But first: A great review from RT Magazine!
“Spear has become a master storyteller with striking depth of emotion and wonderful characters… if you’re looking for a love story with adventures, a little love humor and a sexy crime-fighting hero, this story would make a great addition to your collection.” – RT Book Reviews, 4 StarsI planted marigolds, planned to plant them around tomato bushes, but sort of got the cart before the horse. I ordered the planters for the tomato bushes, but they won’t be here for another few days. So I went ahead and planted these around the pine trees and they make it look like miniature fairy gardens. They’re great for deterring some kinds of bugs, which is why they’re perfect to plant with tomato plants. The first pine tree was no problem. I started working on the second, fire ants, ugh. So I moved to the third pine tree, more fire ants. There’s no better way to ruin a fun planting day! Especially if you manage to get bitten.
But it made me wonder if the marigolds would make the fire ants move. They have a noxious odor, but I love it because I know some of the more pesky bugs hate it. Their roots also emit a substance that deters some kinds of bugs. It made me wonder what other plants help with that. Here is a list of what works with what.

Someone was mentioning lavender is a great plant for chasing away mosquitoes, so I’m going to try some of that. 🙂 The article also talks about beneficial insects, and plants that compliment other plants, help them to do even better, which I hadn’t heard about.
Okay, back to Viking. Working on edits.
Have a great day!
