If It’s Not Broken…

Feb8

WordPress changed things on me again. Oh, maybe it’s better and maybe it’s not, but I posted two blogs in a day because I didn’t realize the place you schedule has changed, and the tags too. So I forget them half the time now.

And I don’t want to hear anyone say anything about teaching old dogs new tricks. lol

female-blue-bird-giving-me-a-look-900-069

Is she giving me/you a look, or what? That is the female bluebird. I have to remember she’s really not looking at me. She’s looking at a camera, trying to figure out what that thing is. 🙂

Okay, so I spent yesterday working on formatting 2 novels and 3 novellas into print: Galaxy Warrior, Loving the White Bear, Vexing the Highlander, His Wild Highland Lass, and Covert Cougar Christmas. I had thought about waiting to  have one more novella for the Highlanders and 2 more for the cougars and print as an anthology for each, but I saw a lot of authors had the smaller novellas in print at the reader’s convention this past weekend, so decided to do it too. I have to wait for the proofs to come back and then read them all over again to make sure there aren’t any mistakes.

I also did taxes for the anthology we were in, and had to wash Tanner because he rolled in something smelly outside, and read a little more of another contest book. Oh, and checked with the narrator for Taming the Cougar, because it was supposed to be done the end of December, and… he said he’d have it to me next week.

And I registered for the RWA conference. Which means I didn’t work on Flight of the White Wolf. But I have so many things hanging over my head, that I needed to get SOMETHING done. 🙂 I still need to do the bear too. 🙂

And that’s it! Now, what mischief can I get into today?

Hope you have a fun one and no little bluebird gives you the LOOK.

Mama and Papa Bluebirds

Feb7

I don’t brighten up the male bluebirds in photoshop. They are that wildly bright. The other is the female, very subdued, but you can see the bluer-gray on her, and her rusty belly like the male. But they’re together. I love them. I don’t see them very often, so when I do, I’m thrilled.

Finished the novella, Night of the Wolf, finished the tax report for the Kissing the Highlander anthology, and December’s final statement. I always wonder where all the time goes. And that’s it!

Okay, off to begin reading another Rita book. Tomorrow I need to finish a bear and get back to work on Flight of the Wolf. 🙂

Have a bluebird day. 🙂

Leader of the Pack

Feb6

A pigeon leads the pack, and is that a seagull that’s part of the flock of pigeons?

Sometimes you just need to stand out among the hoards.

Be yourself and have fun. Have a great day!!!

Blackbirds Courting

The conference was great! I have an awful layover in Atlanta. But I had a wonderful time. Now, a writer friend of mine says she has a timeshare in Grand Cayman Island and she’s going to it the end of Feb, first week in March, and she said I could come. Ohmigod!

Well, if I wasn’t swamped with deadlines, but then again, the novella I’m writing now is set there….hmmm.

I managed to finish reading two books I needed to judge. Should be able to finish a third, and need to read 3 more. If I had known I was going to have such a long layover, I would have brought another of the books. Have 6 total.

If I can plug in my laptop at the airport, maybe I can start rereading the novella again and make sure it is ready to send to my beta reader.

Still thinking about Grand Cayman. The biggest problem I have, besides deadlines, is the puppies. *sigh*

Okay, I’m off to catch a plane. Have a super wonderful day!

Blue Water, White Heron

Feb4

White heron in the surf, beach rentals, need a chaise lounge and an umbrella? Wake boarder paddling away, hotels along the white sand beach, aqua waters, birds of paradise.

And books signed at Books-a-Million and Barnes and Noble in Daytona Beach, Florida.

It was fun while it lasted! We had the most beautiful days until our last day, and then it turned colder and rainy. But we still walked down the beach and enjoyed our stay until the end!

We had a blast, and now it’s time to return home and get back to writing.

Have a sunshiny day even if it’s overcast and rainy!

Seagulls and Pigeons and Herons and…

Feb3

Pelicans, seagulls, heron, dove, yep, Daytona Beach.

Off to read more on one of the Rita books I need to judge, then lunch, and playing shifter games. 🙂

Have a super day–just think of a sunshiny beach, the waves crashing on shore, the smell of the ocean breeze, and the sound of seagulls flying overhead. Perfect for wrapping up Night of the Wolf on Grand Cayman Island. 🙂

I’m ALMOST Done

Feb1

It’s like almost making the gold. It’s not a done deal until it’s a done deal. I edited the 60 pages of the novella, wrote another scene, and need one more. But I just didn’t have time to finish it. Now I’m booked up with other stuff for the rest of the week.

Hens leaving the hen house, Mr. Cocky Rooster, Hen leaving her eggs.

So close, but not close enough. 🙂

Just one more scene, re-read it again, and Night of the Wolf will be done!

Then I’m back to Fight of the White Wolf.

Hope you meet all your goals today. 🙂
