Zinnia in the Garden

I did plant some new zinnia seeds, but some of it is from seeds that resowed themselves from last year. Oh, and I had gathered a bunch of their seeds too and planted them. So I probably hadn’t needed to plant any new ones. And my sunflowers are coming up from the bird seeds. Silly birds. They’re supposed to eat them. So this year, I’ve just let them grow and have a bunch of beautiful sunflowers. I loved the natural bubbly bokeh with this orange zinnia of the light on the flowers behind it.

It’s hot and going to be so all week. With heat reaching 104 degree heat index and the ozone in bad shape–they say it’s dangerous to be out in the sun right now. I try to do all my activities early and late, and get to the writing during the day. Though I didn’t get much done yesterday. Not with my granddaughter being here. We swam for 2 hours, walked, and then stayed inside and read books.

I took my walk this morning and it wasn’t bad. But now I’ve got to get to writing! Oh, I did brainstorm with my friend Donna over the Red Wolf Christmas book last night. I need to get the synopsis and other marketing materials ready by Friday. I won’t have my granddaughter for all of Thursday, so that will give me another half day to work.

Have a happy day!
