before the other half fell in her hand, then was dripping all over. It was extremely hot out while we sat in the shade and I explained to her why Grandma always gets a cup of ice cream. Much neater that way! lol But I told her the other way is wild and fun too. I didn’t have wet wipes but I always bring cold water with us anywhere we go, and I had tissues to try and mop up the chocolate kid.

Friends Gather.

33K on word count! Yay! Today is a crazy mixed up day. I need to take the baby into daycare, keep my granddaughter, and probably help get their car from the dealership later after it’s been worked on.

It looks like we won’t have any rain for the next 10 days or longer–that’s as long as the forecast shows. ugh.

So I managed to get to 31K on the story yesterday, yay! Getting closer to being done.

I managed to get 28K on Big Cat Magic, and turned in the marketing materials for the Highland Wolf story. Still waiting on the rest of the beta edits to finish that and send it in.

Steampunk Fun

Having some fun with a little steampunk art. Characters and steampunk bird are from Daz3d.

Extra dogs went home finally late yesterday. I managed to get to 24K on Big Cat Magic, made more changes to Lachlan’s story, and it’s already 93 so need to get out the door to walk. My goal is 26K today. 24K is usually my minimum goal for a novella, though I usually end up with 28-30K. So the goal is met! The story hasn’t been finished though! Yay!

We had an inch of rain the other day, none yesterday, still on power conservation because of the extreme heat and this has been going on since June! Possible shower this afternoon, fingers crossed!

The Fae’s Pendant is Missing

You didn’t happen to see it, did you?

It rained yesterday, lots!!! Woohoo!!! We kept getting forecasts for scattered or isolated thunderstorms and the percentage would get lower and lower and go away. So I was thrilled we finally got some. We’ve had the thunder and wind, just no rain. We so needed this! Our electricity went off, then came back on, Internet out for a while. That was way before we had any storms. Every time that happens, I worry we’re having another statewide power outage. This time because of the heat.

Also, I managed to get 2,000 words on the story after all for each of the last 2 days. And Nichole of Rainy Day Artwork finished the ebook cover for Deadly Fortunes, so it should be available with the updated cover soon.

Okay, extra dogs are getting picked up today and then we’re back to my routine of picking up my granddaughter from preschool in the afternoons. And I need to get after my word count.

Created with a background from Daily Textures and overlays. The swan was from a photo I had taken in Scotland.

It’s been sooooo hot! We’ve been warned to keep our electric usage down. I do, but it only works if others do also.

I didn’t make my word count. I was working on edits for Highland Wolf and sent it to my final beta reader. Then I’ll proof it again and turn it in. Still need to come up with Roxie’s story. I’m not sure what time of year to make it, or the plot or anything.

Okay, off to write! One more full day of dog sitting.

These are two brothers that are at the International Wolf Center, Ely, MN. They’re just beautiful. One was showing dominance as the alpha. They were 2 years old here.

I’m at 18,000 words on Big Cat Magic. I’m having a lot of fun writing it. I managed 5,000 words yesterday! Shooting for 2,000 words today. More if they come to me.

Leigh Cover Designs made the cover and she did a couple of beautiful book mock ups for me too. Thanks, Leigh! This is Kolby Jones’s story. Yes, he’s a cougar. But so is she. More about it later! It’s a Halloween Novella, though the way I’m writing on it, it might be closer to a novel by the time I’m finished. If you read my books, longer is better, right? I just have so many things to share in the story, a mystery to solve, a romance to build! 🙂 I’m just having too much fun.

We didn’t have rain and ended up with 114 heat index yesterday. I don’t think we’re going to get rain ever and it’s going to continue to be super heated for weeks. ugh.
