Blackness Castle Wall Walk

Can you imagine being a guard on the wall walk watching for danger?

I loved seeing the castles in Scotland and envisioned being there in the far distant past. Of course, I also thought about how all these buildings are in amazing shape for being so old! Don’t you wish your home could last like that? Though with all the amenities we have today!

I’m off on the writing journey for the day. I’m trying to learn more on marketing! I love to write mystery in my books, but marketing is still a mystery to me!

Have a beautiful day!!!

Oban Scotland at Night

I love photographing reflections in water and it was especially fun to do so when the area was lit up with lights at night.

Ironically, we got hot there. The sun was out for the most part during the day and I had to buy a short sleeved shirt! When we returned to Edinburgh, it was cold and rainy. Loved it though! I wanted to get away from the Texas heat. It sure has returned with a vengeance, with daytime temperatures of 95.

But at least it’s cooler in the mornings, and any relief from the heat is welcome.

I’m still waking up at 3 am, can’t break the habit, which is why I’m writing my blog at this time.

Have a delightful day!!!

Midhope Castle Outer Buildings

I love old buildings and these on the Midhope Castle property in Scotland, the first two behind the castle, would have had some importance at some time. What were they used for? The one has two chimneys. Another residence, maybe? I can just envision the staff of the keep busily working in all of these places.

I’m still working on my website, nearly have it sort of straightened out. I still need to do a lot on it, but for now, at least it has better uniformity for the book covers and the setup isn’t as squirrely. 🙂 I still need to make sure all my buy links are there and they work. With over a hundred books published, the task was daunting!

I’m off to work. Want to get back to writing, but still having jet lag issues. Waking up at 3 every morning. Hopefully, my sleep pattern will be back to normal soon.

Hope everyone is safe where the hurricane is hitting now!

Have a stupendous day!

Blackness Castle

Blackness Castle is a 15th-century fortress located on the south shore of the Firth of Forth, in Scotland. And see the little crab? When we entered the castle, there it was inside the tunnel of a walkway. He had to travel a long way to find his way in there.

Notice all the rocky terrain inside? Can you imagine trying to maneuver over that all the time? The rocks near that one entry into the keep was slippery and though it looks easy to navigate, like there’s a path, it’s not all that smooth and yet it is smooth enough to make it very slippery. It was misting on us that day. Very well preserved medieval castle.

Can you imagine our homes lasting that long?

I’m still redoing my website. Off to work and then having lunch with my granddaughter!

Midhope Castle in Scotland–Outlander Setting

Midhope Castle, West Lothian, Scotland. I just love old castles.

It’s the real-life location of Lallybroch, the ancestral home of Jamie Fraser in the Outlander series.

A family actually lives here, which is why it is kept up so nicely.

My birds haven’t come back after I starved them for two weeks. The squirrels are back though. It doesn’t take long for them to figure out there’s a handout for them. It was so nice and cool this morning, I was out weeding. I hope it continues to be cool in the morning so I can keep after it.

I’m off to work on the two stories I’m finishing up that I wrote scenes for on the plane coming and going and I need to work on my website pages some more.

Have a super fun day!!!

A Scottish Castle

I have no illusions of grandeur. If I had lived at this castle in times of old, I’m sure I would have been one of the scullery maids.

But it sure was fun checking them out. I’m off to bring the puppies home. I’m sure they feel I abandoned them forever!

So if you had been here, what would you have been? A Lord? A Lady? A warrior? A farmer? Whatever it was, you would NOT have wanted to have been a prisoner in the dungeon!

Have a beautiful day!

Tide Coming In

Took the photo in Scotland at low tide. I added the water coming in. I don’t think the boat to the right is used much if at all. lol To the left of these, high up on the hill, were castle ruins.

I’m off to let the dogs out and start my day! We were going to see bioluminescence jellyfish off the coast of Galveston, but a cold front moved in and they’re gone unless we want to go to see them at 1 am, with the grandkids. Don’t think so.

Hope your day is super fine!

Fuzzy Highland Cow

I combined two photos of Scotland that I had taken while over there to create this. I love Scotland!

I’m off to work on Huntress Unleashed. 12,000 more words to write! Getting to the end! Yet, not really. Even though I edit all along, I will need to really edit once the book is fully written from beginning to end. That’s the fun stuff. 🙂 Because the book is written. Then I just have to make it better.

Step into pastoral Scotland, or anywhere idyllic like that and have a beautiful day!

Whimsical Scotland

Every time I visited Scotland, I just felt it was magical. So the picture of Scotland, the woods, reflected in the loch is mine and I added some more magic to it that I’m sure is truly there but just not visible to us mere mortals.

Off to donate books to the library–I have WAY too many because of my years of going to author conferences and it’s time to lighten the load. I’ve done purges periodically for years, but it’s time again. I hate releasing them, but… Remember that Hoarders show I watch? Yep, it gives me incentive to unload some things I’m just not using–ever.

Spring cleaning in the Summer and it feels great!

Have a super day!!

Dragon on the Prowl (Fantasy Art)

The castle is actually a picture that I had taken, along with the castle gardens in another picture and the clouds were another shot. In Scotland, I would often get white sky backgrounds so I needed to add clouds. I also added texture for fun. And the dragon, of course.

Ugh, Daylight Savings Time. I need to remember to reset my car clock.

I soared with the dragons yesterday! I ended up writing 7,000 words on Wolf Pack. It’s a novella, so now I have 9,000 words done. Yay!! I shoot for 23K on a novella, but sometimes they end up around 33K. It just depends on the story, but I’m having a blast writing it. It’s a medieval Highland wolf story, first that I’ve done.

I’ve got to run errands, not wanting to, but we’re celebrating Saint Patrick’s Day and I am out of food again.

Have a wonderfully, imaginative day!
