Oban Scotland at Night

I love photographing reflections in water and it was especially fun to do so when the area was lit up with lights at night.

Ironically, we got hot there. The sun was out for the most part during the day and I had to buy a short sleeved shirt! When we returned to Edinburgh, it was cold and rainy. Loved it though! I wanted to get away from the Texas heat. It sure has returned with a vengeance, with daytime temperatures of 95.

But at least it’s cooler in the mornings, and any relief from the heat is welcome.

I’m still waking up at 3 am, can’t break the habit, which is why I’m writing my blog at this time.

Midhope Castle in Scotland–Outlander Setting

Midhope Castle, West Lothian, Scotland. I just love old castles.

It’s the real-life location of Lallybroch, the ancestral home of Jamie Fraser in the Outlander series.

A family actually lives here, which is why it is kept up so nicely.

My birds haven’t come back after I starved them for two weeks. The squirrels are back though. It doesn’t take long for them to figure out there’s a handout for them. It was so nice and cool this morning, I was out weeding. I hope it continues to be cool in the morning so I can keep after it.

I’m off to work on the two stories I’m finishing up that I wrote scenes for on the plane coming and going and I need to work on my website pages some more.

A Scottish Castle

I have no illusions of grandeur. If I had lived at this castle in times of old, I’m sure I would have been one of the scullery maids.

But it sure was fun checking them out. I’m off to bring the puppies home. I’m sure they feel I abandoned them forever!

So if you had been here, what would you have been? A Lord? A Lady? A warrior? A farmer? Whatever it was, you would NOT have wanted to have been a prisoner in the dungeon!

Jaguars on the Prowl

Playing follow the leader? There’s always got to be someone who is the leader and the follower, right? Took the photo at the Waco zoo.

We got a 1/4″ of rain from that storm that hit Louisiana. I’m glad we didn’t get anything worse. People are still redoing roofs all over my neighborhood, trees have large branches just hanging, waiting for the next storm to rip them the rest of the way off, and lots of fence replacement still going on.

Well, we have sweltering temperatures for the next 10 days and probably beyond. Our coolness was short lived.

Spectacled Bear

Isn’t he cute and huggable looking? I was told by a friend from South America that her father had rescued a 6-month old, female cub that’s brother and mother had been in killed. They’re black, so this one is so faded in color, he has to be really old. Sweet looking though. Lola shared the picture below of Negrita and Ray playing with her.

Little one is coming, dogs want out, birds want to be fed, it’s 66 out, woohoo! So I have to run.

Don’t Pet the Cat

Isn’t she beautiful? Even if she’s one of my cougar shifters, they don’t want to be petted by some random stranger. She has a look in her eyes that say don’t even think about it! I took the photo of her at the Waco zoo.

I’ve been working on Highland Wolf edits again. I thought my chapters were a little long, so dividing them up a bit, which means adding some more material, hooks, etc. So I put off proofing it until I get that done.

Goat Having a Bad Ear Day

I took the photo of the goat in Brenham, Texas. It looked like the wind had caught his ear and covered his eye, or he was camera shy.

So I have spent several days reworking my author website. It’s still a work in progress. I need to work on ALL the book pages, but I was trying to set up the new landing page. It doesn’t look like another blog now. I still need to add a page for one of the categories of books so I can link to it and set up the printable page link for the book list. Unfortunately, when I began with a different setup, it kept posting automatically with all the changes to the world. With this one, they didn’t until I was ready and then I could just update it as I went along to see if everything was working. It’s supposed to be easy, and for the most part it was, but I managed to “break” things a few times.

I’m also proofing Highland Wolf. Off to work!

Goat Above the World

When you’re always looked down on, it must be nice being on top of the world. Goat in Okinawa at a botanical gardens.

I’m off to proof. I’m nearly done with edits, have grandparents’ lunch day with my granddaughter today, but otherwise, hope to finish up Highland Wolf today. We had an inch of rain yesterday, yahoo!

Wait! Do You Have Something Better For Me to Eat?

They had goats like this eating down the prolific vegetation in Okinawa. Isn’t he cute?

I managed to work on the Highland books yesterday, only 11K left to write on Highland Forest Nymph, finally settled on a title. The working title for years has been The Nymph of the Woods, but it was an English Medieval and it was done. But I never published it. To fit in with my Highland Medieval series, rather than have a single title floating out there, I’ve rewritten it to be Scottish. And she is in the Caledonian Forest of Scotland, so my brainstorming partner said it should be Forest instead of Woods. Now I just have to train my brain to see the title anew. lol I’ve been writing on this for about 15 years–wrote it in a few months and been revising it to fit the new story line for years. And it’s nearly done! Best of all, I love the way it’s been rewritten. And I worked on beta readers’ edits on Highland Wolf and am nearly done with those. So I will try and finish those up today and begin proofing.

Little one will be here any moment now, so off I go to get ready for him.
