Huntress Unleashed is Out!

Dane hunts down rogue vampires and is on a mission when he is ambushed and pays the price. Jacqueline Anderson also hunts rogue vampires, loses to a vampire, and fights her attraction to the hunter when she has her own demons to battle. Juggling Manuscripts

One of my lovely fans asked when my next book would be out. I finished Huntress Unleashed, but was giving myself some time to look at it with a fresh mind before I proofed it and sent it to my beta readers. It really helps to do that–to set aside a manuscript and then reread it as if I hadn’t ever read it before. So I started doing that last night. Once I’m done, I’ll send it off and then get back to the Highland story. I need another 29K words on it. I haven’t put out a Highland story in years, so I really wanted to get this done also. And yes, it does have a mystical, paranormal side to it.

And then??? Not sure. A shifter or a fae or elf book? I even had a request for another Magic of Inherian book.

Little one will be here today, so we are going to the grocery store as my fridge is again bare. And we’ll do more gardening. It’s 49 degrees today, so it really got chilly for us. So we might wait on doing some gardening. I’ve decided I’m a warm weather gardener. 🙂

This is the 3rd book in the series. I had been working on book 2 and 3 of the teen Blood Moon series for a long time, so I was glad to finally finish them both up.

I’m back to working on Dreaming of the Highland Wolf to turn it into a novel. I’ve added 4,000 words, and need about 33,000 more. lol But it’s getting there! That’s a lot farther than if I needed 80K. At least I keep reminding myself!

It has warmed up to 44 degrees and I was out feeding the birds, starting the fountain, and filling up the birdbath with fresh water. We’re supposed to be getting down to freezing on Saturday again, so I’ll shut off the fountain before then. At least the bird bath warmer is working great.

This morning, I had tons of goldfinches arrive. They journey through here usually in the spring. But it was fun seeing them. I also pulled down all the bell pepper plants and tomato plants and the dogs were scrambling to eat the frozen tomatoes.

Happy New Year’s Eve!

My son has been busy making a computer game. I’ve been busy writing. Ended up with over 7,000 words yesterday, and had dinner and played games with my daughter and SIL last night.

I believe I forgot to blog yesterday! We had 3″ of rain yesterday.

Under tornado watch this morning and flash flood warnings.

I’ve written 102,000 words on 5 different books since Dec 9th. But I need to finish one up.

I decided to change the title of Dangerous Liaisons to Primal Desire because I have a cover for it and because I was afraid Deadly Liaisons would be too similar to the working title. I’m now at 57K on Primal Desire. Yay!

Tomorrow I should be starting on the new white wolf book (deadline book), David Davis’s story. But it will be New Year’s, so I might still work on Primal Desire. My son leaves on Sunday, so I’ll probably start the white wolf book then. Then we are back to our regular programming and I’m back to taking care of my granddaughter a couple of days a week, etc!

Okay, I’m off to work on writing before I have to stop and do other things.

Skipper Butterflies

I love skipper butterflies because they hold still for pictures. They come in all kinds of different colors. They have thicker bodies like moths, but they keep their wings up at rest like butterflies. I also have some white butterflies in here that keep nice and still for photo taking.

But just maybe being a hunter turned vampire isn’t the worst thing that can happen to him, if he can have an edge against the vampires, if only he wasn’t shunned by the huntress he has lost his heart to.

When I was thirteen, my mother took me to a college play, Dracula. I fell in love with the vampire and felt he should be loved and loved back in return. Not under his control, of course. So that’s where my series began. Not when I was thirteen, but before I began writing wolf shifter stories.

Merry Christmas Early!

So we’re celebrating Christmas today. Last night my daughter emailed me and asked if I got the tortillas. You know, for the breakfast tacos. Now, when I picked up the dinner fixings on Thursday, I asked her what else I needed. Nothing.

So no tortillas for breakfast tacos. She said that meant they were deconstructed breakfast tacos. Just remember that. If you don’t have all the ingredients for a meal, they’re….deconstructed. lol

I figured I get up early enough before they all wake up and I’d get my daughter and myself a drink from Starbucks on the way to the grocery store. My son-in-law only drinks Dr. Pepper.

