Yep. Just went in for an x-ray and learned I have a broken toe, but my care team wanted me to have my blood drawn because my hemoglobin was so low. Well, why didn’t they give me blood on Wednesday when I had to get platelets?
So Friday night, my foot was so swollen, I went in for an x-ray. I broke the toe on Thursday. They ran tests on my blood, found my hemoglobin had dropped even more, now I need blood. No problem. Except they can’t get the blood. I’m special. Ha!
So Friday, no blood, Saturday, no blood, and I’m stuck in the hospital. They won’t release me until they can get blood. More blood tests. My blood has dropped lower. No blood. More blood tests. It went up 0.1. Not good enough. On Sunday at 2 am, they finally have blood. I’ve had the transfusion. But now they’re waiting on my blood work to see if it’s enough.
And all of this because I went in for an x-ray.
Hope your day is better than mine. I’m hoping I get out of here soon. But I have my doubts.

It is good thing that you found out that your blood count was not good. But it is a good thing you were there.
I am praying your blood count gets better soon.
Blood transfusions are not nice to get but you need them. Same with biopsy’s. But is great that your biopsy was okay.

Thanks, Sheila Claire! I was glad to get the blood and feel a little better! I hope my counts begin to improve while I’m off chemo. I have blood work again tomorrow, so fingers crossed!
