Bluebird Family

I didn’t realize there were two baby bluebirds until I saw them sitting on the fence together. They didn’t stay long. Daddy bluebird didn’t either. That’s a blur of his wings in flight. They sit up on the fence, dive down into the grass for bugs, and return to the fence.

They also do a lot of gutter diving for insects. They’re great little birds to have around to get rid of some of the insect population. 🙂  I saw momma and daddy bluebird on the fence for a moment, but not long enough to get a shot of them.

Off to write. Poor puppies have shots today, so trying to get some writing done before I take them in.

Have to do edits on Flight of the White Wolf (2nd round), The Bounty Gets Her Wolf (2nd beta reader), Cougar Undercover (1st beta reader), and over halfway done on Falcon Fae.

It quickly stacks up! 🙂 <3

But I have a case of food poisoning also, second time in just a few days. Ugh. It’s not really on the schedule. 🙂 Unfortunately, I have to work it into the schedule. lol

Have a great day!!!

Mama and Papa Bluebirds

I don’t brighten up the male bluebirds in photoshop. They are that wildly bright. The other is the female, very subdued, but you can see the bluer-gray on her, and her rusty belly like the male. But they’re together. I love them. I don’t see them very often, so when I do, I’m thrilled.

Finished the novella, Night of the Wolf, finished the tax report for the Kissing the Highlander anthology, and December’s final statement. I always wonder where all the time goes. And that’s it!

Okay, off to begin reading another Rita book. Tomorrow I need to finish a bear and get back to work on Flight of the Wolf. 🙂

Have a bluebird day. 🙂

Birds at the Old Place, and New Place

bluebird closeupblue birds 039 (640x427)These pictures show the difference between capturing birds in shots here, compared to at my old house.

He was in the shrubs and between the window screens, branch and twig clutter and a bird on the move, they were a lot harder to capture. I think in all the years I was there, I only saw one once.

Now what I don’t have here are these kinds of photos.

roadrunner two 002 (640x556) croppedroad runner on barn 005hawk closeup on electric poleThey have hawks here, but thankfully not near my feeders. 🙂 They might have roadrunners, but I’ve never seen one here.

And one of these days I’m going to capture a snowy egret. They fly overhead here, but I never have my camera with me when they do. I had hummingbirds at the other house, but didn’t have my camera with me the couple of times I saw her around the flowers.

hummingbird 014 (3)With clear windows, no screens, up-close feeders, and a perfect “window seat” to capture them as I write away on my books and have my camera next to the keyboard, it’s perfect. AC, no bugs,  fill the feeders, and I’m good to go. At the other house, I also had to climb a kitchen stool to get up high enough to capture the birds on the back patio, which meant half the time they’d fly away.

Okay, so I’m back to work, finished SEAL Wolf Undercover and it’s off to the beta reader and promo blogs are done, and now I’m ready to do the rewrites on Between a Wolf and a Hard Place.

It’s a little cooler this morning because of storms last night so I was going to walk the puppies, but no insect repellent. I was sure I had tons of it. 🙁

Have a great day!

Birds on the Brain

Okay, first, I want to assure you that I did get word count, and made up for a 1,000 for another day. I moved furniture in the morning, unpacked 4 boxes, and even walked around the block to get my mail. I answered numerous spam calls, and really, I have been working. But….then the BIRDS came.

And that meant hurrying to open the blinds and hope not to scare them away, grab my camera and take some shots.

He really, really wanted to go down to the feeder below.

He really, really wanted to go down to the feeder below.

Two sparrows and a cardinal that I missed, swooped in to see the seed, but no takers. A sparrow was eyeing it from the fence, but he wouldn’t buy it. I have seen a bunch of these birds land on my grass and peck around the day before. Maybe they’ll get braver.

Okay, so remember about the work I have to do on the manuscript? I need to write 6,000 words to catch up. I had 7,000 yesterday, so whittling away at it. 65,000 to go!

Have a great Saturday!!! I know what I’m going to be doing. Do you?
