I feel off-kilter!

Between me being sick–sore throat, coughing, stuffy nose and not able to sleep, I’d finally manage and Max started throwing up before midnight. I was so tired, I started thinking about the elementary school when I went to get my granddaughter and they said 5 kids had been throwing up at school and had to go home early. One of the dads was there picking up both of his kids, one of whom had been sick. Even the cold medicines in the grocery store are sold out.

Then Max was whimpering and I just wanted to sleep so badly. I finally got up to take him out and cleaned up the mess he’d made. He returns to bed and at 4:30, it’s a repeat of all above, throwing up, whimpering, going out, me cleaning up, him coming back in to go to bed. At 5:45, he’s back at it. Then my SIL arrives with the kids at 7 and I’m still in bed. I had finally managed to fall asleep. I never sleep that late.

I can’t wait to fix lunch, put little one down for a nap and take one myself. Don’t ask me any questions. My brain is fried. Working on the story? Not happening.

I’m about to sit down and read some stories to the baby and I’m trying to teach him his colors. We’re watching Baby Shark and some of the baby rhymes. Hopefully I’ll make it to when I have to pick up big sister from Kindergarten.

Highland Wolf Story

I finished edits on Her Wolf for the Holidays and turned it in. This is Lachlan’s story, the youngest MacQuarrie brother. I worked some on edits on Bear in Mind and reached 47K.

Had violent storms last night. They’re supposed to end this morning! The grandkids and I had fun. Both kids love to be read to, even the 18 month old, so we read a lot of books and I set up a table for him to color on while big sister colored and cut and pasted pictures together. She was scribbling on her sketchpad, then asking me what she wrote. lol

I love it. She wants to write in cursive! I don’t even think they’re teaching it in school any more. So I was writing words she knows already in cursive, then printing them so she could recognize them.

I’m off to work on Bear in Mind!

Wood Sprites in the Garden

I’ve got the grandkids for 6 hours today, so trying to get some things done this morning and then tonight. We’re going to the playground before it storms, hopefully. They’re coming at 1 and storms are supposedly coming at 3. We never know for sure!

I have edits on Her Wolf for the Holidays which is Lachlan MacQuarrie’s story and then it goes to book making!

I’m at nearly 47k on Bear in Mind. And finishing up two mohair bears. I also finished the new Lime Frost bear!

Before the time runs away from me, I’m off to work! Hope your day is super fun!

Pigeon at Daytona Beach

I always wonder when it’s too late to blog because I didn’t do it first thing in the morning???? Do I skip it, or get to it?

I’ve been busy cleaning out my dishes. I need to really clean out a lot of stuff I don’t use. Do you have clothes hanging in your closet you never ever wear???? The same thing with the dishes.

And it feels good to give them to someone who can use them.

Okay, so I’m off to work on Bear in Mind. I wrote a scene last night and nearly am to 46K.

I know. It should be done by now. But I was brainstorming with a good friend again and I might have a direction to go in! Maybe! I never know until I start writing the scenes.

Temperature Dropped!

The temperature dropped to the 40s, but will be at 70 this afternoon, but tomorrow??? 77 degrees. How can it be so hot in winter???

So my granddaughter has routines. Don’t we all? We got home, and we were going to go over her reading words, but she had to have a piece of bread and a tortilla. Now, my mother would have said that’s too many starches at one sitting. Do you have words of wisdom from your parents that come back to haunt you forever?

Anyway, my granddaughter’s mom comes early to take her to Girl Scouts, though it was cancelled, but she’d already left work before she learned of it, so she arrives early and my granddaughter starts to cry. Routines are routines. lol

Grandma quickly explains what the matter is, and so with bread and tortilla in hand, my granddaughter heads out with her mom to the car and of course she was so good to share with her baby brother, who is eyeing the bread and tortilla with hunger pangs.

Everyone’s happy and today I will be walking to her school to have lunch with her. She told me her mom gets better tortillas than I do, by the way, so I had to learn what they were! The freshly made, buttery kind. My granddaughter said they were yellow and softer and tasted so good. They’re HEB brand. So next time I go to the store, I’ll have to get the buttery kind.

Umbrellas in the Sky

They had such neat displays at the Houston Zoo Christmas show of lights and one of my favorites was the colorful “floating” umbrellas. This was the original photo, then artified. 🙂 My new favorite word. The giraffe was another picture I had taken.

I had both grandkids yesterday. Their dad thought he’d keep my granddaughter because she can occupy herself while he’s working. But she wanted to stay with her baby brother and me, so we took two walks, fed the turtles, did chalk drawings outside, and when he took a nap, she was drawing and coloring, then coming to help me reorganize my bear room. When I have a lot of orders at once, it looks like a tornado hit it as I’m looking for different furs, etc.

So she was organizing all my ribbons for bows and she loved it. Plus, she gave me the incentive to really get the room back in order for more bear orders!

She’s back to school today, so I’ll be picking her up and we’ll be doing our regular walk. Still working on Bear in Mind. Taking out, adding to it, taking out, adding to it!

I took the original photo at a zoo and “artified” it with the water, log, and fish.

I’ve got the baby today, so not getting much done!

I did work on Bear in Mind and lots more trimming yesterday between rainstorms. Great day!

The Beginning of a New Year!

We’re supposed to have storms all day tomorrow. I’ve been clipping and cutting plants back. It’s a beautiful warm day, no bugs out yet, no mosquitoes surprisingly. But they’ll be coming. No fire ants yet. We had 3″ of rain two days ago! And everything is still muddy. But at least I’m getting a lot done. I won’t be able to do all of the rest of it in one day though!

Working on Bear in Mind on breaks.
