Arman dreams of a teen he met two years earlier when he realizes she’s in trouble. Even though he stays with his Welsh prince vampire friends through thick and thin, this time he’s certain he has to rescue her on his own. They’re not about to let him though. As friends since the Black Death, they stick together. Besides, they’re already known as rogue vampires who help humans and hunters in need, so what else is new? But this time the teen is a huntress, though she doesn’t know it. She’s held hostage by a powerful family of vampires, also that she’s clueless about, and they want her for her dream abilities when she turns eighteen during the red blood moon.
Fiona doesn’t like living with her eccentric great aunt who gives her no freedom until the night of the Halloween dance, big mistake on her great aunt’s part. Fiona meets the teen of her dreams, she thinks, and the same guy she’d run into two years earlier in Dallas, Texas. But how could he be in Portland, Oregon now? Where she is? At her high school dance? She’s drawn to him like she has never been to anyone else, but before long, he whisks her away into a world she has never known—of vampires and hunters. Of witches and dream powers. Of danger and deceit. Somehow, he must keep her safe while she harnesses her abilities to do the same for him before the blood moon makes its appearance and it’s too late.
This is the 3rd book in the series. I had been working on book 2 and 3 of the teen Blood Moon series for a long time, so I was glad to finally finish them both up.
I’m back to working on Dreaming of the Highland Wolf to turn it into a novel. I’ve added 4,000 words, and need about 33,000 more. lol But it’s getting there! That’s a lot farther than if I needed 80K. At least I keep reminding myself!

It has warmed up to 44 degrees and I was out feeding the birds, starting the fountain, and filling up the birdbath with fresh water. We’re supposed to be getting down to freezing on Saturday again, so I’ll shut off the fountain before then. At least the bird bath warmer is working great.
This morning, I had tons of goldfinches arrive. They journey through here usually in the spring. But it was fun seeing them. I also pulled down all the bell pepper plants and tomato plants and the dogs were scrambling to eat the frozen tomatoes.

Having so much fun with the photos I took in Okinawa!
Still in the deep freeze at 20 degrees, though that’s much better than 7 degrees yesterday, but we’re supposed to get to 45 later today and 66 tomorrow! Weird weather.
I managed to add 2,000 words to Dreaming of the Highland Wolf yesterday, turned in Mated for Christmas edits, and am still waiting for Night of the Vampire to come out on Apple.
All my tomato plants and bell pepper plants succumbed to the cold, as did the lantana and other flowering plants. My roses froze. I had icicles all over the ground where they’d fallen off the roof.

I added the flowers but left some of the volcanic rock that was so prevalent on the island.
It’s 19 degrees out but feels like 7 degrees. We don’t usually get this bad a freeze so I finally got a bird bath warmer and it’s working! I’m not sure the birds are drinking from it since I put the warmer in though. I had to keep breaking up the ice yesterday and then they flocked to it to drink before the warmer arrived.
They closed schools today. We’re just not capable of handling icy roads out here. Okay, just saw a cardinal taking a sip. Yay!
I finished proofing Night of the Vampire. I’ve been trying to come up with some more story to Dreaming of the Highland Wolf. I had one, tried it, and then I didn’t feel it was working, so am heading in a different direction.
We are cold here! I know it’s not like up north, but we aren’t winterized or have winter clothes like they do up north, and on top of that, our Texas grid is so bad, they keep telling everyone to not use electric appliances or we’ll all be without electricity like when so many people died over it one year. And why is this?

Soooo cold. I’m working on finishing proofing Night of the Vampire. I had a thought about Dreaming of the Highland Wolf a couple of days ago. Should have written down. Not sure what it was now. lol

Well, we had a great hike, saw some cool primitive Texas buildings that had a shed for wagons, split rail fence around a garden, outhouse, small one bedroom house, couldn’t see inside the other, a smokehouse, and earthen root cellar, etcetera. We walked with several families and their Girl Scouts, so that was fun.
Last night was great for our overnight slumber party, though shortly after I went to bed at ten after proofing another chapter of Night of the Vampire, here comes my granddaughter. In the morning, she put the dogs out and fed them, made herself cereal, did two reading assignments and two math pages, and then I got the little one up. So they’re both having cinnamon rolls and yogurt. Strawberries are next up. They’re watching a kids’ show, and then we’ll dress warmly and go out to pick up pine cones. With all the strong winds we’ve been having, they’ve blown down tons. I’d picked up the ones in the backyard, but it’s full of pine cones again. And I need to cover my plants before the hard freeze tonight.
Need to empty the fountain and birdbaths of water too. And I hope to finish proofing Night of the Vampire after the grandkids go home, though I might get in a chapter this morning.

My daughter-in-law captured the monkey photo in Okinawa while we were at the botanical gardens. We fed them later. I added the artistic touch. She did a great job!
Busy day ahead with taking a hike and then the grands are coming for the weekend. My granddaughter has already asked for Jack-in-the-Box meals, ice cream at the ice cream shop, and in the morning? Probably donuts or cinnamon rolls. A special movie. Maybe playing in the park, depending on the weather!

I finally updated my website and my book lists, though I still need to turn them into pdfs and add them to my websites. I love just writing books, but there’s so much promo stuff I need to do and sometimes I get way behind on it!

I was so cold yesterday, even the juncos arrived and they only pop in when we have really cold weather. I took the photo of the polar bear at the San Diego Zoo. He would have felt right at home here.
Nearly finished Mated For Christmas. I was thinking of going back to work on Dreaming of the Highland Wolf, but I was reading a little of the sequel to Deadly Fortunes, about a psychic and her psychic cousins. The second story is about her cousin.
Anyway, little one is nearly here and I’ve got to run. Have a brilliantly fun day!