Now, yes, we have a lot of crime in the area, we’re a suburb of Houston after all, BUT we also have a lot of nice folks. When I pulled up to the window to pay for our drinks, the cashier said that the man ahead of me had bought my drinks. Merry Christmas.

You know how that made me feel? Like spreading the cheer. What a sweet thing to do. There are indeed truly nice people in the world.

I told the Hispanic cashier at the grocery store about no tortillas for breakfast tacos as I was buying them and she laughed. I’ve never had them so this is all a mystery to me. I told her about my daughter saying they were deconstructed. If you can make someone smile today, go for it!

My daughter emailed me and said little one is running around like crazy, and my son-in-law is zonked out.

That’s okay. I need to blog, get my camera ready, work on a vampire romance and when they get here, have a truly lovely family Christmas.

Reindeer Pups

I love my dogs. They make great frog princes, reindeer, pumpkin heads, Ewoks, whatever I can think of to turn them into and they’re so good-natured about it. Okay, so Tanner looks like he’s giving me the look and Max won’t look at the camera (but he is camera shy and he never looks at the camera if he can avoid it), but really, they are eager for me to pay attention to them so they both are jumping at me to try the “thing” on. When one has it on, the other one wants it on, then it’s time to take it off. Good puppies.

I’m still working on Vampire Redemption, 8,000 words in 3 days. I have 23,000, need around 50-60K more. I’m hoping to be halfway done by the end of next week (around 40K), but I’ll have to begin working on the Highland wolf book, so I may not get this done for another year.

Not all vampires are evil in my books. When I saw Dracula in the theater when I was a teen, I fell in love with him. He deserved to be loved. Just like Wolfman did. So in my stories, vampires can be good and some are rogues, just like in my wolf stories. Just like humans.

Hunters, who survived the Black Death like the vampires, are changed, except they don’t drink blood. They hunt the rogues. But what happens when a hunter is turned? Now the rogue vampires really have a fight on their hands.

I’m off to get things done! We’re having our Christmas early so the kids can see his parents for Christmas Day. We alternate each year. I used to see my son on alternate years, but he and his new wife are having her mother visit instead. So that will throw us off completely for next year. Either they can visit and see all of us, or I’ll visit them at some other time. Family is really important to me, but it has to work both ways.

The Blue Octopus Troubles Returneth

Truly, this could be a short story! So I return the 3 blue octopuses that were not what I ordered, and got a note yesterday from Amazon saying that I was being charged for one that wasn’t returned, and what they were charging me for was more than the refund they gave me because they cheated me out of my refund to begin with!

So I was back on the chat again, trying to get it straightened out. Yes, all three ugly blue octopuses had been received. Wow, what are they trying to pull anyway??? And yes they refunded me for a different teapot that was less expensive and they owed me $8.13. They would give me $8. Does that sound screwy or what? And besides that, they applied it toward another item that I didn’t need a refund for, something entirely different.

And they still probably shorted me on the amount. Sheesh.

So I made a video for my first vampire romantic suspense, and am working on the ones for the others in the story, revamping my webpage, and redoing 3 more covers. Another is done, but I still need to work on 3 more, and then I’ll make some fun videos for each of them. I made two more yesterday for others.

When I was thirteen, my mother took me to see Dracula, a play at a local community college, and I fell in love with the count. He deserved to love and be loved in return. That’s how I felt. Poor guy.

In this story, the huntress is NOT falling for the vampire… But there’s a twist. Oh, and I worked at Fort Hood where she’s stationed, so some of the places she’s at, I was at.

Okay, I’ve got to get to writing. I have edits on You Had Me at Jaguar due on Friday, baby will be here two days a week now until next summer, and I’m still trying to reach the end on the Silver Town wolf book. I am having fun watching the birds too–there are three red-bellied woodpeckers flying back and forth to the feeder, I saw two hummingbirds yesterday, a monarch butterfly, a number of blue jays, and a family of cardinals are all over the place this morning. I’m in fairy bird heaven.
