The winds are supposed to be strong today, and tomorrow our temperatures are expected to drop significantly. I’m trying to get some yardwork done this morning because of it. It’s really nice this morning.
Hope you are not hit by this horrible cold–or in California’s case, this horrible heat.

With this one, we just had to create a title, two framed pictures, flowers and ribbon overlays. These are pictures of the bluebirds and blue jays in my yard.
Love blue!
Okay before I get even more behind on my writing, I’m off to write!
I love the blue jays. They can be noisy, but they’re beautiful to look at.
Don’t you hate it when you can’t sleep? I’ve read if you can’t, you should get up and do something else, then try again later.
Well, I’m up and slowly trying to get started. Blog, get some hot tea, and begin taking dogs out, in, feeding them, out, in, and off to write.
I managed 2500 words on White Wolf, and another 4000 on Primal Desire yesterday. I think I need to write 2 more scenes and expand on another on Primal Desire. I’m about halfway through editing it.
I finished editing A Date with a Wolf yesterday, so now I’ll have to just read it straight through this weekend. And maybe I’ll have Primal Desire done by then too.
We’ll have another warm afternoon today, then temperatures dropping again. I have flowers blooming, crepe myrtles leafing out, my garden is confused.
I’ve been pulling dead holly, 🙁 , and pulling some of my milkweed that’s grown into a jungle and lots of grass and weeds since it was cooler yesterday and we had an inch of rain, yay!
But I was thinking about what someone said to me about trying to help others with creating photo art and she really appreciated that I would do that. I thought everyone would do it! I really just started using the textures with success this past March, but before that, I had been doing a couple of years of composites and learning how to really take better photos. I’ve been offering how I do it and several thanked me for my tips.
I’ve watched a ton of Youtube tutorials to learn how to do some things, but through trial and error, and lots and lots and lots of practice, I found what works for me. It’s like with writing, I’ve offered lots of advice to writers over the years. I don’t feel it’s something I have to worry about being in competition with anyone over. When I have time, I like being able to help others. I have noticed when someone asks someone how they did something on their photo art, some either don’t answer, or give such a vague answer, no one would be able to figure out how to do it with their own pictures. It’s like a secret recipe for success and they don’t want to share. But even if they shared, which I was hopeful one would, lol, what I did with it wouldn’t look anything like what they did with it because our base pictures and any textures we added would make them completely different.
Like with stories, photos and creating photo art, we all have a different “spin” on it. We have different life experiences. We have different ways of seeing things. When we create our works–no matter the media–it will still be our own. No competition. Different. And that is what makes each and every one of us special.
Okay, little one will be over here soon and when she is I will totally forget to post this!
Have a beautiful day and hope you are staying safe.
We have an extreme danger heat index today, and it will even be hotter tomorrow, so it will feel more like the desert, except for the high humidity.
I wrote another 3,000 words yesterday on the Highland wolf novella, but still need to write one more major scene and will be doing some edits today, or tomorrow. Little one will be here momentarily and that will put a crimp in writing and editing. But we’ll have fun. I got her some sight reading cards, so we’re going to start working on those. We were working on beginning reading books also.
A black bear and his very long tongue. A blue jay on the feeder.
The birds love the water fountain. So do the squirrels. I do too. There’s something relaxing about listening to a fountain bubbling away. Or a stream too.
I’m 100 pages into proofing Red Wolf, 145 pages to go!
We might get rain next week. I sure hope so. I was out pulling weeds this morning in the semi-dark to beat the heat, but it would help to have wetter ground to pull weeds. Do you ever notice that weeds thrive no matter if they have water or not? Maybe I should just grow weeds. They’re happy!
I love the colors of the blue jays and the bluebirds. The hawk has been back several times. I saw him flying by the other day in hunting mode, his whole body at an angle to the fence and wished I’d been able to capture him.
Still sick, but the sore throat seems to finally be not as severe. I still coughed all night and I’m hoping that tonight maybe I can sleep better. My daughter is taking little one to daycare tomorrow, which will really help because I won’t have to get up at 5 if I have yet another terrible night. I had to take care of her yesterday, and I was so sick, it was hard to keep up with her. She ended up coloring on my tile floor with her crayons. I was there the whole time, but I couldn’t see what she was up to beyond the coffee table. Luckily, it came off with vinegar spray. I just told her she only colors on papers and coloring books. She was really good and was eager to clean up her mess. She did it all by herself. I’m just glad she didn’t do it on the walls!
I managed to turn my written notes from several days into 1800 words for Wolf in Need. I’m off to try and write.
