Sandhill Crane at the Dallas Zoo

A big bird with a tiny fish in its beak. The next one will be bigger, I’m sure. This is just a snack.

We had two inches of rain yesterday during the thunderstorms. We had been under a tornado watch, then a warning, so it was good when everything moved into the Gulf of Mexico.

I’m a little over halfway done on the book. So off to write.

Hope when you catch the “big one,” it’s bigger than the crane’s!

  1. Hi Terry
    I have been busy.
I am glad to hear that you have been busy too.
I got out of our townhouse yesterday.
This week sure went fast for me.
I am happy you have been busy with your book.
Nothing new here. The sun is shining today. The snow is going fast and the ice is treacherous.
I do not think the snow will be gone for my birthday though.
Love your pictures that you have been putting up lately.
You have a great day today too, Terry.
    Love Sheila Claire

    • Yay, on getting out of the house. Ugh, on the ice. Be careful. I just ordered a bunch of flower seeds and am excited for when they come in! Flowers make me feel good. Thanks on the pictures. They’ve been fun to work on. Happy birthday early, Sheila Claire! 🙂 <3

  2. I grew up in Wichita, Ks. We had a lot of the Sandhill Cranes there. Part of my life was living in a house that was about two blocks from the Big Arkansas River. We would get all kinds of birds and other animals, sometimes different snakes. Had to watch out that the snakes were not rattlers!

    • Oh, cool on the birds, I would have had a ball taking pictures of them. When I lived in Florida, we lived across from a “jungle.” It had water moccasins, rattlesnakes, and alligators. We were on a canal that was only bulk-headed on one side, ours, and they had halted building on the other side of it. We used to run through the “jungle,” looking for pirate treasure and just playing games. So dangerous, but what do kids know. lol 🙂 Boys brought a 6-foot rattlesnake to our front door and asked my dad if they could keep it. They killed it in our front yard!!!
