So my granddaughter and I planted lots of flower seeds yesterday. We also walked in the misty, rainy morning and my granddaughter was worried about her hair getting damp. lol I told her that’s why she should wear her hat, that she kept dropping. She had a ball planting. She uses my kneeling pad to sit on, then scrapes away at the dirt and then pours ALL the seeds from a package in one hole. I try to teach her they need to be spread out. It doesn’t seem to be sinking in, so that’s my job. Spread them out and cover them up. She tells me they need dirt, water and sunlight to grow.

We have fun gardening together, and of course I’m weeding like crazy too.

So my daughter finally decided to take off from work to have the baby and I’m so glad. She wants to walk tomorrow. I’m still taking care of little one. So I suggested Little One and I meet her at her house a half mile away and we walk her to the community center to sign up for the pool. But I drive my car to the center, so that I can drive her home if she can’t make it back. I’ll have little one’s stroller because I know she won’t be able to make a mile and a half. This is all contingent on the weather, my daughter not having the baby in the middle of the night, or by the time we’re going to walk in the afternoon, or that she feels she can walk that distance.

At least I think it’s going to be a little cooler today, and we did finally have storms last night.

We had a notice thanking us for conserving on our electricity because we nearly had a catastrophe yesterday. Wait, what? Number one, I didn’t get a notice to conserve. Number two, I absolutely refuse to put on my air conditioning until it’s consistently at a hundred or so degrees. I had the fans on. The house was fine. But one day of 98 degrees and we’re going to be without electricity? Like when we had the freezing weather for a week?

Something is seriously wrong with our electric provider in this state:

According to ERCOT, demand for electricity came close to the amount of power generation available yesterday afternoon. At approximately 4:30 p.m. on April 13, ERCOT issued a conservation alert and you answered the call. Because of your response, the grid held strong.

Wait until we have weeks of 110 degree weather!!! They have really mishandled things. And I’m afraid it’s only going to get worse. Weirder weather, you know.
