Dreaming of the Highland Wolf Video

Evander Cameron works for the MacNeill wolf pack, taking their Irish wolfhounds to dog show competitions and breeding them, when one of his charges takes off and meets up with his dream dog—a Scottish deerhound. Evander discovers her owner is the kind of wolf he could really fall for.

Alyth MacBain is breeding her Scottish deerhound with a champion when her dog runs off. Now what is she to do? Her puppies might be a mixed breed and the man who owns the stud dog wants one of the puppies for a stud fee!

Who would have ever thought her dog and Evander’s—causing all the trouble they have—could bring them together in such a crazy way? Little one will be here shortly, so trying to get this posted. We have to go to the grocery store and I started working on taxes, had to promote the release of this book, and managed finally to get word count yesterday for Huntress Unleashed. I’m up to 45K. I am 2K behind because I was working on proofing Dreaming, but I had to do that, soooo, I’ll try to catch up this week on that. I need 25K more, so on the downhill slide!

Okay, little one is here and it’s pea soup fog out right now. Love it, especially if I don’t have to drive anywhere so we’ll wait a little on going to the store.

If you have ever had a wayward, in-heat, female dog that gets away from you to meet up with a sexy male doggy in the neighborhood, you will be able to relate to this story. If not? See what happens when two randy dogs meet up and what the consequences of their actions are. I almost feel sorry for the poor wolves in charge of them! Forget that the wolves are supposed to be the alphas in this equation!

Oh and yes, this happened to both my mom when she was raising toy and miniature poodles and me, when I had a standard poodle and earlier when I had a Lab. It happens.

Great White Heron at the Pond

What? You’re saying. That’s not a pond. That’s a beach! Get with the program. She needs a copy editor.

But the pond photo needed some oomph and voila, we were at the beach. Yay! And that’s writing for you. One minute you’re in your world, and the next, in my world.

It’s cold out–feels like 31 out! Brrrr! It’s colder than I thought it was when I took the dogs out this morning. Which meant I wasn’t dressed as warmly as I should have been. But when the dogs want out–they’re not waiting for me to check the weather channel.

Okay, I’m off to proof some more of Dreaming. I managed to get through a little of it last night and 2,000 words on Huntress. But I have pilates in a little while, and so I need to try and get some of this done before that.

It’s not Valentine’s Day yet, but I was having fun with creating a Valentine’s Day greeting anyway.

Super Bowl is today, which means littlest one is staying with me overnight. I have him all day tomorrow anyway. Sooooo I’m off to write before he ends up here and I can’t write!

Have a super bowl kind of day! Mine will be more of a toddler kind of day. 🙂 And that’s fun too!

Scarlet Ibis in All Its Glory!

Scarlet Ibis at Moody Gardens, Galveston, Texas. They were great at posing for me. It’s the first time I’ve gotten some really lovely shots of them anywhere.

I managed 2,000 words on my “off” day, so I was thrilled. I have been lucky because I keep thinking of scenes to write, which is a lot of the problem with creating a story. Getting stuck.

Okay, I’m about ready to get started. My sock thief, Tanner, took off with the toddler’s socks. I found one outside in the yard. Need to still find the other. Tanner! He’s such a goofy little Havanese dog.

Little Wet Cardinal

We had 2.5 inches of rain the day before yesterday and this little female was so wet.

Well, little one is coming this morning and we’re going on all kinds of adventures–the grocery store (he loves it!), the post office, I have him carry in a package and he loves being Grandmother’s little helper, Walmart (we rarely go so he thinks it’s the greatest)–and then home again and time for lunch, and his nap. And then it’s time to get big sister from school on our daily walk.

I managed to get to 14,000 words yesterday on Huntress Unleashed, so I’m about 4,000 words ahead of schedule. Yay!

It helps when life gets in the way or I get stuck on the story and begin to fall behind on daily word count goals. Two days a week–when I have little one, I have no word count goals–just in case I can’t make it. We stay busy. But I try to get in a 1,000 during the day while he’s napping and after he goes home at night. That gives me a little bit of a cushion for my weekly word count goal of 10K if for whatever reason, I fall behind.

Okay, I’m off to finish packing books up for shipment and feed the dogs, etc, etc, etc.

A Wolf in Spring

Little one is coming. I finished Dreaming of the Highland Wolf and need to send it to my beta readers. And then I’m off to the next great adventure where my characters are waiting to have their own fun. They’re not allowed to do it without me though.

Princess in the Garden

I was learning how to make a misty backdrop using a photo and then I added more flowers in the garden. I used colors from her gown to set the tone of the mist. I want to try to do this with some of my own photos too.

Well, yesterday, I tripped over pine tree roots that are coming out of the ground. They’re right in the path to the gate and dummy me was wearing slippers, so not the best footwear. I fell and broke a toe. I planned to walk all week to the school and back to get my granddaughter since last week it rained all week and this week it’s supposed to be nice, but I don’t think that’s happening this week. Annoying!

I’ve buried the roots with dirt before, but the grass doesn’t take root before the dirt just vanishes. So not sure what I’m going to do about it. I’ll try adding more dirt though.
