Santa’s Village

I can’t believe I haven’t blogged in a couple of days. Things are so hectic here. After getting the drywall fixed, I got caulk for the bathroom shower and fixed a crack before water gets into the drywall in there and I am getting some super glue for putting a baseboard in place. It’s been sitting in my closet for ages. The nails won’t hold it so every time I vacuumed, it would come off. So I was reading how to fix it with glue and hope that works. And I brought in another outdoor decoration to paint. It’s a yellow bird on a faucet. I think I might make it a bluebird. The bird had faded so much, and it was never really that pretty in the beginning, so it will be fun to repaint.

I’ve been working on a cover for Night of the Vampire. I have one that someone made, but I never liked the characters on the cover. She looks too old, he looks too young and not as appealing as an intriguing teen vampire. So I’ve been playing around with that, getting ready for Christmas, etc.

So I didn’t get but 1500 words written on Night of the Vampire yesterday. Isn’t that crazy? I didn’t make it to my goal of 2000 words, so I was bummed about it. lol Today I’ll have to get 2500.

Wolves and the Elf

So you know how I was trying to get to 80K on Wolf on the Prowl? It’s now at 101K and I’m still trying to finish it. My editor won’t like it that long. So I’m going to have to finish it and then start cutting anything that is unnecessary.

We’re supposed to have rain today. The roofer said he’d have someone patch up things until they replace the roof. I sure hope so because we’ve got more rain coming.

During the Full Moon

Friends Gather.

33K on word count! Yay! Today is a crazy mixed up day. I need to take the baby into daycare, keep my granddaughter, and probably help get their car from the dealership later after it’s been worked on.

It looks like we won’t have any rain for the next 10 days or longer–that’s as long as the forecast shows. ugh.

The Problem with Little Ones is…

They get sick. Lots. Day care germs. Church baby room germs. On Monday, she was running a fever and she slept in my arms for 4 1/2 hours, while I tried to edit my book with scribbles that I had to decipher later. Poor little thing. I hope she’s feeling better today.

The Elf and the Hummingbird

So yesterday, I actually managed to write 5,000 words. I couldn’t get on the computer to post my blog in the morning and finally gave up and wrote on the book. No internet, spinning dial, so I figured I’d try to get it preposted for Wednesday, and NOT do the dumb thing and accidentally publish it Tuesday night, but for Wednesday morning, because between baby being here and my internet problems in the morning, it takes me forever to blog.

And that’s my story…

I’m only 5,000 words away from minimum word count, though the story usually is much longer. I have a long ways to go on it, but finally had some time and some inspiration for some ideas I needed to add. Still need to do the taxes too, and a bear! I am ahead on the book, but it doesn’t seem like it because I have so much else to do. And who knows when I will really finish the book. April 1st is not an April Fool’s Day but a deadline day.

Being Crafty at Christmastime

I’ve made bears for years and years and years, and have 3 orders to get out, along with finishing the two books I’m editing and I have an audiobook to approve. But in the meantime, I also had to put up my tree and decorate for Christmas.

Here are some of my very early works. I used to make a ton of dolls. And sold them. So here are some of the remaining Christmas elves that help me to decorate the tree every year. 🙂

See, that wasn’t hard, and now it’s done!
