There were a whole bunch more chicks but I couldn’t get them in the shot because they were trailing so far behind. It was winter in Omaha at the zoo and there was snow on the ground.
I cut down a couple of small volunteer crepe myrtles. I need to do more. I’ve already cut down one that popped up too close to the house. The problem is they’ll grow right back so I need to keep after them. It turned out cold today, 36 this morning, so I had to bundle up.
Hope your day is going great! I’m off to write. I’m nearly at 44,000 words. Yay! Twenty-six thousand to go to get to my minimum word count. Yay!

Well I caught my back spasms before they became intense.
My hubby and I are sitting here waiting for the South West Chief Amtrak at La Plata, MO on its way to Chicago. Next stop Fort Madison. As you can see we both love trains and watch on U Tube.
Especially Steam Locomotives.
Snowed again last night. But is warming up.
I sadly threw out my last four Christmas Cacti and now my shelf looks so bare. They were just looked so pathetic; I had six. Lost my Purple African Violet and my Hoya last summer. They all were over 20 years old. My Shamrock and vines; I just start them again. Oh and I have a Cactus ever since was I married 39 years ago. I transplanted it last summer as it really needed a bigger pot as it was leaning over.😅

Oh, that sounds like fun, Sheila Claire! I’m sorry to hear about the cacti dying. It’s so hard to keep plants alive indoors for me. Or like with me, I had lots of gnats and finally knew I couldn’t have plants in the house. It’s better that way. I’m not supposed to be around it.
I had shamrock flowers. They didn’t last long. Hope your trip is super fun!
