Geese and Their Goslings–Lake of the Ozarks

There was so much wildlife around the Ozarks. We saw a mink go into a hole lakeside below a cabin, but we were paddling a paddlewheeler and I didn’t have my phone with me to capture it. Deer were all over. A heron kept landing on gray rocks that I couldn’t capture either. A beaver was crossing the road. We even saw a family of wild boars in Texas on the way up there. And the swallows undercover at the Mexican restaurant.

We saw bats at night, leaving caves, and ducks and their ducklings. And carp at the lake below the cave we went through, and some other fish my granddaughter kept catching and releasing.

I’m off to work on more edits on Bear in Pursuit before my granddaughter arrives. We’re working on spelling, writing, reading, and math through the summer to get a head start on 4th grade. I’m so grateful she’s here for the summer like she has been every summer before I got so sick last year. So we’ve been working on HEB, Girl Scout, and library reading goals.

If I could, I’d take her swimming, but I can’t get into the water yet. Boo.

Have a super fun-filled day!!

  1. Hi Terry
I see some of our Canada geese invaded Texas.😅
They are the most prolific birds on earth.
They certainly are not ever going to be on the endangered list.
Glad to see you are getting stronger and can do some holiday trips.
Oh did we have a gully washer last night. The rain just came down in buckets. No pun intended. It’s the. Canadian way. 😇

    • Yes on the geese. They are everywhere, though I’ve never seen goslings before. Yes! I was so glad to go on vacation. I couldn’t go into the lake to play with everyone, but we did a ton of stuff. We’ve had so much rain too. 4″ yesterday. And it’s raining again this morning. I actually pulled weeds in the rain. No mosquitoes biting.
